Whitney’s is phenomenal, but it sounds like one of, if not the best singers of the last 100 years belting out a song. Chris Stapleton purposely chose to belt it out at parts and have more subdued moments to make it personal. Whitney’s is great but it is a little short on style. Jennifer Hudson I think was the best version before this with Whitney number 3. Of course always have to include Jimi Hendrix Guitar only rendition.

I definitely think this is the best one ever done. Most renditions are grand but lack an intimacy. Chris Stapleton’s version fits being played in a Coffee House or a Stadium. I’ve never heard anyone at Super Bowl give a rendition that works in a coffee house or someone’s backyard, as well as a Stadium. Jennifer Hudson, Faith Hill, Luther Vandross,, Mariah Carey’s and Whitney Houston’s are phenomenal but they are not this.
