Seems like a good solution with minimal initial setup. For me though, a one time slightly harder setup of a VPN like OpenVPN or Wireguard does the same remote access for free without a recurring monthly payment.
Oh wow! You’ve been really consistent and it looks like you’ve gain a few thousand followers since I was last on RUclips. I’ll make sure to drop in every Saturday. I just picked up my 3D printers from my mom’s house and will be getting back into it. I might even spend a bit to get a CNC machine for aluminum.
Voodoo! I haven’t seen you in a bit. How awesome. CNC machines are great! We stream every Wednesday on the ModBotArmy channel too. If you get a chance drop by and say hello 😬. We usually start at 12pm pst.
Have you tried the spaghetti detectives remote feature? It basically gives you the same interface as OCTOprint and have control of your printer remotely. Much better solution than this.
I use Octoeverywhere because of the push notifications. I do pay one of the low end supporter levels because I want to support this service. I have had no trouble connecting remotely from ant devices. The cat has a door and can exit the house if there is a fire that spreads beyond the steel table the printers sit on.
I inbstalled this plug-in when it first came out. I don't use the service frequently, but when I do have occasion to use it, it has worked very well. I would highly recommend it as well.
@@NotTodayMaybeTomorrowOk I use the spaghetti detective for it's main purpose and also to get emails when a print is finished. I only use OctoEveywhere to be able to check my print progress from work. I've also used it to start a print from work and then shut down the system when I print is finished
for the loggin is is the same as the one you used to setup octoprint or octoeverywhere ? i tried my account and even the preset username and password for the pi
I love the octoprint videos. I use octoprint myself and haven't seen a video that is recent talking about Octofarm. Have you used Octofarm recently? Seems like a great idea but not really supported as heavily.
Hi, just an off topic Q, is there a high temperature resistant and flexible resin for mold making that will peel away from the hot liquid mold when cooled? Cheers!
Very nice vid. I installed OctoEverywhere! but when restarting octopi it goes to safe mode now and then... So uninstall :( Too bad, because it's really handy!
I like the idea of remotely controlling OctoPrint off-network. However, I currently use a Wyze Cam for remote visual monitoring, I use Wyze plugs for a remote emergency stop, and a Wyze smoke detector with a rule to turn off the Wyze plugs if smoke is detected. So paying for additional video features is a no-go for me.
@@adrianstealth340 However the remote control aspect of the spaghetti detective is completely free. I don’t think there’s really a need for OCTOeverywhere at all.
Yeah. But what if it catches on fire. You can just hit stop. They should have a little extinguisher. And octoprint camera. The I would feel good about it. It's like living a iron on all the time. I love.my printers. But like children I wouldn't leave the alone.lol
Wyze smoke detector + Wyze plugs. Set a rule in the app to turn one plug off when smoke is detected and turn the other plug on. The plug that turns off is your emergency stop that the printer is plugged in to. The one that turns on can be connected to a relay that opens a valve on a CO2 extinguisher. Add a Wyze camera for remote viewing (turn motion notifications off). You can manually trigger the E-Stop in the app if you see a failed print without setting off the CO2.
0:36 That's a little overly optimistic if you ask me. While I have no direct reason to distrust OctoEverywhere, it is a bit of software that connects from your private network to some internet service and bypasses most firewalls your router might have. If OctoEverywhere ever gets hacked it would result in the hackers getting full access to your local network. Additionally, since they have access to your 3D printer this could be a fire hazard as well. All I'm saying is... be careful, these types of services are an inherent risk.

I've been running this for about a year, works great and I wouldn't setup a new printer without it.

@@NotTodayMaybeTomorrowOk AFAIK that isn't a free solution.

Have you tried The spaghetti detective? I have used both and I don’t think this compares. What are your thoughts?
I've been using this for a while now and it's mint
Have you given the spaghetti detective a tray? If so what are your thoughts on a comparison between the two?

If you have a second pc at the location you can use chrome remote desktop. I have used it for years I can check up on it from any device with chrome.
Is it compatible with ender 3 v2 neo?

Spaghetti Detective seems to do similar plus it watches your print for you
Does it cost ?
