- What to bring for Fjällräven classic? well, there's a lot, and a lot to think about. in this FIRST PART we're getting into the mindset and trying out some gear that we intend to bring for Fjällräven Classic. We take a closer look at the Abisko view 2, sleeping pads from Exped and also two different sleeping bags from Fjällräven, the Singi 3 season and Move with bag. Most importantly we are having an awesome overnighter by the ocean! Thanks again to everyone who joined in for the live event!
When you see this I'll be out working on part 2 , if you have any questions please let me know!

That’s awesome you’re teaching your son to pick up and leave it better than you found it. I learned that back in the 80’s as a scout and we always do it on our family camping trips too. Like you said, we’ve made a mess of the place and we need to start somewhere trying to clean it up even if it’s only a couple pieces at a time.
Thanks for noticing it, it’s like you say, one price at a time. It’s also about teaching our kids about how to take care of the one planet we have. Thanks for watching!
Looks like a cool father and son trip in a great location. My son would love that. Nice video thanks
Hey Zhivan, it sure was! We had a really great time, just hanging out and enjoying our company! Thanks for watching!
Such a heart-warming video of You and Your son! Enjoyed it and it was also very informative and usefull! Keep up posting us!
Thanks brother! Did everything work out with the Germany adventure?
Great video brother and you've definitely been working on those arms! 💪suns out, guns out 💪 boom 👊
Hahaha, size down ftw! Thanks for watching brother!
Thanks for the review ted. Leave no trace is such a great attitude . Keep it up👍🏼....love to see more review from you
Thanks brother! Always nice to hear from you!
Nice, quick review. Definitely always a good thing to test out your gear before any trip. I signed up for my first classic and I’m so excited!
Hey Elvis! Thanks! See you there brother!
Great vid. Mr. T.
Can use silica packs in shoes overnight to help wick up moisture but not recommended for leaky bladder.
I’m so glad you’re back!!! :)
Your English is amazing!!! Just wanted to say so.
So you boosted my self esteem for the whole week! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Had an exped mat do that years ago. (Think it was an old DLX one), over inflation (too firm) causes the weld to fail in a small part then repeated over inflating rips all the way up the baffle seam. Good safety measure do not not to over inflate your mat. Should be just soft enough to fold it foot to head. If its stiff as a board and you lie down on it- the air inside the has nowhere to go and tries to equalise the pressure, outside seams are very thick in compairson to the internal ones- hence the rupture..
Hope this helps (still more durable than thermarest neo)
Got it, great tips! Thank you very much! Over inflating may have been the case here, going to be more careful in the future! Thanks again!
you should do a full review on those sleeping bags!
yeah, we will! thanks for the reminder!
Ted Weirum When you do, can you please show me how lofty it is by standing on top of it.
Sure thing champ!
Really nice overnighter test, what are your base weight of the backpack with all stuff you will pack?
Thanks! Haven’t measured exactly but I think it’s around 12-15kgs!
As always super nice movies that deserves a even bygger crowd! About the fjällräven tights your wearing. How are the campares to traditional FR pants?
Thanks brother! I think they’re good and they live up to the quality. They are perfect for occasions when you are walking for great distances, I really like the reinforcements in the back and knees.
Hey! Great video, as always. I enjoy your camera work man!
What kind of flysheet did you put on the ground? Can't seem to find a lightweight and resistant one where I live
Thanks brother! I searched for a cheap one on eBay, here it is: www.ebay.com/p/GRABBER-Outdoor-Space-127008-All-Weather-Blanket-Orange-5-X-7-Feet/1600043333?iid=143070394086
I have a B.Sc in Biology with a minor in Chemistry, and I can tell you that IF YOU DO eat the silica gel pack, it won't kill you. So don't worry, its not toxic, but its not meant to be eaten xD It would just pass through you.
Good to know in case you get real hungry some time ;)
Great video. Nice father and son trip. What hat are you wearing?
Tilley! Made a video about it! :)
Ted and others who may have this tent........could you share your thoughts ?
Thank you kindly for your time.
