Always loved my witchcraft just because of the uses of the plants and respect for the earth !! Due to modern way of living I believe this has never been more true. But I didn't know how much I had in my garden and local nature walking area . Thank you for sharing you are AWESOME !!🌻🍀🍄

My father and grandfather would collect elderflowers dry them in a cardboard box in the airing cupboard... Then use dried flowers in hot water for colds flu.
I'm currently drying elderflower, linden flowers, red clover, mallow, and mullien for tea.
That's elderflower tea. I made elderflower lemonade this year, you use dried flowers, sugar/ honey, lemons and water and let it ferment

Elder is the only plant I can think of that you can make both white and red wine from the same plant.

Thank you for that video, it was very interesting and informative. You're absolutely right about the honeysuckle berries being poisonous! I know, because I read somewhere that they were good to eat. And they do taste nice. Within a very few minutes I was very poorly, so I learnt my lesson! The same with raw elder berries, shouldn't be eaten....! I need videos like this to help keep me out of trouble, otherwise I'm always nibbling on things and then feeling queasy. It's surprising how many books give the wrong information and it's so much better to actually see things on video than just poor quality pictures in books. 👍

@@AlissaSss23 I am very cautious and careful, and do as much research as I can. So it's not "random" eating. Unfortunately there is a lot of wrong information out there. If you want to learn, then sometimes the consequences can be unfortunate!!!
We might all need to supplement our diet with wild foods one day.
Linden blossom are AMAZING as a very gentle, nice flavoured tea. It tastes great and it's lovely in the cold weather with some honey and lemon if you like
such a bloody good channel this is, much admiration for the detail you explained and also the relaxed pace to show some of the less skilled viewers some of the specific things to look out for, the kids loved it, thanks

I've only been actively foraging this spring. I live in a coastal region which has an abundance of Alexanders. I'm slowly gaining confidence and have seen some of the plants you talk about so will take a taste next time. I wonder if you ever get odd looks and questions when picking as it keeps happening!
Thanks 😊. Yes! I get odd looks all the time. Especially when I'm filming haha. I usually just smile and say hi, they are often just curious and want to know what you're picking. You occasionally get the people who tut at you but I just ignore them

I went out for a quickie forage to find pineapple weed. I got 3. I'll plant them in my herb garden. On the way home I found honesty seed pods,so I took a branch of that too. I'll be planting lots of honesty this year and next.

@@UKWILDCRAFTS i went on my first forage yesterday. my back garden alone is a food goldmine.
but i'm surrounded by fields and woodlands so went for a walk. i thought it'd be best to learn one thing at a time so i ventured for pineapple weed. found none, anywhere. must not grow in this part of england. i checked all paths where soil would be compacted. shame. that's onew eed i'd love to eat
i'll pick something else today and go spotting. i figure if i just pick one thing to go out and find a day and identify it'll be great.
i just learn to identify the plant .. so beautiful flowers
I didn't know Honesty was part of the brassica family. I'll forage these seeds next week I know where to get them. I'll then plant the seeds in my garden and cultivate them for food.

aaah, I picked some Alexanders seeds in Hastings a few weeks ago and left to dry.
Now I'm second guessing my memory which I'm sure is just me being ridiculous ... BUT, is there a difference in the umbels I can look for that might reassure me? I can't see enough of a difference in the seeds themselves.
I'm so annoyed, I would have checked the leaves at the time I'm positive but ... I know I should have kept some just to reassure myself.
I would love you to satisfy my imagination of you making hot teas out of those wild herbs and sipping your tea in a cold night starry sky with bonfire too...

The reason why I want to find this plant is that I want to learn and record how these plant move when the wind blowed on the plant (how the whole structure move).
I am student from London and I am doing a project about lunaria annua, I was looking forward to buy one plant from shops or find some from parks or gardens. However, I can’t find any these plant in London. :(
