Otto Kissenberth was one of the few aviators who flew throughout the war and survived, beginning his career in an unarmed Pfalz Parasol monoplane. He was also unusual in that he flew wearing spectacles. He didn’t survive the war very long, being killed in a climbing accident in 1919.
Albatros D fighter series are my favorites among the WWI fighters. The Austro-Hungarian Oeffag modified the lower wings spar, or the joint? and made it the strongest of the Albatros fighters. Also had the stronger Austro-Daimler engine, more than 200HP. The local machine guns were problematic ones, on the other hand. Still that's my favorite subtype as I'm from Hungary and many of our pilots flew and fought in that plane.

Awesome Albatros. Crazy livery but still. Thanks for posting a great treasure that still flies, even if it is a replica. Outstanding.
An elegant and beautiful streamlined design, in spite of its structural flaws.

It’s a beautiful thing!
It is hard to fathom that the aircraft that was invented 15 years earlier and was already in full use by all participating combatants in WW1.
Best sounding ww1 fighter!

☠BLACK BARON☠ 11:05 That was the "Speed O Meter" attached on the wingspan the pilot had to read from his cockpit? Supa dupa restoration, well done 👍
It's a reproduction. None of it is original.
