The Espresso display is a beautiful portable monitor but the pen is still only ok.. maybe a little worse than OK if you are trying to get clean line work.

Wow the cost. I thought this could be a sneaky tablet-display replacement but not at that price. Impressed that despite the wobblyness of the pen you still make it work, the illustration shown there looks just like anything else you do on much better products, hats off for that!

Hey Brad, great video as always. Just wondering if you’ve come across the Alogic touch monitors? It says it’s stylus compatible (and they do sell stylus’ too) so I’m wondering what that’s like for creative professionals. It looks like it could be a really great solution when combined with their Clarity fold stand, as it would suit both regular computer activities as well as a more comfortable pen based workflow without the need for an additional device (maybe a shortcut keyboard). I’d love to know your thoughts or even see a review.

I use it for professional printable work that can easily go over 100 millions polygons, I sure can’t do that on any Ipad at the moment.

@@TheGuraGuraMan yes, but you can use the iPad with some apps as an external screen for windows (admittedly I don’t rate them, and I with Sidecar is pretty janky too) and Samsung tabs have the ability to work like side car on windows, apparently with better results. Also there are third party apps to turn your Android tablet into a Cintiq alternative.
Which iPad Pro you have? Surely the 16gb of ram model of the M2 can push Nomad sculpt pretty far.

Where like on EMR options from WACOM using the INTOUS ONE tech, formally BAMBOO... that's a spring loaded end that depresses. On the pens that have that feature, usually third party. If this unit was a 17" Android tablet, it'll be awesome. It's main problem is that its only a monitor at an overly steep price that's sized too small. It doesn't offer any advantage over 16" penable laptops from samsung, LG, HP. Lenovo etc etc. 4k is overkill for this size, 2.5k is plenty good.
For similar money, you can easily find a great laptop that uses the same microsoft pentech. The microsost laptop 4 or 5 comes to mind. Or grab an ipad pro 12.9. Superior AP choices and pen tech.
This stand alone unit will be DOA just like all those tiny 12-16" drawing monitors from wacom, huion, Xpen. The drawing experience from these monitors ain't all that to justify hauling around extra cords.
