Love this guy's energy... Toyota needs to make it rain on his next paycheck. He's easily bringing in more people to get cars from Toyota than most ads out there.👍✌️👍✌️
Jeff, you mention the safety feature of the engine cutting off when you open the door. My wife has a Grand Cherokee and has remote start however it does not shut off when we open the door but...BUT the car cannot be shifted into gear until the fob is detected, depress gas and push start again. All while the engine is running. So in the case of a bad person coming and getting into the car, if they do not posses the key fob all they are getting is cooled off and nothing else. You gotta tell the powers that be to make this change on Toyota!
The issue with that is if the person that has the fob is close enough to the vehicle for the key fob to be detected but the person is not actually in the vehicle (like putting a child in the child seat) then someone could take off with the car. This is a huge issue now with "slider" crimes. I wish I had the option in the car settings to pick what disable feature I prefer though.
So then while the bad person is trying to figure out how to start the Jeep your wife is now greeted by the bad person in her vehicle since he is sitting in the Jeep trying to figure out what he is doing wrong!
Absolutely ridiculous that the car turns off. No other car does this! I have a Honda accord with a factory remote start and you can’t even get into the car unless you have the key fob never mind drive away with it. Stupid!!!
Thanks, brother! I was just able to use this to remote start my 2009 kia sportage! Had the car for a few months now, and was actually getting quotes on getting a remote starter installed, when I saw your video. I thought the keyfob that came with the car was just a vestige, that the remote starter had been removed or something.. Because when you pressed the start button nothing would happen.. But something about hitting the lock button a time or two before you hit start gets it to turn on.. I'm feeling so much better about the deal I got on this car now. The place I bought the car from didn't tell me it had this either.. Thanks again!
i have a fully loaded 2009 Venza, it works. I actually discovered this by watching a previous video you did about remote starters. I also drive a 2013 Venza, it doesn't work on that one. I think you have to have JBL/Smartkey /push button start combo to have the remote start feature.
Works on my 2020 Tacoma. I can use the key fob or the Toyota iOS app on my iPhone. However both features will no longer work after the yearly subscription is over. Disappointing that I have to pay Toyota yearly to keep this feature.

Hey Toyota. Not cool. Just bought a 2021 LE and it does not have remote start. Now I'm stuck with no remote start. Why would you not make it standard ????
I hate that my Camry shuts engine off after doing remote start. My friends other cars like Ford Mustang, BMW, Alfa Romeo, etc.. all run after remote engine stop and wont’t shut off the moment u unlock door or doors. Toyota should enable a way to allow the car to not shut off by default if the owner should choose that option.

Make sure the ac was on when you turned off your vehicle. I have had my heater on in the evening when it was cool and turned it off. Because the heat was on from the night before the heat comes on when I remote start it. I had to remember to turn the ac on right before I turned off the car in the evening. i have remote start on my car and i can start the car but the air doesn't kick on and i live in Canada where the winter is really rough so even though the car stays on for 10 minutes when remote started it doesnt do anything i still find it fogged up and cold inside
So apparently Toyota has been removing this feature so that people will subscribe to their subscription service. The service is lame because the car can only stay started for a minute which is not enough time for a hybrid to get warm.
Thank you so much! I didn't even know my 2021 Camry xse had this feature. The people at the dealership never told me about it. I'm in South Florida & it is currently 98° but feels like 110 at least. So thank you!!! 😊
Jeff, you should have done your homework with this one. Any Toyota, at least for the 2020+ model years, that has the base radio upgraded to the "premium audio" also automatically gets remote start. So yes, you could buy a XLE Highlander or Rav4 and not have remote start if you didn't opt for the radio upgrade.
Maybe you should. First, there is NO TOYOTA model made that has a trim level that offers the "base radio" which has any type of option or package to go to "premium audio" in any vehicle. You can only update from base to the plus radio. Plus radios can generally be updated to Premium but only on cars that come standard with the plus system. And two, EVERY LE AND UP HIGHLANDER, GAS OR HYBRID, REGARDLESS OF THE RADIO, COMES WITH REMOTE CONNECT/REMOTE START BECAUSE ALL OF THEM COME AT LEAST STANDARD WITH THE PLUS RADIO WITH STANDARD REMOTE CONNECT/REMOTE START AS STANDARD. Now yes, there are plenty of Rav4 XLE and XLE Premiums that lack this feature, but as far as the Highlander, you are 100% incorrect. Go look it up and prove me (and Jeff) wrong.
When you remote start the suv it turns off when you open de door or unlock the doors?? I hate that should be like others brands.....
