Lol, must be nice to live in this fantasy world of yours. Without those corporate suits to actually run the business side of things virtually none of the games you enjoyed would exist since the vast majority of game companies used to go bust because they didn't know what the fuck they were doing. If you want a world in which only indie devs exist, you will be very disappointed when there's no games being made because no one can make any fucking money.
I can almost guarantee that the devs of Battlebit have made a loss on the game so far, because it's going to be costing them thousands of dollars a day just to keep the game servers running. You just wait, the microtransactions will come or the game will die.
The reason why BF2-4 worked so well was that the servers you played on were mostly run by the people playing the game, it didn't cost the devs anything, now they run their own servers and they pay for them, they need a way to fund that cost and tada, microtransactions.

And your logic doesn't really add up when you take into account the vast swathe of online games that explicitly don't need to resort to MTX ect. to stay running. Things were just fine before the plague of 'live-service' infected the industry. The reason modern AAA games need so much fucking money to even stay afloat is because they keep pumping utterly absurd hollywood numbers into superfluous visuals ect. so they're absolutely desperate to so much as break even as soon as possible which leads to crunch and layoffs - and THAT is what isn't sustainable. There were, and still are, ways to maintain the business side of things without becoming a black hole of money. I ain't saying things are as simple as us VS them but you don't need to defend the shareholders. They are the only ones truly benefitting from the current AAA model.

The community is the cause of this problem but they don't realize it because they're so blinded by EA bad but they don't want to say community bad, they are actively allowing EA to take advantage of this.
The cycle will continue until the end of time, also I might add that they get upset any time that a game gets delay it but don't understand that if the game was released at that time it would be buggy and broken so it's almost like they want these games to be broken.
I know RUclipsrs do because then they can profit off the hate that the game will receive for being in its current state people for some reason don't seem to understand that RUclipsrs do this, they also start to praise the game after their hate bait isn't getting enough money anymore.

and while the artists are doing that, who is running the company? who is making sure everyone gets paid? who makes sure that there's enough money coming in to keep the lights on? The suits.
Battlebit devs will soon face the choice of either going bust or putting microtransactions in the game to fund the cost of further development and the running costs of the servers (which is already going to be $1000's per day). We will see then whether they will continue to fix the game at the same rate or be forced to slow down fixes and updates in favour of making the game profitable, my bet is on making the game profitable, because why else would you bother?

Please tell me which one of those games is being made by an indie dev?
Oh that's right, none of them.
Battlebit is just the latest FOTM game that will have no players in 6 months because either it won't exist or the devs will have been forced to add all the things gamers say they don't want but still spend their money on...
If BF2042 were released on the same day as Battlebit, which game do you think would have had the bigger playerbase? BF2042 is older and it holds its player numbers, Battlebit has already begun to bleed players since this video was made.

@@bipolarminddroppings On one hand yes AAA games have more players per game, on the other for every AAA game there is thousand of small games, so maybe question is if top AAA can match top 1000 indie ones. Or maybe if game is growing, being developed/supported, is loved by community, then maybe that is measure of success too? Or maybe how much money it makes compared to development cost?
For instance Deep Rock Galactic is great game with developers that are not trying to exploit players and excellent and friendly playerbase, that is what I would call success, not just for developers, but for gamers as well as these types of games are better for us.

If you haven’t heard of Dark and Darker, I’d suggest looking into it. It has a very interesting backstory and development history. TLDR: a couple developers from Nexon were working on a new game that never made it out of production and went on to create their own company and game with a similar genre. The game is super successful in their playtests, but Nexon sees the success and sues them to prevent release of the game. The game has been able to release on their own third party launcher, but still unable to get a steam release quite yet. I think it’d make a very interesting video if you’re interested in looking into it. Anyways, cheers. Love the content 😊

Thing is, most Triple A studios at one point was a small indie company full of heart and passion...then they got big, got gassed up with their success, focused on the monetization aspect of gaming, and basically lost track of their roots. Which is being a gamer, playing games for the fun of what gaming brings. Companies like Blizzard and EA have sold their souls for the all mighty corporate dollar, anyone thinking or saying otherwise is delusional and buying into their lies and supporting their continued assault on the gaming industry.
