  • People have always wanted to know why and what is next. This video is me. It's a little insight into my life. Its my "why". It's raw. It's how I feel and what motivates me to be the best I am capable of being.

You are very talented Doctor. You have a way of explaining things so I can understand. You also have a very calming nature about you. I wish you were my doctor. Keep up the good work.

Dr. Rutland-I am so thankful I found your channel! I am a new pulmonary/critical care NP in Texas. You have inspired me to "be better today than I was yesterday." As a new provider I am struggling with switching to the provider mindset; I'm putting in long hours, studying before I go to work and focusing on how to manage a new disease process each week-for example right now I'm focusing on ILD and the immunology serologies I need to order and how to basically manage the patient. I know it takes time, but hopefully I will become more confident in my own practice. Advanced practice providers could not succeed without physicians like yourself who take the time to teach and invest in us, so thank you. I look forward to learning from you and applying the knowledge gained to my own practice. God bless

selina leewright I did an episode on ILD. I’m also happy to email you papers on ILD since that is my expertise.
That nurse to NP transition is one of the most difficult transitions I see. It requires an entire mind shift. But no doubt you can do it

Dr. Rutland, I just wanted to reach out and let you know how impressed I am with your channel and the quality of the production/information. I am a former ICU nurse and current PA student and am constantly searching for new medically related channels. Yours is one of the most well produced, informative, and thoughtful I have come across. I have no doubt your following will grow substantially. Cheers!

A sincere thank you for what you do. I went to Mayo Clinic last week and have CVID with lung complications (GLILD). I have the utmost respect for all physicians, nurses, and especially pulmonologists after going through what I’m facing. Thank you again.
    Be Kind.

Thank you Jamie you've helped me tremendously, count backwards from 5 and just go. Dying is a natural process, talk to the dying person about his or her life. All great advice, your grandfather would be proud of you!

    Death is a natural process!
    Count 1-5 then GO!
Thank you for this because I also had the same experience in first yr Med school studying away from home. Still remember the last call.
