I think I was the first one to buy this. I just happened to be looking at my email account when it came in to my inbox. I clicked it and bought it as fast as humanly possible. These kits are unbelievabley good sounding. I have all the SDX kits but this is my favorite.
This is stunning. I’m predominantly a metal guy, but I love the jazz EZX and I’ll certainly be getting this SDX too. Rock and metal snares are great at kicking you in the nuts, but these jazz snares just sing man! Every hit has a different resonance of overtones from the previous hit. From a “crack” to a “ping” and everywhere in between. I love Area 33 and origin for the same reason. My old ears can literally distinguish between left hand and right hand hits. The level of realism is getting intense! Any genre - Jazz, hiphop, even metal would love this!
Thanks, Toontrack. I’m super excited about this release. I’ve been secretly wishing for some more ‘Jazz’ releases for some time. But really, I just look forward to any releases. Loving the sounds. James has done a wonderful job! 🙏🏻
Such excellent work from the entire team on this! So musically recorded and produced. Can’t wait to use this on a wide variety of tracks in all genres.
I bought this today, and it has to be the most deeply sampled expansion they’ve ever done. Almost 13 gigs with all velocity layers for a single kit, not a bunch of room mics, and the hi-hats finally sound genuinely real. This expansion is gold.
If any of the PMs are reading the comments, if you could do a modern RnB / Neo-Soul / Funk kit, this would be all I need and could use SD3 exclusively!
this sounds so amazing!! i also would love to have the midi performances that were used in this particular video, they arent included arnt they? it would be nice to include them as a bonus in addition to the standard midis when you thought you are done with drums and you have already amazing sounding SDx, then toontracks opens the doors with just another amazing one! will buy it for sure
wow...sounds beautiful.... I do use brush kits a lot for artists, and a lot of the other SDX's that have brushes don't have the right snare sounds for me...this one has some great stuff, and it sounds like some of the kicks will also work out fine, which was my worry when knowing how jazz kicks can sound. (in stuff like Americana and such)
Woah, this sounds a m a z I n g . 😮 I was wondering, what’s the intuit of those pads in front of the Tom mics on one of the kits? Is it to muffle the sound more?
James was specific about how the drum kit's sound bleeds into the open microphones. When we recorded a kit with just one rack tom and kept one mic open for a second rack tom that wasn't physically there, he still wanted to simulate the presence of the drum. This helps to shield the microphone somewhat, mimicking the effect of having an actual drum in that position.
@@Harrysound I'm not the best person to ask not being a guitarist myself, but maybe a search online for beginner jazz guitar songs. George Gershwin's Summertime came up as a good option. Hope it helps.
I wish this software would be accessible for blind users. I have been waiting for support to get back to me, but nothing. I am a blind musician and if this were accessible, a lot more people would be able to use this fantastic product.
Some kits have 2 toms, some kits have 4. The toms that were original to the kits were recorded, meaning we did not add random unmatched toms to kits that did not originally have them.
@@toontrack Thanks! I give the feedback because while I understand some kits are 2 toms, it makes them very easy to skip over using because all the toms would have to be replaced if you need more than just the 2.

One of my two dream SDX's. Already purchased. Sounds bang on!
Which one is your other one?
@@bg357wg A "neo-soul" kit.
@@BostonRubyEric You mean there’s a Neo Soul SDX? Or is there an SDX with that kit?
@@bg357wg I meant a neo-soul SDX would be my second dream SDX. Jazz was my first.
sorry for the confusion.

I was going to try and wait until next week to grab this, but the lust got the better of me. Downloading now. What an excellent sounding library!
Great! Here's to much, much new inspiration and amazing-sounding music making!
whoa... amazing! love how unique this expansion is to your other offerings. itchy buying finger for sure
Thanks! We appreciate hearing that!

All demos were made with the MIDI included in the SDX.
@@toontrack awesome, thank you!
Top shelf SDX! 👏👍
Nice! I've been wanting a pack just like this ever since I started using SDX!
My fav engineer doing this ! Can't wait to get it...
He's amazing!

Just when I was gonna buy the software you released this Jazz SDX! I'll pair it with a heavier set for maximum versatility in the two SDX pack.
Never mind jazz; I've put four of these cymbals, a cowbell and the woodblock on my virtual kit, and I play punk/metal.
Sounds incredible ✌🏻

Special thanks for swirls! I hope, my jazz waltz will become real finally.
Btw Norman is such an awesome drummer!
James Fiber? Nice.
I feel like I want to play jazz but I understand nothing about it
Do it. It's very much worth it. Start with some simple time...play what you feel. Let it grow on you. 👍
The best way to learn jazz/the most important part is to listen to it
@@SaS-Music I’m a guitarist, is there like a simple cliche “standard” I should go learn right now

Interesting, but too many sets appear to be missing toms for me to get on board.
