Day Trip to Dunblane and Sheriffmuir Battlefield | Dunblane Cathedral and Museum

For this week's video we visited the charming medieval town of Dunblane. I could always see Dunblane from the train to Glasgow, especially the very distinct shape of Dunblane Cathedral, so I have been intrigued and wanted to visit for the longest time. First, we visited Dunblane Museum, which is run by some lovely volunteers. It is free, but only open on Saturdays as of now. Then we visited Dunblane Cathedral, which is a property of Historic Scotland. Entry is free, but pre-booking is required. After that we walked along the picturesque Allan Water, which runs right through the centre of Dunblane, and had a look around the Highstreet. To round off the trip, we also decided to visit a nearby battlefield connected to the history of Dunblane, where the Battle of Sheriffmuir took place on the 13th of November 1715 between Jacobites and government troops during the first Jacobite Uprising.
