    Its so trippy to me that one of the best hockey channels I follow is run by a guy significantly younger than me on a white board. Very impressive man

      He needs to drop the “class dismissed” bit. Arrogant.

    I don't mind signing Kunin, if he doesn't play well they can waive him and put him in the minors, if he does well they can flip him at the deadline for a pick. There will be lots of growing pains this season, it'll be good to have an upbeat locker room guy.

    A lot of players had to move up further than they should have been last season. Kunin's a decent fourth liner and has good work ethic, and it's not like his contract is going to be a burden for the next few years.

    Grier and War have nothing but glowing endorsements of Kunin. Specifically his work ethic is what they want the young guys to learn. According to a few interviews I’ve seen.

  • @donganem8135
    @donganem8135 25 дней назад

    Grier seems fond of reclamation projects - Giving players who underperformed elsewhere a "change of scenery" in the hopes of major improvement. But these projects rarely bear fruit ---why, after all, should we expect Zadina or Dallandria or Kunin or Grundstrom to put up better numbers with the Sharks than they did when playing with better players on their former teams? They had multiple years on those teams to develop and improve, but failed to do so...I get why the coaching staff is fond of Kunin's intangibles: his work ethic, and the discipline he has shown to play at the NHL level despite Type 1 diabetes - that alone is a remarkable achievement and is something to admire. But 2.7 million is a lot to pay for the force of example. I'd rather he use that money to overpay another experienced NHL veteran defenseman who can shore up the blue line while we wait for Thrun Emberson and Dickinson to come of age. Loved the Walman acquisition, but we need one more such deal (Sean Walker? Ilya Lyubushkin?) - and not to let Ferraro go

    • @professorhockey
      @professorhockey  24 дня назад +1

      It seems like Grier is (at least prior today’s signings) trying to look for cheap outs to Sharks problems, which, to be fair, is much better than trying to get expensive outs through the trading of picks and prospects. It’s just that none of them, unsurprisingly, have worked out thus far.

    Damn bro, you really don’t like Kunin. There has to be something Warsofsky and MG see in him, they don’t seem the sentimental type

    • @professorhockey
      @professorhockey  25 дней назад +5

      Keep in mind, all of my criticisms of Kunin are based solely on his on ice performance. Unlike Warsofsky and Grier, I don’t know what kind of impact he has outside of the game for the team. That would have to be the reason he is sticking around I’d imagine.

      @@professorhockeyI get the frustration having seen Kunin play as more of a middle-6er last season. But as a 4th liner he’s a solid energy guy that doesn’t hesitate to stick up for his teammates.
