This still makes me cry it’s unbelievable, but as Judy said at least Dunblane has been remembered not just for the shootings but for good also with the boys Jamie & Andy, Although I’m sure the world will never forget these innocent beautiful kids and their wonderful teacher.
For me Dunblaine is still unfortunately a name i associate with tragedy and yes, change. I remember within a month my school went from being a place to learn , to socialise, to be a place the community almost revolved around, to being a place to be protected with door codes , designated visitor entry points, and visitor logs. Fully agree, since my Army days I've loved shooting and I do wish I could own and use pistols as a hobby. But as I've said to my kids, it's a small sacrifice in terms of us never having a school shooting. I left school in 1997, and I'm not naïve having had a career in the police, gangs have guns all over, but this law helped to massively prevent, deter and touch wood thus far stop any school shooting happening. I don't think it does protect us. Because CRIMINALS are still getting hold of firearms. In fact, it's relatively easy to pick up a gun in the UK to this day... a revolver might cost you £800 - £1000 plus rounds for it but you can still get them. If one good person had a firearm on 13th March that year, many children's lives would have been saved. My point is... try to stop bad people from getting guns... you will never do it. A good person with a gun can defeat a bad person with a gun. And I'll beat you to it - how many school shootings have we had in the UK compared with America, I hear you ask? The point isn't just that; the whole point is that the people who can readily get hold of guns in the UK illegally don't tend to be the kind to shoot up schools - they're all gang affiliates and shoot each other over drugs. But we've still had innocent people, men, women and children fall victim to crossfire or misidentification. Bring guns back. Maybe good men and women can be ready to protect their children once again. I own three shotguns and a .308 rifle strictly for recreational shooting and game hunting. I'd be lying if I said that one of those instruments wouldn't help me if someone broke into my house one day with the intention of torturing and or killing my family. The guys dead and if he's not, he's not walking EVER again.
could've bribed one of the police or knew one of them personally. We'll never know the truth of what made him do that sadly, but Judy is right about Dunblane. They're a wonderful town I've had the pleasure to visit myself and they're immensely proud of Andy and Jamie. I just wish the US would learn a lesson from Dunblane's people and control their weapons

Unfortunately, not many people (including me) cannot name one of the 16 children who died or their teacher, but the name of the (expletive expletive) who did it will forever be etched in my memory. I hope his name dies and is forgotten over time.

The one good thing that came out of the tragedy was Britain's gun laws was made stricter so such a horrific event will never happen again
