    The Steelers are set up to be one of those "bruiser teams" like the Titans were a few years ago. Obviously their defense is stout, a good young offensive line, two RB's both in their prime (Najeh/Warren) with complementary skills, Friermuth is a good dink and dunk tight end, Pickens is a space alien, Calvin Austin is a deep threat too, and Russ doesn't have to be a hero. He has to be like Tannehill a few years ago; just consistent, smart decision making, mid 90's passer rating. They've become a well rounded team this offseason.

    The 2024 Steelers have TREMENDOUSLY improved from the 2023 Steelers.
    The Offense is the most improved in the NFL and will be Top 10.
    The QB Room has Drastically Improved with RW3 and JF2 being the best back up in the NFL. RW3 threw 26 TD's and 8 INTS and had a bad year compared to the Steelers 13 TD and 13 INTS. I can see RW3 30TD and 5 INTS and 3500YDS and 67% completion rate in Arthurs Smith's offense.
    The Offense finally has a legitimate and Bonafide Offensive Coordinator with a proven offensive system and scheme. Importantly he has stated that his already successful offensive system and scheme has evolved into the point where it will incorporate and utilize the speed of the WR Room: Roman Wilson (4.39), Quez Watkins (4.35), Scotty Miller (4.39), and CAIII (4.32) all with 4.3 Speed. The Running game will start game 1 of the season rushing for 150 yards or more versus getting it going week 9 of the 2 previous seasons. In addition, the offense has proven weapons: Pickens, Muth, Najee, Warren, and Patterson. I look for Darnell Washington to have a breakout year! Najee and Jaylen will rush for 1000 Yds.
    The Offensive Line Has Systematically Improved with the additions of Troy Fautanu, Zach Frazier, and Mason McCormick who can play Guard and Center which adds quality depth to the OL. McCormick would be a starter on most NFL teams.
    The Defense will be TOP 5
    With the addition of Patrick Queen and Payton Wilson we have two athletic ILB's that can play sideline to sideline and cover TE's and RB's which the Steelers hasn't had since Ryan Shazier! Also, the addition of SS Elliott improves the Steeler 3 Safety Package Scheme that they employ 25% of the time. This will allow Minkah to be the Ball Hawk he is. Beanie Bishop at the SLCB and the resigning of Cam Sutton provide Depth at SCLB and CB2 or CB3 as Donte Jackson brings his 4.3 to the Secondary with JPJ taking the second year Leap! The CB room has quality potential that is untested depth with Darius Rush, Cory Trice, Ryan Watts all between 6"'2" and 6'3" and 200lbs + with 4.4 speed plays with physicality. This is a classic Tomlin's CB Room. KEY Point Payton Wilson hasn't had an injury since 2021!
    To finalize the Roster, I would sign Calias Campbell to help the DL. I am looking for Benton to take the leap in year 2. And to add quality depth I would resign Kwon Alexander ILB, Golden OLB, and Eric Rowe S all play very well for the Steelers Last year. Courtland Sutton and Simmons would be luxury Trade and signings, but I would pursue them.
    The Steelers own the Ravens and have beaten them 7 of the last 8. LJ8 has his worse QB passer rating versus the Steelers at 67.4 with 6td and 7ints and 20 Sacks and 1-3 record.
    Watson has never beaten the Steelers he is 0-2.
    Burrel Dominates the Steelers but we did have a 4 INT Game versus him in the Season opener in 2022. But with the additions on Defense, I think the Steelers will contain him and slow him down enough to let RW3 Cook! Key Point All Three QB's have injury history: LJ8, Watson, and Burrell and the Backups are average, but the Steelers have Justin Fields as their Back Up!
    The 2024 Steelers win 12 Games and win the AFC North and make it to the AFC Championship. Steelers were 5-1 in the Division in 2023.

