Hello ya'll, this is Satsuma 3042. I am going to try playing the Dream Theater song, Pull me under. Hope the fans of John Pettrucci try to learn this song. Got to love this tone with Piezo guitar pickup and swtiches that instantly sounds like an acoustic guitar. As you can see the guitar tab, when playing it is very touchy with the sustain control. You can't pick too hard or soft either, making it extra cautious. I would highly recommend picking each intro focusing to ring it off without cutting it. Still very tricky, but carefully control with right and left hand. As for the riffs, I used palm muting technique and aggressively strumming the power chords. It is extremely difficult as you gradually transition into open palm shuffling your left hand techniques. Next step, you easily realize that stretching up is also hard because we may tend to alternate pick regularly, but as you can see the picking method here is different. Towards the later portion you are required to down pick so fast like Metallica lol. The bottom line, you may get frustrated and easily give up. But take it slow and work on palm mute picking with a slower tempo. Lots of stretching and fingering techniques, including ascending and descending the neck, When I first tried to learn this song I was like Oh crap! You gotta be kidding me lol. My perspective is that riffs and melodic parts are carefully composed with thorough music theories. Again, this was a very challenging song. Towards the end, I doubt many can swiftly position their pinky finger to play that tough arppegios lol. Keep practicing! Repetition is the key, Morning and evening. Even for me I spent enormous time. It has been almost a year since Eddie Van Halen passed away. While I should be rehearsing EVH, somehow I got sidetracted and learning DT song lol. Definitely, I need to practice for EVH special memorial event coming up. Alrighty, thanks that is it for now.

1970年生まれの私は1982年に出会ったKISSを切っ掛けに、Cream,Zep,Purple,Black Sabbath,Queen,KISS,Judas Priest,Rainbow,Van Halen,Cheap Trick, Ozzy Osborne Band, Iron Maidenなどが好きですが、私にとっての最新のバンドは1992年にPull me underを出したときのDream Theaterです。それ以降は時が止まっています。薩摩さんの選曲は私にピッタリハマっています。
ちょうどPULL ME UNDERに挑戦中ですごく参考になりました‼️
ストレッチのアルペジオはジョンの教則ビデオに出てくるウォームアップフレーズそのままのような形が多いですけど、かなり難しくて泣きが入りました😂

Sugi ga chounankan desu. The next song is extremely difficult. Kono kusuri yubi ga kusemon nan desu yo ne. This middle finger can be a bit tricky. LOL
