I've been playing with .41s since the early 90s when you couldn't find much more than Remington factory loads, I'm only familiar with various 210 grain bullets but since you've took a shine to the .41, I'm learning there's much more out there for loading...thanks.
I've been hunting with a 41 mags since 1976, with a 8 and 3/8 in Smith, loaded with 175 grain Sierra jacketed hollow point, I only use 2400 powder. Never had a problem.
@@plowboysghost they also make that same bullet in a 210 but I prefer the 175, you can get it zipping pretty quick and steel holes good accuracy, and at longer distance it does not drop as much. Good luck.
@@joe1940 Well...I've been a worse influence on people😁 You may have to look harder/ order more ammo than you would to feed a .357 Magnum....but .41 is worth it, to me, even though I hand load. Part of the benefit is the cool factor of having a gun in an outstanding cartridge that many folks haven't even heard of.
Somewhere I read that the driving Band on the Keith bullets cut full caliber holes in game it would be interesting to see each of those bullets in 20 percent ballistic gel 😮 to 👀 the outcome.
That Keith bullet may have a smaller meplat but if I recall correctly old Elmer said it was designed that way to ensure stability and accuracy at range. It makes sense to me, given the exterior ballistics of wadcutter type projectiles. At close range it won't make a difference of course and the extra knockdown of the LBT type bullet may be worth it. All options shown look good to me! I need to dust off my .41's and get busy...👍🙏❤💯
That 250 grain should be a hammer. As for me I have narrowed my my design profile down to one. That one as listed comes with a .31 nose, I on the other have reached out to AM and going to expand it to .36. Which should have the first baseline projectile of 210gr. Expand the length for each additional 10 gr to have the four goal weights. These bullets I suspect even at Sammi spec coal will not cycle in any semi auto. Be making that order here in the next few days. Found a small ammo manufacturer that had some 315gr 454 casull for 26 cabbage per 20. I couldn't pass them up bought everyone they had in stock. 120 seeds loaded on starline. Shot the first 20 Monday, along with emptied 70 scary 10mm seeds.
I'll have to check my heavy loads, been two many years. Nice boolits. AA no. 9, H-110, 2400 and my favorite but no longer recommended, Blue Dot. Thanks.
I too have a lineup of various loads for my model 69. Got a 200gr XTP hollow point 44spl load, 200gr hard cast 44mag load, then a standard 240gr soft point load. I reckon we'd have a good time at the range if that were ever a possibility haha. If you're ever in the PNW let me know. Would be cool to meet ya.
Pretty interesting load's !👍 I've used the two on the left but never have tried the blunt / square looking type . Sounds like possibly the hurricane is starting with some rain for folks ?

Hey plowboy word from the Gun Channels is that China decided to stop the export of something we use to make Gun Cotton which I guess is a component in Powder\Propellant. they're saying it could cause a major shortage. you probably have all that you need already but I figured Id let you know in case you needed some more Powder or something.
Been thinking about getting a Ruger super Blackhawk bisley in 44 mag. I’d love to get a 41 mag but it’s very hard to find ammo for where I live and I have a box of 44 mag someone gave me a while back
Hard to say what it's worth. If it's a 3 screw Old Model some folks would give that for a good one. If it's a new model transfer bar gun, some will say it's too high. I let one go for a little less than that . It was a new model and in excellent condition. I have bought a new Blackhawk in .45 Colt for a hair over that brand new, last year. I've bought two new .41 Mag Blackhawks for a little more than that, this year.

There was once several bullets in the 300-gr range for .41 Magnum, and I'm betting I can still find bullet molds in that range.
