This is literally a video capturing where I lived for almost 10 years while in active Heroin & Cocaine addiction.
I still live close, and I drive through here daily, but I can’t stop. Even with 10 years clean, I will always respect the power of my addiction.
Some of the most beautiful people I have ever met live here. There are also hurting people here, so that’s where you hear about the violence and crime because as we know, hurt people..... hurt people....
Will always love Fort Worth deeply, I am the 6th generation in my family to be born here and not leave. Beauty of genealogy.

I had a cleaning rout downtown in 2005. I would see all of the regulars on the streets on Monday morning. Suddenly I started seeing all of these strange people downtown. I`m wondering what the heck is going on. Then it dawned on me, these must be Katrina refugees. That`s exactly what it was. I felt very sorry for them because I know how it feels, I was homeless when I first got to Fort Worth 25 years earlier.

One abandoned house = statistical error. If people leave entire cities - this should frantically fuck the brain of the mayor and his subordinates. He is losing money, he is losing taxes! This should be a headache for those in power.
I do not know who is responsible for this city, but I know for sure that his hands are growing out of his ass. Give this guy (mayor) a city-planning simulator. To manage a real city, his skill level is too low.

I think it's the people that make the projects livable or dangerous. I'm a single mom of 4 kids and I did everything I could to avoid moving to the projects but I couldn't afford the rent hikes and daycare. I told myself I'd move here so I could go to school and leave as soon as I graduate. I graduate this May and will be moving late summer. I mind my business and monitor who my kids hang with. It's not as bad as I thought it would be and I'm glad I put my pride aside. I just wouldn't get comfortable here. You save $ or go to school, but then you leave.

A local rapper came to their park and threw money on the kids lol I remember thinking how weird that was. There was no carpet anywhere in the house. ... potential for common amenities like gyms and pools BEAUTIFUL RED BRICK and green grass- these places are sustainable and good for tax revenues...i even heard the trolley was coming back around stop 6....Sad tho you have to approach development from INCOME NOT HOUSINGS!!!!!!!!!!!.....CANT STRESS THIS ENOUGH or the gentrification will/ can cause Displacement. Theres a lot of neighborhoods that F.W. is tearing down to rebuild hoods. Best example of a recent rebuild is Rosedale St from intersection of Riverside to Highway I35 and parallel to that is Vickery, both streets turning out very nice. Plus, how the medical district took over the area, buying out residential properties left and right to expand healthcare economy. Both these neighborhoods use to be very rough before 2008. Seems to me that urban planning is very ambitious to redesign the hood into middle class neighborhoods.
