I'd love to see a "what I'm packing for lunch" community video! It's often the highlight of my work day to look forward to what I packed in my lunchbox so I'd be interested to see what others do as well.
@Stephanie Backman I second this. I'd love to see a "What I typically take for lunch" video, where the person says where they are from, what they do for work, what they usually have for lunch, and whether they packed it or someone in their family did. I think that would be so interesting, and fun!
Our midnight snacks depend on who starts it. We are mom, dad, two adult children and two little children in one house. The little ones are more grab and go, so pre-made things. The adult child #1 is more of a bread based snacker, so a PB&J. My husband is more of "anything that can become a taco, will become a taco" person, so if there are left overs, they are going inside a corn or flour tortilla. I usually make something "from scratch" that is sweet and fast like my "stove-top cookies" (make a thick pancake batter, add cocoa powder and extra sugar. Cook cookie sized pancakes on the skillet) and enjoy with a side of warm ginger milk. Sometimes adult child #2 cooks chicken rinds in the oven and we all get out of our rooms so quick ain't even funny and we all start adding snacks. It turns into a get-together when we should all be asleep. 😂 Covid-19 might have stressful moments, but it has made my family stronger and well versed on midnight snacks.
@@hananurra6122 I even make stovetop bread. Way faster than in the oven. The top is soft and moist, the bottom is crunchy and the center is like a pillow. ☺️ We experiment a lot in the kitchen and on the grill and smoker. I just love this community Beryl created! the main reason why im a foodie is cuz i love how each dish tells a story about a culture or a person. Beryl's videos shows me what i love about food the most. ❤️
My papa (late grandfather) and I used to go to the kitchen to make what I thought he was calling a “BEDNIGHT SNACK” until I learned what midnight meant lol. It consists of quartered bologna/american cheese slices, dill pickles, pimento stuffed olives, and Braunschweiger (a paste like meat made of liver). I still find myself wandering to the kitchen in the middle of the night cutting up bits of pickle, cheeses, and weird ingredients no one else in my house likes. I miss his presence, but little things like this make me realize the presence of him is now in my heart
A lot of these "snacks" looked like whole meals. Everything looked really good. If I were to have a snack late at night though it would just be me picking at the leftovers from whatever dinner was that night.
Everybody is so beautiful and cozy in this video! Thank you Beryl and community for these great ideas and insights into how everyone snacks late at night. The Mexican snack makes me hungry... A great Dutch midnight snack would be a frikandelbroodje... A flaky pastry with a "frikandel" in it, which is a long, phallic shaped amalgamation of different junk meats and spices, fried in oil. The pastry has some sweet curry sauce in it too. It's so good.

You've got your contrasting temperatures (warmed bread with cold cuke and cold cream cheese), your contrasting textures (soft bread, soft cheese, crunchy tortilla chips, crunchy pickles), and contrasting but complimentary flavors (lovely dairy and mild cucumber with spiced tortilla chips). I'll bet the tiniest bit of fresh lime juice squeezed onto the cream cheese after you've spread it would elevate this snack all the more. I hope you give it a go!
Its 10:56 in Texas right now! I just finished this video and it was an absolute work of art. The end of the video made me feel so connected and seen during a difficult time. Thank you!
Oooo, I want to try all of these midnight snacks! Thank you for sharing 💖💖💖 My favorite savory midnight snack might sound weird but since my, mom’s side of the family are “all” Sicilian we always have sauce (tomato ) available (when we make a batch we always freeze some in ice cube trays when frozen pop them put into ziplock freezer bags double bag them & store in the freezer ) I microwave a potato then add a cube of sauce return to the microwave add mozzarella cheese & black pepper. Yum! Sometimes I’ll drop an egg & red pepper flakes on it cover & return to the microwave!
I love you're videos and how they bring us all together! I feel connected to all the people who participated, thank you for giving us a glimpse into your homes and lives! It’s 11:33pm in California as I’m watching this video. I am snacking on my go-to favorites , green apples 🍏 (sliced in coins) and pepper-salt. The pepper-salt is made by pounding salt with fresh Thai birds eye chili in a mortar with a pestle. The combination of tart green apples dipped into salt & spice is YUM!
I loved this video! It was so wholesome. It's nice to think that when you're having a midnight snack, other people elsewhere in the world are doing the same. I'd love to try the poached egg with garlic ramen or the spiced milk... In my house we often eat popcorn and some coffee as a midnight snack when watching movies or working late. Whether it's microwave popcorn or homemade popcorn, we like to add parmesan cheese and brown sugar to it. It's an odd combo but tastes so good!

