how do you create cue points that are not beat gridded to the track? I turned the quantize and snap mode off but that didn't work. I want more creative freedom
After I've set this up, how do I lock them? It seems that even after I've hit the "lock" on my track, that I'm still accidentally setting cue points or overwriting cue points. Thanks for the tips.
Great video, but how do you upload or download songs into Traktor Pro without running into a "file cannot be played" message do to copyright blocks? If anyone could help out that'd be great.
This is for pre-arranged sets and shit; not for everything you have. 90% of the time I mix on the fly, but for a few tracks I have with short intros/outros, unusual arrangements, etc, it's awesome to be able to put markers and cue points so I don't fuck up in front of a crowd.
I have a problem. Create a Cue point . When I copy the same track to another folder or another computer cue points disappear . Is there any way to get the cue point saved when the audio track is copied to a folder or another computer?
perhaps someone could clarify something, in another ean video he talks about manual beatgridding and how you gotta find a perfect hit to place your beatgrid cue point on it.... but more often than not, it's not in the beginning of that track. so is there a way that after i fixed my beatgrid i could remove that beatgrid cue point? or move it to the begining? the reason why im asking is because i want to use the phrase counter so i can read how many phrases (i usually set it to 8 bars from settings) are in between each cue point and having the beatgrid cue point kinda messes that up... some clarification would be great thanks :D
Let's say I have a track on A deck with fade-out point, mixing in track on B with fade-in point as soon as A reaches its auto point. BUT, when I have "more than one" fade-outs on track A, and A progresses to the next fade-out, it messes up the B and make it jump back to its first fade-in. Any way to prevent that?
This is my method for organizing cuepoints in songs. (beatgrid is NOT stored as a hot cue) 1.) Load Marker at the first beat of the song 2.) First drop of the main song 3.) End of 1st Breakdown 4.) End of 2nd Breakdown 8.) Last beat at the end of the track Make sure you set up a "Beats to Cue" in your Deck Header section.
Dj Rafi Turn off the snap function in the mixer section. You'll see an S and a Q under your main volume. If the S is lit up, that's what is keeping you from placing your points where you want. GLHF.
Your cue points and beat grids are stored in your $COLLECTION.NML file. You can right-click your collection and export it to a USB stick (check the 'copy tracks to destination' box), then import it on another PC. I do this all the time.
Great videos im studying all these techniques on dj tech tools for when i finally have enough money to buy my midi fighter :D lol looking at all the ones in the background are soo torturous i want one hella bad
I use the website 8tracks . com. U can pick any genre of music and users have compiled custom playlists for that type. I just leave it playing while im doing nothing important and whenever I hear a good song I look up the artist
I agree with what you said, in fact i have a controller myself, but the thing is that 90% of the digital "djs" do not use it as you described. right now sync is not being used to its advantage, it is being abused. the art , the skill, the soul of mixing is vanishing cuz of those things and people who abuse em
Another awesome video brother, thanks for all the easy to understand helpful tips and tricks.

Great video, but how do you upload or download songs into Traktor Pro without running into a "file cannot be played" message do to copyright blocks? If anyone could help out that'd be great.
The issue is the file's permissions (normally) make sure that Traktor can access the file :)
I figured it out, I had to download Quicktime so the songs could be shared with third party programs. Thanks though.

Is there a file that holds all my cue points to play from another computer ?

on the area he is talking about at 34 seconds etc, how has he turned off the white markers that traktor sets every 32 bars? I have no need for it.
Those are minute markers. You can turn them off in Traktor's settings.
It's "I could be the one" by Avicii vs Nicky Romero
Good advice!
