    My wife and I have taken 5000IU per day for 3 years. My 9 month old has been given vit D each morning since he was born. Because of mandatory testing at my wife's work, we found out she was positive 2 weeks ago. We all got tested and were all positive. The ONLY symptom any of us had was I lost my smell. Otherwise we would have never known we had it. Zero symptoms otherwise. Thank the lord, were all perfectly fine. God bless, John. Your info is saving lives.

      The reason for this is sars cov 2 infection causes symptoms of excessive ACE INHIBITOR usage. Sars upregulates ACE II in the body to attach spike protein to infect cell.. it naturally does this... so... Ace inhibitors increase ace II and one symptom of upregulated Ace II is loss of taste/smell! Same situation. U need an ARB or ANGIOTENSIN RECEPTOR BLOCKER to counterbalance so many cells expressing ace 2 to deregulate and alleviate symptoms...

    Didn’t realise that one of the signs of low vitamin D is lower back pain. Have been taking vitamin D in a higher dose now for a couple of weeks and my lower back pain has virtually disappeared after a decade from when I had the worst bout of flu ever. It seems the drug companies don’t want you to know the benefits of vitamin D, otherwise a lot their products would not be needed or is that being overly cynical? Thank you for your informative presentations.

    I'm in the medical field (and a biracial American woman) and I'm ashamed of how long it took me to really focus on the benefits of vitamin D (my MIL is in northern US and she's white, her doctor started checking her vitamin D levels 10 years ago) for my Pedi patients. I'm in the southern US and relatively light skinned (from low sun exposure; I CAN get pretty dark on summer vacations, but that's rare for me.)--my doctors didn't start the conversation with me, I initiated the vit D discussion a few years back. Dear Doctor John,
    I have been watching you since I was in self-isolation in March. Lots of time on my hands to look at sensible sources of advice, and I think I can spot that rather than lizard conspiracy notions. Or even that it is a mild flu ... A friend of mine died of its in April in our local cottage hospital. One of 127 deaths in Herefordshire so far, but then we are blessed with mostly sensible people, who mostly follow the rules ...
    I started Vit D [Boots, standard tablets of 10 micro-grams - 90 in the container] a fortnight ago. Last week I had the return of a nearly sixty year problem: An unstoppable nose-bleed. That went on for three quarters of an hour and cost half a toilet roll. I had actually started to panic. Home alone as it were ... After I had staunched it, I rang my GP, but of course actually did not speak to my actual Doc, but did speak to a very nice lady Doc, who asked if I was on any medication. [Obviously my notes were not in front of her]. I said that I tend to avoid any medicines, unless prescribed, but had started Vit D. She was absolutely delighted. No risk and all benefit. She told me not to exceed the stated dose, which I am not, so 10 micro-grams per day. She did prescribe a topical antibiotic for my nose, but twice it created a new bleed, so I stopped. My nose has no infection, just an inherent six decade weakness.
    Sorry to ramble, and there is a lot of stuff in the air work wise, so no doubt that I am actually a bit run-down from stress and poor sleep. My nose-bleeds have always come in times of extreme hot weather or when run down.
    I cannot adequately express my thanks for your videos. I have no answers, but then I have no useful opinion on how serous this is. No doubt, by next Easter, I shall have a clear vision, but I do suspect that it might turn very ugly this winter for many people.
    Best wishes from George [who has a RUclips channel if you want to contact me].

      Hello I'm a doctor, if you're over 65, it's worth taking 25 micrograms a day at least (1000 units). The recommended levels in the UK are much too low. IF a young white person stays in the sun for 30 minutes in mid summer with heavy skin exposure, they could make hundreds of thousands of units of vitamin D. The risk of overdose is low, unless you have a high blood calcium level.

      Jane Miller vit d and zinc would be enough tough as ascorbic acid is found in fruits and vegetables. So try to take at least 2 fruits a day and add some vegetables with your meals and you don’t need vit c supplement but vit d is more difficult to get without supplementation as in many countries the sun is not present throughout the year and your skin can’t produce vit d if there is no sun rays on it, although there are foods that have a good amount of vit d like cod liver oil, fortified cereals, sardines and egg yolks. On the other side zinc can be found mostly in red meat there other sources which have the same amount like legumes and whole grains, zinc is needed for immune function and a healthy metabolism. Before you take supplements make sure to check if you are getting enough from your diet, as vit d overload can have harmful effects on the body like bone pain, kidney problems and fatigue this is all caused by Hypercalcemia which means that there is a harmful amount of calcium in the blood. Vit d toxicity is quite rare but it can happen.

      Jane Miller be careful when taking zinc supplements, too much zinc can cause your copper levels to drop too low and this can compromise your immune system and make you susceptible to another virus that can do the same damage to your spinal cord that MS does. If you take zinc supplements you should get regular blood tests. One early symptom is numb fingers and you might start dropping things. After the damage I did t myself I now prefer to get zinc from a natural source like cashew nuts.