@Alaina da Costa Have you tried onigiri yet? If not, there are lots of "how to" videos where you could make it yourself, you know. Check out Aaron and Claire 's channel, or Kitchen Princess Bamboo, both of whom have a video on homemade onigiri, six ways (or maybe eight...) and I have used their videos to make onigiri at home. So easy, so delicious, and you get a more balanced ratio of filling:rice than if you buy them pre-made at a restaurant or Asian market. Good luck!

love these videos! it's always exciting when i open youtube and there's a new video from your channel :) sadly i don't really have late night anything except going to sleep, but if i feel like having something before going to bed then it's tea with honey and milk... or a tiny bit of a sweet italian liquor with my mom on special occasions :3
It's really heartwarming to see people across the world connecting instantly over a plate of food, virtually through the parallel conversations in the comment section 😃. Wishing you a bountiful and happy new year 💫 !
I live in Switzerland. My typical late night snack is some baguette, salami slices, and a fresh mozzarella ball with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
This is seriously one of my favorite channels on RUclips. Every video is such amazing quality. Genuine, authentic, Enjoyable, adventurous, humorous and just a pleasure. My favorite midnight snack is a rice bowl reheated in the microwave mixed with soy sauce, sesame oil, gochujang, a little fried kimchi and topped with a raw egg. Before everyone freaks about the raw egg, I’ve been eating this for 40+ years and I’m still alive. 😂🤣
@Genie B Raw eggs are so so safe. In the USA, it's something like 1 in 55,000 eggs is unsafe. So unless you're preggers or immuno-compromised, I'd say you'll be just fine. And even if you're preggers or i/c, frankly, cuz the 1 in 55,000 is not likely the one you're eating. I use raw egg all the time - have for many decades - never once had an issue. But I grew up in a farming community and we are less concerned with such things, as we've learned from Mother Nature herself.
Still catching up here! I ADORE this episode!!!!!!!! This must take so much work to produce! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Oh! Also, after living in France I love a avocado with mayo and a dash of rice wine vinegar inside!
It's 7:45 am. I'm getting my booster today! Yippee!! I often have mini shredded wheat cereal before bed, but because I don't care for milk, I have mine mixed with a fruit yogurt. It's also great for breakfast, not surprisingly. Thanks for another great video Beryl! 👁💛🐑
Love walnuts and dates together. One of my favorite things to put on dates is almond butter. I never thought of the avocado hack, what is your favorite salad dressing to use in the center?
I totally had childhood flashbacks with Beryl's snack choice (though different dressing)! My mom and dad would eat a split avocado with Catalina French dressing in the center all the time.
This warmed my heart to see people from all over the world sharing their recipes and activities. Such a great idea! Idea for future video: Snacks you bring to the library...hahaha. It can be a student addition. I know I am very thoughtful about the kind of snacks and packaging it is encased in when I go to the library. Being their for hours, but not wanting anything to crumbly or that can make too much noise.
Me looking at all the late snacks enviously. GI and monitoring sugar intake has made Midnight snacking a thing of the past. I love eating vicariously with you all. Happy snacking.
I am loving these community videos! I have to admit that i would love for the individual snippets to be longer. Maybe you could split them up into multiple parts? I would love to see the community drink coffee on a Monday morning.

I'm not sure if this was done yet, but how about "meals you take (out) with you" - be it to school, uni, work, a longer trip... anything goes. Not takeout from a restaurant obviously. Self-made cooked or prepared food.
Wonderful video to see from many fellow viewers around the world! Also, this episode taught me some more things in the Nepalese culture which will help me connect with some of my Nepalese students :)

