As a Steelers fan since 1969, I am sick and tired of all the nonsense coming out of the off season! I am blocking it all out because I will be too mentally exhausted to take on the regular season! And, BTW, knowing how Tomlin and company work, I would bet 90% of all I have that Najee did make the request. What's going on: Pickett was high on his horse last year...got hurt...Rudolf takes the reigns and did deserve to finish the year, but then Pickett learns they are going to load the QB room. If I am Pickett, I am NOT steadfast on staying a Steeler. Bring in Wilson AND Fields. Pickett now gone to the Eagles. Wilson will start, and NOW they are talking about a star QB being a runback/kickoff returner (Fields). Wilson maybe has one good all star year left, then what? Fields will not stay a returner for long. We hear Fields is trade bait? For who now? Pickens is the #1 receiver. Johnson is gone. Who is the #2, 3 or even 4 and 5???? Calvin Austin III has lately been an afterthought. Draft Wilson, sign Miller, bring in Jefferson...and we are left with a weenie shrinker when Aiyuk and Sutton are ditched. Now what about Austin III? Harris and Warren are among the BEST 1-2 punch in the NFL. So what does the head office do? What they have been doing for a few years...CONFUSE EVERYONE EVEN MORE when discussions arise behind "who is RB1". Harris hears Warren...hears they may consider him for trade bait...if I am Harris, no matter how much I like my head coach...I AM A NUMBER ONE RB! IF THEY WANTED ME THEY WOULD HAVE ALREADY STATED THAT! And the fans would not be lead to second guess it all! That's why I believe his 5th year was not picked-up. Doesn't matter at this point what the reason. Before even the draft, I told everyone that Harris is going to be sacrificed somehow in all this. I felt he was and will be disgruntled. Every room in the Steelers organization is sitting on pins and needles, and the fans hear a different store and rumor every day! Different if we were rebuilding. But we are trying to put together a championship team top make a run at a Super Bowl...not just a winning record (as in the majority of Tomlin's career). So, I AM sick of all the crap going around. Going to turn everything regarding the off-season OFF and see what I have to look forward to...or bitch about...in week 1. Should be interesting, since we have the second most difficult schedule in the league this year. Great. And, hopefully I am going to hear that Harris WILL be #1 for the Steelers...and Warren right there with him as the #1 and 1/2! Hey, I heard that the Steelers are hiring Taylor Swift and Beyonce' as the new defensive coordinator team. Don't know crap about football, but they will distract the opposing defense somehow. Maybe Najee WILL want to stay?