    Vitamin D plays a significant role in the regulation of calcium and maintenance of phosphorus levels in the blood. These factors are vital for maintaining healthy bones. I started taking twenty thousand iu of vit D, per day in gel capsule during November 2019. During December I took it down to ten thousand iu per day. Since January 2020, I've been down to four thousand iu. I was tested in June and my vitamin D levels were in the middle, between the max and minimum recommended blood levels. I'm 64 so my skin is too thin to convert sunlight to vitamin D, so supplements are absolutely essential to my health.

    The real question is WHY are we Vitamin D deficient?
    We are a world that is INDOORS too much. For so many reasons, we stay indoor and don't go outside for much of anything. The average person spends very little time outdoors in the sun.
    The real pandemic here is we are all too lazy and stay indoors out of the sun. Obesity, heart disease, Hpertension, Diabetes will all improve if we spend more time outdoors doing anything.

However, Fauci makes no secret that he takes massive doses of Vit D, so members of the public have all the evidence they need. I remember it wasn’t that many years ago that the health professionals and even the NHS were saying that taking vitamins was all but useless if you had a normal diet , yet the alternative practices and doctors that read the research and were ahead of the game were screaming it from the roof tops about vit D . One wonders what other natural and vitamin supplements they currently decry are actually very beneficial .

      In the days when even small towns had a fishmonger or two our vitamin D levels would be assisted by a weekly portion of salmon, sardines, trout etc. BUT that was from the days when mothers stayed home raised children and cooked meals and planned menus.

      The problem has been that a lot of false claims have been made about Vitamins, D included, regarding their efficacy in preventing or even "curing" a number of diseases without any credible evidence.. I think it's important to research each claim on its own merits.

      Also Curcumin is a very powerful supplement and many professional papers written about it.

    I live in the southwestern part one the U.S. and spent so much of my childhood in the sun that I am now, at 71, advised to avoid the sun due to skin cancer concerns. Yes, I see my dermatologist twice a year and undergo local cryogenic and surgical treatments when required, but no doctor has been concerned about my vitamin D levels, until I started listening to this channel in early 2020. Thank you, Dr. Campbell. You have given me confidence that I have a fighting chance against this virus. I take about 5000iu per day now, but my doctor doesn't seem to be interested in testing my levels. He will be retiring soon, so I will be looking for a new doctor, so guess what question I will ask first!

    Hello Doctor! I take 1000 mg vitamin D + calcium year round living in Northern Europe and my pharmacist told me to take it before bedtime because the body absorbs it better during sleep.

    • @Nabium
      @Nabium 3 года назад +3

      1000 mg? That's 1000000 microgram. Recomended daily intake of vitamin D is 10-20 micrograms. You're taking 50 000 - 100 000 times as much as the recommended daily intake. Doses over 5000 micrograms are considered toxic and eventually fatal and you're taking more than 200 times that, so, I have great news for you. You're long dead from vit D toxicity.
      Either that, or you're confusing mg with iu. A 1000 international units(iu) of vit D a day is a more likely dose that a pharmacist would recommend. For starters, it doesn't kill you.

    • @goranvuletic8873
      @goranvuletic8873 3 года назад +7

      This is apparently incorrect, you probably meant 1.000 IU. Don't take it before bed, because Vit D affects melatonin, and you may have problems with your sleep. Take it with a meal (it's good if there's some fat in it). Take 5.000 IU, not 1.000 IU. It is super good if you also take K2 and magnesium with it. This is the winning combination. Check your blood levels and make sure to reach 50 ng/mL and you will be spared many illnesses.

      Michael Kahn - large drug manufacturers spend lavish amounts on political campaigns, they advertise heavily in mass media marketing campaigns, you can even find their ugly tentacles here on RUclips. That is why they have become so powerful. We, the public need to arm ourselves with information and demand our elected representatives promote our interests. That is why the videos of our Doctor John Campbell are so vitally important - we need to spread the word - believe me, the multinational pharmaceutical companies and the public officials they bought will not.

    I can’t thank you enough for all your vitamin D information. I live in the USA. I asked my physician if it was okay to increase my Vitamin D due to the facts and risk factors you have mentioned. I’m obese, I’ve had gastric bypass so I don’t absorb well, and I’m in my mid 50’s. I’ve been taking 5000 mg a day and have not been able to bring my level into the normal range. I asked my doctor if I could take 10,000 units per day. She told me that’s way too much, so I compromised and added another 2000, so at this time I am taking 7000 a day and finally after 3 months I have finally reached a level in the normal range. Still low, but at least it’s rising. If it weren’t for you I would never had known how important Vit D is to our body. So I want to Thank you so much for all the information and for explaining why some people need more than others. You are completely right!!!