I'll bet the tiniest bit of fresh lime juice squeezed onto the cream cheese after you've spread it would elevate this snack all the more. I hope you give it a go!
You bring the world together with food. Thank you, Beryl.
Its 10:56 in Texas right now! I just finished this video and it was an absolute work of art. The end of the video made me feel so connected and seen during a difficult time. Thank you!
This is so cute, it's like everyone's become global roommates!
Do a “How I Take/Make My Tea” community video please! I love tea with a small snack and would LOVE to see what others do!!
Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy! Thanks, keep it up!💕
Next community video should be favorite soups! Or favorite weird combinations.
I love this serie , make me feel like i m a part of this world
It’s 11:33pm in California as I’m watching this video.
Yay! More Alisher content ❤️❤️❤️ My late night snack is usually just peanut butter toast or leftovers. This video tells me I need more pastries in my life 😊
Thank you Beryl. Such an amazing community you’ve created. I feel so lucky to have found it. Sending you love and warmth, I know the city is freezing today! Extra love for Asha.
So glad you found my plate thumbnail worthy, thanks Beryl for making us a part of your community ❤️ Also, I'm hungry now looking at that noodle bowl. Gonna make myself another bowl 😂
Ayyyyyyeeeee!!! Haha Mansi with the thumbnail 🥳🥳🥳
I love that you actually did yours late at night, it made it feel extra cozy
@Alaina da Costa Have you tried onigiri yet? If not, there are lots of "how to" videos where you could make it yourself, you know. Check out Aaron and Claire 's channel, or Kitchen Princess Bamboo, both of whom have a video on homemade onigiri, six ways (or maybe eight...) and I have used their videos to make onigiri at home. So easy, so delicious, and you get a more balanced ratio of filling:rice than if you buy them pre-made at a restaurant or Asian market.
Good luck!
Loved this video!! It’s so much fun to know what types of snacks are enjoyed around the world! Thank you!
What a joyful kismet moment to find myself sitting down with a fried egg sandwich at 1a.m. (Kalamazoo, MI time) and have this video pop up first thing. I go to sleep tonight feeling a connection that I didn’t realize I was so craving. Thank you to this entire community.
love these videos! it's always exciting when i open youtube and there's a new video from your channel :) sadly i don't really have late night anything except going to sleep, but if i feel like having something before going to bed then it's tea with honey and milk... or a tiny bit of a sweet italian liquor with my mom on special occasions :3
That's not sad at all! How nice to go easily to sleep.
Cornick with San Miguel Flavoured Beer. My kind of Midnight Snack.
It's really heartwarming to see people across the world connecting instantly over a plate of food, virtually through the parallel conversations in the comment section 😃. Wishing you a bountiful and happy new year 💫 !
Good morning! It was nice seeing everyone around the world! ❤God bless everyone!
I live in Switzerland. My typical late night snack is some baguette, salami slices, and a fresh mozzarella ball with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
The garlic noodles & poached egg and the vegemite and cheese have my heart!💗✨
(Also Australian and I’m heavy handed with it 😅!)
@Genie B
Raw eggs are so so safe.
I have fallen in love with fried cassava crackers as my current late night snack, they're so good :)
Oh I hope my favourite, peanut butter directly out of the jar, is in the video 🤞
I love that your late night snack is an avocado filled with salad dressing! Mine is an avocado filled with Tajin. 😍😋
You’ve created such an amazing community. Wow. It’s so beautiful.
Still catching up here! I ADORE this episode!!!!!!!! This must take so much work to produce! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Oh! Also, after living in France I love a avocado with mayo and a dash of rice wine vinegar inside!
This video made me make a mug cake and eat it! I love how this channel is bring people together!
Lots of love! ♥️
love this so much! you truly bring the world a little bit closer together
you have easily become one of my favorite youtubers :) I love how inclusive you are and you bring me so much comfort with all your content!
We’re in this video!😭😭😭 I’m so excited! What a great video! Thank you!
I'm getting my booster tomorrow and this is the perfect preparation. Easy snacks for sitting on the sofa while my immune system does it's thing
Love walnuts and dates together. One of my favorite things to put on dates is almond butter. I never thought of the avocado hack, what is your favorite salad dressing to use in the center?
I am loving the brand Mizkan right now I believe it is Japanese but I have found it at local grocer as well as Asian markets the ginger one is so nice
@@BerylShereshewsky thank you! I have a great little asian market near me so I I will definitely check that brand out.
In my family we always ate them with soy sauce, so that works too :)
When I was in college (in the 70s!) I discovered avocado filled with drained canned tuna, with French dressing and sprinkled with dill. So good!
I totally had childhood flashbacks with Beryl's snack choice (though different dressing)! My mom and dad would eat a split avocado with Catalina French dressing in the center all the time.
I love how surprising some of these snacks are. Such a beautiful community ❤️
🇨🇦 I love how you bring the people in the 🌎 together ‼️
the universal human emotion of late night snack time
Goood morning beryl! I’m here with a yummy pistachio latte from Starbucks in hand! Cheers! 🥂
Pistachio?? Yum! I wish they did them in ireland
Omg!!! Sounds like my dream latte! Why does Starbucks in Germany never carries the really interesting ones!?! 😫
I would love to see the community drink coffee on a Monday morning.
aww💗💗 community videos are so wholesome
My midnight snack usually consists of a cup of tea and biscuits or a slice of cake if I have any.
Mansi has the most beautiful voice, I found it really soothing.
For a midnight snack I love cheese on toast with brown sauce (or sriracha). Simple and comforting.
These videos are so fun! What a good sense of community. Love it.
Thanks Beryl and everyone else for sharing. It's been a tough time lately and these videos really cheer me up :)
I so ❤️all of your content, these community videos tho’ - they warm my heart and feed my soul. Thank you for bringing us all closer to each other. ( and shout out to OWL KITTY 🥰)
I'm not sure if this was done yet, but how about "meals you take (out) with you" - be it to school, uni, work, a longer trip... anything goes. Not takeout from a restaurant obviously. Self-made cooked or prepared food.
That Onigiri looked divine 😍
Hi Raquel from Adelaide. Great to see a fellow South Australian on here xx
Wonderful video to see from many fellow viewers around the world! Also, this episode taught me some more things in the Nepalese culture which will help me connect with some of my Nepalese students :)
Currently watching this at 12:35 AM and yes i am eating something hahaha eating a fish noodle soup that my dad made earlier in the night 😁 usually for a midnight snack i have some cinema popcorn that i bought in advance (yes i may have bought four buckets of popcorn that's sealed tight so it remains fresh for days lol)
