  • I went to my favorite market in Saigon, looking for the freshest ingredients to inspire a new dish. The incredible fresh creamy tofu is what started the idea for this awesome soup. I loved the idea of using tomato juice for the broth. Replacing the wheat noodles with fresh rice noodles, I think this dish could be a new classic.

    It's true, tofu is highly underrated. I think in the west it's mainly considered a meat substitute, which is a shame because it can be cooked in ways quite different to meats.

    • @yeschefwithchadkubanoff
      @yeschefwithchadkubanoff  10 месяцев назад +6

      And we never get the opportunity to try truly fresh tofu that’s still warm from frying

      @@yeschefwithchadkubanoff I heard there are benefits to freezing tofu, something about the ice crystals breaking down its internal structure making the tofu more absorbent? Haven't tried it with fresh tofu though.

      @@yeschefwithchadkubanoff You should search for "Đậu hũ nhà làm" store, they will make the tofu directly from the bean in the morning and the quality is unmatched.

    Hoa thiên lý is not heavenly flower. If you want to translate it, it can be roughly translated to a thousand mile flower. Thiên is a thousand and lý is a metric unit of length which is kind of equal to 1 mile. Hoa thiên lý is the symbol of an undying love which cannot be separated event by a thousand mile.
