@@guitarman7573I'm extremely familiar with all those guitarists that you listed and for my taste, Warren DeMartini is my favorite as well. George Lynch is a close second followed by Jake E Lee. It's just a matter of opinion and personal taste man. I've been playing guitar for 43 years now and have "borrowed" from all of them.
Loving these Ratt clips that have been coming out lately. A good time band with many great songs. Being a teenager in the 80's was absolutely magical and they were a part of it for me.

Ive always LOVED those tones Warren and Robin had together. I was never a hair metal fan but I loved Ratt, but more for that tone and expression. As much as I digged the grove and composition my ears always dialed in on the guitars specifically.
Well that engineer was rather wise because I really enjoyed Ratt and the guitars sound great everything seems to be written as a hook and melodies are catchy. I wish I could sound like that great work! 🎸
Saw RATT open for Ozzy @ the Bark at the Moon Tour with Jake E Lee, and Tommy Aldridge. Now that was a show ! RATT kicked ass. And Jake and Tommy were on Fire !
That's cool. I saw the band in early 84 at a small club in north Texas before most had ever heard of them. Robin brought Tawny Kitaen with him and yeah she was stunning. Think Warren was only 20 yrs old had just replaced Jake E Lee a yr or 2 earlier. Those first couple of years they were on fire. Warren one of the best.
I"m glad that I got to see Robyn with them. I did think that Carlos honored what Robyn started. Wish him and Warren would do one more final tour. @@KillerMcDiller
My old boss solld a vintage guitar I believe a Les Paul to Warren on some kind of auction site and had no clue who he was lol he just said guitarist from a band called Ratt...he was older and didn't listen to metal... I kept thinking Robin Crosby but realized it had to be Warren. He said he was super nice.
Such an iconic moment,..Turns and casually points to the actual guitar that he played the entire album of Out of the Cellar on while explaining that the amp used for his sound on that album was a Fender Super Champ practice amp.
I believe that same Fender Champ amp Warren is talking about was “borrowed” by his buddy George Lynch a while back. It was among the amps in a pic George posted from his home studio and someone asked him if it was Warren’s amp…
I heard Ronnie Montrose used a Fender Super Champ for recording that first album. "Rock Candy" sounds so huge, especially in 1973. You wouldn't think it was just a little tube Fender, but that what it is
It must be like..."I am a God!'⚡) when your band gets signed, and suddenly youve got music pro's, producers at your command...open cheques at the guitar store ... special, after hours sessions at guitar stores, trying literally EVERYTHING out...and the shop assistant/owner being genuinely glad to humour your every whim...! 🤔 Omg! And getting to try out every guitar/amp /and pedals i can find - and getting my choice of them to keep. What a dream, eh?! →guitar players get it..!
My friend had a Fender champ in the late '70s / early '80s. Not sure if it was moded. But it did sound very nice. It had a compressed, nasily midrange sound. Like the Round and round solo.
The best analog tone I ever had was a Fender Champ 12 that was bought in Germany, then modified for US power and it had become effectively a 22 watt Champ, which I then ran out direct into a BK Butler MosValve and then into a split stereo Marshall 1960 Bottom cab with 25 watt Celestions. My tone is better now, but that tone was better than a previous JCM 800 and the Boogie Dual rect I used in the 90's. But none of those rigs come close to the ENGL I use now.
Those Rivera era Fender amps were terrific. I had the Super Champ and it really was as good as Warren, Edward VH and others said. But it was high maintenance - mine was in the shop about once a year. The Princeton Reverb 2 was much more reliable, loud enough for small clubs, but a bit thin and was better with one or two pedals.
That's Crazy cause Randy Rhoads made a similar comment about loving his practice Amp. Hell that wat he used when he auditioned for Ozzy. But Didn't take him long to decide to go with 100 w Marshall stacks Lol
Well I don't think a practice amp would have worked to good on a big arena, that's what the 100watt Marshall is for. I used pne for a short time It was too loud to use for a club band
@@robertnagel3972 Lol yeah I knew that a practice Amp wouldn't work for concerts regardless of the size of the venues .practice Amps are just for practicing in a small room .I was just using sarcasm
Fender Super Champs and Marshall Lead 12’s are studio favorites….you can have the cranked-amp sound without blistering the walls or sound engineer’s ears.
Fender Super Champ was the greatest amp ever built. I bought one in 1983 and wish I still had it. There was nothing else like it at the time tone wise.
It was referenced that they up-miked his practice amp. I did not know they routed it to a new speaker. As it was the Marshall for much of the LP was used by both Warren and Robbin, despite Warren disliking the idea. He ended up buying a bunch of new amps in hopes of finding gold for IOYP, he did not and they used the same Marshall again.
There’s a story how EVH got the amp from Ronnie monstrose the he record rock candy He went to the guy’s apartment and offered him $$ and walked away with it And he recorded fair warning with it
Underrated guitarist. RATT had great riffs and killer solos.
Opening riff for "Lay it Down" is sso epic!

One more Ratt tour Warren! The fans deserve it. Make it happen brother!🤘
Yet again proving you don't need a $6k head and a refrigerator size rack. The sound is in the player.
And his guitar and his amp modded by Paul Rivera.

Warren is such an underrated guitarist!! That opening riff to Lay It Down is world-famous!! It was a 9.5 quake that rocked us all back in '84!!