    I love Fields’s competitive fire. Good for him. It’ll make both QBs better. Iron sharpens iron! Having said that, let me explain something to everyone: Fields may not have the mindset of sitting behind Russ, but he doesn’t have the skills needed to beat out Russ either.
    Frankly, I doubt any QB would beat out Russ right now with the situation he’s in. I think Pittsburgh will get the best version of Russ we have ever seen.
    Russ is way too skilled, way too talented, and way too motivated to leave anything in the coaches’ hands. He will make the decision FOR them. There isn’t a QB in the league who could beat out Russ under these circumstances. His legacy is on the line after he just lived that horror of being in Denver.
    Russ has a legendary work ethic. Fields is a fantastic athlete, but he’s not ready for the smoke Russ will bring. He has a slight advantage in athleticism. Remember, Russ rushed for 350 yards of his own last season on mostly non-designed runs while playing for a coach who was trying to tank. Russ hasn’t lost nearly as much as people may think.
    That slight athletic advantage Fields holds isn’t nearly enough to compensate for the huge advantages Russ holds in arm talent (i.e., angles, accuracy, touch, deep-ball proficiency), durability, leadership, experience, and drive, and he has succeeded in a similar offense before. Russ proved for years that he can thrive on a system like Arthur Smith’s.
    Fields hasn’t proven anything besides the fact that he can run and hit the occasional wide-open shot. It’s not enough. Russ is almost always at his BEST when any QB poses a threat. That’s why he has always played his best games against the best QBs, even last year in Denver. It’s his mental makeup.
    Fields can have all the ideas he wants, but he only wanted to go to Pittsburgh when he thought his competition would be Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph. The trade to Pittsburgh only became attractive to the Bears’ front office after Russ signed there.
    Think about that for one minute! What fool thinks the Bears sent Fields to Pittsburgh to “do right by him?” They sent him there to sit the bench! The Bears front office KNEW he’d never beat out Russ! They couldn’t risk him on the field opening the season playing well on a fluke while Caleb struggles.

  • @DeCurtaRican
    @DeCurtaRican 19 дней назад

    Russ can target the middle of the field. I’ve seen him carve up teams while doing it. One team he did it to was the Steelers.

    Miller in fantasy? You lost me with that one. Austin and Wilson will make the most impact as number 2 and 3 receiver.

  • @DeCurtaRican
    @DeCurtaRican 14 дней назад

    Justin is QB2, and it’s going to stay that way.
    Fields is competing with Russ. Russ is competing with himself.
    Fields’s mindset is exciting but it won’t make him a starter if Russ is just better, which he still is. Fields had requested Pittsburgh when Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph were the QBs.
    He wasn’t planning on completing with Russ, and frankly he’s nowhere near Russ’s level as a passer, nor does he play as well in the clutch. The Bears sent him to Pittsburgh after Russ signed because they knew he would wind up on the bench, which is where they want and need him as Caleb goes through his growing pains.
    It’s crazy that people don’t understand why the Steelers became such an attractive option only AFTER Russ signed. They weren’t even looking in the Steelers’ direction. After Russ signed they not only sent Fiekds there but lowered their asking price significantly, essentially paying the Steelers to take Fields off their hands. They did that because they wanted him on another team’s bench, not starting as a franchise QB in his first year away from the Bears.
    The idea of Fields displacing Russ is ridiculous when you examine the numbers.

    If we were to discount Russ’s Denver years, Russ’s 3-year average stats would be that much better than Fields’s, and that would include two injury years in Seattle (2016 and 2021) that produced outlier statistics.

      The facts are his tape. Holds the ball way to long and takes way to many sacks. That at this stage of his career he should know better, and he isn't fast enough or quick enough to get out of trouble like he used to.
      He hasn't been able to throw the ball over the middle for at least 3 years now. Sails the ball way to much on those throws or when he over corrects it's feet from the wr in the turf. So while his stats look ok but check out the previous year 16 TD - 11 int. Go watch his last 2 years and tell me why people are down on him. Go watch him play and not just look at highlights, or his stats. His last 3 years haven't been good. Especially the last 2

His challenge win/loss ratio rank as one of the worst in the league. He has absolutely no coaching tree in the NFL. His teams are also notorious for losing to teams below .500.
