Tayor Swift Visits Shelby Huff at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC

- Shelby Huff got a special visitor at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City ... Taylor Swift! Taylor was scheduled to be on the pediatric cancer floor for just 1 hour, but instead, she stayed for nearly 5 hours!
Shelby was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia in November 2012. She had a Bone Marrow Transplant October 31, 2013. In January 2014 she developed PTLD (Post Transplant Lymphoproliferative Disease) a form of Lymphoma and Von Willebrand Disease. She is currently at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC receiving a life saving Clinical Trial.
Taylors visit brightened the day for all the children here on the pediatric oncology floor at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center!

She doesn't even publicize her visit. Which means that she does it because she cares, not because she wants attention. I love you Taylor, you're such an inspiration. And right now we should all pray for everyone going through tough times all over the world because we don't know what's going to happen tomorrow or even the next hour.

oh my god this makes me smile so big.. taylor stayed for five hours even though she was only supposed to be there from 3pm to 4pm, and that warms my heart. she's not doing this for the cameras or attention which is why she didn't even tweet about it or publicize it in any way.. she's doing it for the smile on the patient's faces. anyone who doesn't think taylor is a good role model is crazy. i'll always look up to her. edit: also, stay strong shelby and all of the other patients at the hospital!!!

Taylor is such a sweetheart! I got to meet her through make a wish when I was Shelby's age! I have to say, it was the best moment of my life and really up lifted my spirit to keep fighting!! She will always be my hero! She brought hope into my world when all I saw was darkness! Big hugs to Shelby!!!

Taylor is an absolute angel, she made my best friend's dream come true (the one on the left in my photo) after a facebook campaign for her to meet her in NZ last November during her hard fought cancer battle, sadly she lost her battle last month but it gives me comfort knowing that I got to witness her number one dream come true thanks to Taylor and the kindness of many people. All my best wishes to Shelby may you fight this to victory and so glad you got to be visited by Taylor, a true angel on earth
This is the real Taylor. Not the person you see in the tabloids, not the girl she's portrayed as today. And it's sad that someone this kind and with such a beautiful heart has her image and everything she does warped by the public. This is why I love her and this is why she's my idol. She makes a positive change in the world and more people- especially celebrities, should follow in her example.

Mighty Kasey Taylor didn’t have a cameraman. One of the parents filmed and posted this. Taylor didn’t say anything about visiting the kids. So find me another artist who does that
It's like a sad state of existence for some people. The more genuine and un-hateable a person is, the more haters will reach for the most ridiculous nuance to hate on. And the even sadder thing is many people that can't help but to hate do so because they really aren't at peace with themselves and therefore try to cover for that by bringing everyone else down. Most especially the people who are full of love and compassion.

So proud of Taylor to do this, so often! I know most of the time she visits cancer clinics there aren't cameras. And that sometimes the people she visits, don't pull through. And that she has to be strong, and not cry, ever, no matter what. And still, she continues to go and visit the kids, and give hope. Not too many celebrities go to cancer clinics.

I think that Ms Taylor Swift is a excellent role model for all ages. She is a very classy lady with a positive outlook in life. If only their was more people like her in the music industry today!

It's so great that she does this out of the kindness of her heart, but she probably doesn't realize how much of an impact on her life, her family's and friends it's such an impact that it's hard to explain

This is wonderful! It definitely made me tear up a little. I had a Make-A-Wish and I think every day about how I wish I used it on meeting Taylor. I hope the trial goes well, Shelby. I was 16 when I was sick. It's not fun. My thoughts are with you and your family.

All those people out there just keep attacking Taylor she breaks up for writing songs, or even bad things, but overall the one same thing. But they never say Taylor other things that is good for people. I'm not saying visiting some children should be widely-praised, since it is not a show, but how many of those haters spend a couple of hours to do the same thing as Taylor?
