For those wondering, the last 2 materia on Aerith at the end are a 2nd Magic Up and a Refocus material. You can see a couple frames of the former and determine the latter by comparing stats.
If you go through frame-by-frame, you can follow the action as follows:
Battle starts with Concentration Activated for Tifa
Block the opening generic hits from Weiss
As soon as he backs off, use ATB Boost
Cast Blizzaga from both Cloud and Aerith (so they will hit after the pressure begins)
Focused Strike as Weiss' first special attack comes in to hit
Spam normal attacks while the blizzagas come in
Focused Strike again, and spam more square attacks
Blizzara from Tifa when Weiss is tossed into the air to maintain pressure
Spam square attacks, Weiss is about to be staggered.
True Strike is activated before the stagger begins but hits just after it starts (160->190%)
Aerith casts Arcane Ward on Cloud, Cloud fires off Thundaga
Tifa does another True Strike the moment the previous one ends (190->220)
Omnistrike from Tifa and another Thundaga from Cloud (220->245)
Whirling Uppercut (with Dodge cancel as soon as it hits) (245->250)
True Strike (250->280)
Repeat the last 2 lines twice more, using whirling upperecut to supply ATB for True Strike (280-350%)
Weiss dies as a final Whirling Uppercut is thrown.
I'm about to try it for myself, now that I'm done all my analyzing, notes, and grinding missing materia. Hope this helps everyone else. Remember, you can use the , and . keys on desktop to frame-by-frame through youtube videos!

@@kevinburke1325 He really is very hard, yeah. I wasn't able to replicate this strat perfectly, but I realized that I could build on this to do something similar that wasn't so focused on speedrunning. Was a little more normal and casual about slowly building his pressure by dodging his attacks and stuff, and then once he was actually staggered, tried to pull off what this video did in terms of getting out all the damage during the stagger (since he changes forms after the first stagger). I got him to like 5% by the time the stagger ended, and finished off the last sliver of health while he was gearing up for the form change.
@LeonardMeltsner I think I should probably level up my materia some more and try to beat ff7 up to chapter 17 on hard mode first I guess. I did the stagger increase and all of that, but Tifa's limit break only got him down 1/4th of health. His second phase is what throws me off. I got the first phase down mostly, but I don't think I am dealing enough damage or something.
Pretty sure we all knew Tifa could finish a man in 23 seconds! 😁

It's pretty fun to see how with every upload in the passing days, the time to beat Weiss kept on depleting. First it was 3 mins, then 2, then 1, and now seconds?! Absolutely awesome people.
I just noticed he was uppercutting then using parry to cancel the animation to go into the next true strike. look at how when weiss is staggered he slides into the next true strike. that's just epic dude.

@@MaliceNX I definitely have to try it out! Last night I got my personal best with 41 seconds using firaga strats but blizzaga is most definitely the way! My party shortcut inputs are horrible tho I need to work on that hehehe

I think many would appreciate the tricks to be explained, as this is a lot more than the loadout, how you manage atb, the commands issued during battle (it happens so fast), animation cancels and so on. Also the video faded out before all of aerith materia was shown.

steadfast block in beginning, atb boost - focused strike to dodge, blizzara, focused strike, quick command for aerith and cloud of blizzara then when staggered spam magic / true strike. but you have to use the quick commands for the other 2 party members. I think it's R2/L2 + L1. although I don't know how the stagger gauge filled that damn fast.
@@sublimazed ATB stagger + true strike adds Tifa ATB. ATB assist + 2 true strike adds allies’ ATB. Synergy on Arieth adds fire spell from Aerith while Weiss staggering also helps add ATB. Arcane ward on Cloud helps him send a free -ga spell to Weiss which adds ATB too
About skill master, on Tifa, she used focused strike before staggering, then blizzara upon staggering and followed by true strike which triggered the skill master ATB boost
Skill master materia was also on both cloud and aperitif, suppose they should use it too but probably he finished Weiss off before triggering the materia😂

I think she and aerith are the strongest in their respective fields out of the whole party and the enemies they deal with
Yep, also why martial arts/ monk characters are the strongest because they deal as much damage as weapon wielders with just their punches and kicks. You wield a weapon because you are not strong enough, just like you wear armour because you are weak. So Tifa punching and kicking in a sports bra and miniskirt shows that she is by far the strongest in FF7.
All of this is cool and all.. but i'm still impressed at how he used focused strike to dodge and pressure..

Hey man I just recently finished up Rebirth so I wanted to revisit Remake and beat Weiss because I hadn't done it yet. Found this guide. Beat him in a few tries thanks!

This game needs an animation cancel guide, as the speed of the attacks is insane, I also had to slow down the video to 25% speed to see the inputs, the guy playing this is like a robot with how fast inputting stuff.
The direction gaming is going in with gamers favouring fast inputs, low reaction times etc.
But I am glad SE did think of gamers like me in this game and made most abilities usable on the tactics menu.
And people are scared of Sephiroth? I fear Tifa XD

How to beat Weiss:
Common player: rely in gotterdammerung and revive, pay attention to his skill, dodge, use magic in second phase, avoid the crazy insane 9999 damage, cancel the rejuvenation, etc etc.

There is a specific attack that leaves him fatigued, you have to dodge that attack and then try to stun him as quickly as possible with skills that increase stun, the thing is that this player makes his team automatically attack spells without selecting their menus, which is not I know how he does it

I have a question on short cuts. I imagine the contorted party members short cut is always L1 but how do I tell If Aerith or Tifa are L1 + R2 or L2?
hi, from the right menu(characters bar) L1+L2 is middle character L1+R2 is top character it's depend on who you control.