Hey brother, sure thing! It’s a great tent for warmer temperatures, awesome for summer watching the sunset/sunrise. Great storage inside the tent, the best ventilation. Practice setup a couple of times at home in case you need to do it in the dark. Great tent!
12:37 whaaaat Albert falling under the wather
yeah he is sort of a magician!
hey which startgroup are you? been watching your reviews and would be great to say hello if i see your on the trail !
great seeing you brother!
I don't like the idea of sleeping outside unless there is a large group. An acreage located at the foot of the mountains would allow trips into the forest maybe even utilizing an terrain vehicle and than return home for night. Two or three acreage locations sounds even better....almost forgot DC and Marvel books to always be reading.
I get what you mean, somehow this too in a weird way is very relaxing, but it takes some getting use to. I hope you give it a try someday!
@@TedWeirum I live close to this setting ruclips.net/video/IQyF6OSrpks/видео.html
@@TedWeirum This is a hike here in Canada (Alberta), so Fjallraven could be done here too ruclips.net/video/0Sp_g0G2MYY/видео.html
Hi, does anyone know if the hat he's wearing is from Fjällräven? if so what model is it? thank you
I asked his secretary, it turns out that it’s a Tilley hat, he made a video about it.
heyy Ted, How do you carry you camera/drone when you're hiking? do you have a chest holster or something? Because I think that the camera/drone doesnt fit in a keb 52 when you're carrying al you're camp gear
answered on the other video! :)
Hi, what is the brand and the name of the hat you where wearing? Great video by the way!
Hey Joris! Thank you! Here’s a video I made about the hat: ruclips.net/video/ER8aUtMs7Ro/видео.html
@@TedWeirum thank you!
How was the pad stored? The glue has a max temp before it risks to lose it's adhesive nature. Also if the pad gets warm the air inside the pad can expand causing weak adhesive to rupture. So if you store it in a tent or a cat on a hot summers day it might happen. Now it's time for the old trusty Fahrenheit, measuring temperature and all. www.exped.com/usa/en/mats-care-and-storage
Hey! All great points, the mat was stored inside my home when not in use. I also store it with the valve open. This happened when I was inflating the mat. I ended up getting a new one from Exped, I’m happy that they were able to work it out but the trust has been damaged. It’s hard to do something about this when on the trail. Thanks for your input!
@@TedWeirum Trust has indeed been damaged. I spend 60 nights a year in the oudoors and have had baffle failures on 2 exped winter lite's in no more than 25 nights. I'm always suuuuuper carefull and don't weigh much. You just cannot depent on it. And, i'm talking about the "updated" versions starting from +- june 2018 i think
lodevanierssel sorry to hear that, I got a new one from exped in a goodwill sort of thing , I believe that it’s the updated version but this is the final time..
Never again will I pitch a tent on a frequented way..... the flattened hard ground is tempting. But who uses it at night? Deer? Cows? Foxes? Sheep? etc
Good point, I’m not to concerned about the animals but as you saw people walk there frequently enough.. this place is really nice though and we walked far away from people but yeah, it’s summer and just like we did others like to hike around as well!
@@TedWeirum bought my Kaipak 38 on your review for a Camino later..... find it heavy with 10 litres of water and 25k. Did you do this camp on one pack minus what Albert was carrying? and how much did it weigh?
Albert carried a sleeping bag, sleeping pad and some food and clothes in his pack, I took the rest in mine. Don’t know the exact weight but I recon it was around 13-15 legs.
Regarding the kaipak, please elaborate, how do you mean it’s heavy?
@@TedWeirum Albert did well with his 12 ltrs! Do no intend carrying 10kg but conditioning and find my shoulders arch after an hour.
Paths you must be aware of if you come to the UK...... Cows use them and are stupid when going for their midnight drink. I do like the Kaipak but can't stand training ever and less so at my age.
Har du provat real turmat?
Väldigt många gånger.. :)
What the f happened to the sleeping mat😱😱
You tell me brother.. not too excited about it, got a new one now and the old one got replaced.. the trust have been broken though..
🇸🇪👍🏻
