TWN End of Winter and Start of Spring 2001

The final Highway Conditions of the 2000/2001 winter season on The Weather Network. Then the 2001 spring programming launches with the Morning Report top of the hour headlines and the local forecast

MétéoMédia still retained the previous 1999 Highway Conditions music (a Sound Ideas/Proud Music track) up to the morning of April 2, 2001 - which was what The Weather Network used for at least some of the 1999-2000 winter season. Also they changed to the spring/summer programming a week later than TWN at the time, with the satellite ticker bar going through 12 major cities across Canada in rotation before sometime that year relegated to just 10 in New Brunswick, Quebec, and Ontario.

I used to always get up for 5am local time to watch TWN on the first days of new programming for the new looks, new music, and new features... well new of the old features as Mr. Simms put it, lol. I guess that's true. And this was definitely a pretty cool tune too.

I used to see Scott Simms on TWN all the time, now he is a MP in ottawa.

I love this it’s so catchy. Too bad they don’t make it like this anymore. The weather network music stinks today.

Noticed something else that maybe others have seen. Even this was the new spring local forecast, the PMX info looks like it was still on winter mode since the background to the satellite and radar still had the clouds from the previous season (which would return anyway in May '01) and on the 'coming up' screen at the end it still has Sunshine Destinations listed as being at :08.
