Just finished my first big cook - a Christmas Brunch with the family (7 of us). Asked for everyone’s favorite and made bacon, turkey bacon, smash sausage, hash browns, pancakes, French toast, and eggs 3 ways - all on the Blackstone. I used mostly all your methods and recipes and got great feedback from everybody. Thanks for all of your ideas as I get started on my flattop endeavors. Keep up the great work.
Bob thats tears to my eyes....thanks so much for relaying that to me...thats what its all about...im Definitely not the best but I think I can help get people THERE faster then let them take over...Merry Christmas BOB...much appreciated
Merry Christmas all! Just got a 36" Blackstone as a company gift. Never had a griddle but do a lot of smoking and cast iron on grill. I subscribed instantly on the first video I watched!
I can't give you enough accolades for this, your recipes got me, and my family, on the griddle trip for sure. My immediate family now owns 5 griddles, and I just gave my Chief Biologist his and guess where the first channel he went was? Doc Griddle, the Flat Top King. I have made all of these on the griddle, super easy and tasty but what we all came to realize, this generated family time, the most precious time we have. Thank you Neal and Amy!!
I've been using a griddle pan on a kettle grill, got my blackstone recently still need to assemble and season. Easy recipes are always useful even if you aren't a beginner. After a long day at work no one wants a complicated cook.
Great episode!! I think our next cook will be smashys, or cheesesteaks. Christmas Breakfast was a success, my older son took helm on this cook. We did 6lbs of bacon, hash browns, 4 packs of sausages, and boatload of eggs. Your tips and tricks definitely helped us pull off this massive breakfast. Cheers y’all, and again Merry Christmas to you and the Fam 👊🏼😎🤙🏼
Thats a perfect feeling....like dating when your a kid....crazy how the feeling comes back..honestly take your time...things will happen fast and dont over do any cook...less ingredients is better when starting and relax...just use every cook as a learning curve. reach out if we can help
Hay Neil and Amy and kids , this is FRANK FROM MONTANA, I really hope all you guys have a great Holliday season....THANK YOU FRANK FROM MONTANA........
Neal & Amy, this was a GREAT video! I would like to see more videos where you are doing 3 different foods in one video like this! This was awesome!!! Oh, and, i refrained from licking the screen again, but i tell yah, i was real tempted, but my wife was watching the video with me, so i didn`t dare, i was drooling instead😳 Merry Christmas to you and your whole family guys.
My grocer occasionally has shaved beef, not ribeye but very suitable. Just did cheesesteaks using that and flour tortillas (the baguette planned for this cook got eaten before I could remonstrate). So think cheesesteak as a fajita. Yummy
The beautiful think about a flattop for someone graduating from a skillet, is the pancakes & French toast cook so evenly and when you have the temp set right on the flattop they reach a golden hue you likely can't achieve in a skillet. Mr. Flat Top King, this was a very good video for all the folks that just stepped up their game! And if that happens to be you, welcome aboard! Here's my method for epic French toast: Plan for 1 egg per slice of bread. Into the egg mixture, season with salt/pepper as if you were making scrambled eggs. Add about 1 tsp each of heavy cream, butter, and mayo. Whisk well. As Neal demonstrated with the pancakes, put down a nice layer of butter onto the flattop. Then quickly dip each slice of bread and arrange on the flattop. Once the French toast slices are golden brown on each side, remove to a warm platter and then cook your eggs -- not overworking them. There was a prior video Neal posted that showed how to pull your eggs gently to pull the curds while allowing the uncooked eggs to fill in the void you created. Pull the eggs off when they are about 90 pct. cooked and allow them to set on the platter. Your friends and family will appreciate you :)
I should have added, you can plan for 1.5 to 2 eggs per slice of bread if you like. For all the right reasons, no mater how many eggs I cook on the flattop, there are never leftovers!
@@TheFlatTopKing Negative on the sugar! You are right, the French toast is savory and the sweetness comes from the maple syrup and some melted butter on top. It's a very nice contrast of flavors.
I'll have to try the muffin mix to my pancakes. I found a great alternative to milk which is any flavor coffee Creamer. There is so many different flavors... one of my favorites is the vanilla caramel or the rice crispy treats flavor.
Awesome...we did a cinnamon toast cereal french toast sticks...we used coffee creamer as well...we used to do that alot in the Navy because lack on ingredients
Alrighty then. That will be an excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner day! Followed by 3 days of cardio and weights lol. Well worth it though! Merry Christmas all
Mary Christmas all. I can't wait to get a Blackstone. But first I got to see if my health will let me. Otherwise I'll keep using a 20 some year old countertop thing that has no legs or drip tray lol.
@@TheFlatTopKing 🤔 it's cold as fudge down here. They are putting signs up that say bridges ice before the road. I don't recall ever seeing those signs posted in Florida.
Niel, Neal ??? You slay me! - "In no particular order, breakfast has got to be number one." LOL! I got a kick out of that one. For what it's worth, I agree completely. Although, and you're probably going to ban me from your channel for this one: I'm not a huge fan of pancakes. Now, Omelets, fried eggs, bacon, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, almost anything else, hell yeah! As far as cheesesteaks go, you are the undisputed champion. There's a small local chain here in Ohio that is one of my favorite places. They make their cheesesteak on a flat top behind the bar and they do it almost exactly the same way you do. My favorite is their mushroom cheesesteak with hot pepper relish. I would eat one of these a week, but I can't afford it, financially or health wise. LOL Anyway, Merry Christmas to you and your lovely wife.🎄Please keep the videos coming in 2023. Your channel is very aptly titled. You are indeed The Flat Top King! 🤴 🔥t
WOW thanks for the nice words James...you know honestly I am not a pan of pancakes and actually besides having a few bites for tv I dont eat em or order em either...im right there with ya on the breakfast choices....im more of a crispy waffle fan if I had to
@@TheFlatTopKing I figured you might have. If anyone could do it, it would be you. In fact, I said "you can't " purposely, hoping you would say "Challenge Accepted! " Alas, all hope is lost.
Well, I guess I'm about to say something negative, but it's really not. The wife hasn't used a box pancake mix in over 20-25 years. But I do have a box of Bisquick, just in case I was in a hurry. Now for the other and you are right! 👍 This is what I gave you as so as you said that! You and Amy and your two daughters! Have a Very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
This was a great video for beginners and I would say they have to be in the top 5 by 99%. All of them were winners. As far as seasoning, well I would think the best one eventually will be your own. Looking forward to that happening. Now with all that being said there was a minor flaw in this video. Pretty sure I heard someone say "Where's my bite" and pretty sure I never saw her get it. So I went back and watched the video a second time just to see if it ended the same way and sure enough "She did not get her bite" as the video ended the same as before.
hahaahh we were worried about the length of the video...so it got the ax...I have ordered some special things for my Seasoning....getting excited for sure...I just hope people like it as much as I do...ahhahahaha make it then it flops...
