This guy is a killer dude. He came to my town - show was sold out. Prior to the show he came into a bar I was in and we had a beer and bullshitted a bit. He then put me on the guest list to get into his sold out show and he had never met me before. Just a killer guy. Need more of this stuff in the world.
omfg ... I wish I was there...it feels like I was....and definitely a killer dude...so in sync with how I feel everyday and he's so damn talented ..I bet he wrote these lyrics as he showed up and sang them...maybe somebody else wrote them as he sang
Sam Cooke , Otis Redding. This is American roots R&B. Timeless. Makes you want to be on that dance floor with your loved one and your friends. An experience every human should live. How did our world come so far from this? Thanks for bringing it back down to the roots again with pure honest emotion.
I can't compare him to nobody...he's one of a kind and so lovable...looks like a great dancer no disrespect to his girl or momma God bless them and keep your head up ....everything is gonna be alright
Yeeeaaaass!!! That's exactly how I feel! I remember "back in the ole days" buyin a cd and there were maybe 2 songs ya really liked and pressed next, next, next not so with with The night sweats!! 😊
I have followed Nathaniel since his very early days. They don't make them like this anymore. Keep on going with the Night Sweats! We all need and want this real music. I love you all!
IM ADDICTED TO THIS BAND!!! Some are waving it around Someone carried me home One was never noticed sleeping on the floor But I know we were there Some were playing around Some were dipping so low It never seemed to matter as the night slipped away Cause there was soul in the air We were howling at the moon We were shaking our hips Danced until we flat out falling into bed But I won’t let you go So let me in or let me down Let me lay here so slow Baby just keep holding got to move our feet Cause you know it ain’t end Step it in or step it out Cut it all in and run Kept on 'til it mattered baby I don’t even see But I know we were there We were howling at the moon We were shaking our hips Danced until we flat out falling into bed But I won’t let you go We were howling at the moon We were shaking our hips Danced until we flat out falling into bed And I won’t let you go Danced until we flat out falling into bed Said I won’t let you go!
+Luke Edwards you got it! I'm always looking for new stuff since I've played out all my classic rock CDs. only so many times you can hear Kashmir on the radio
It’s always awesome discovering a new band and digging into all their songs and finding these gems you never knew were out there. Happens to me like once a year or so, and these guys definitely qualify.
The way his voice sounds when he sings *"And we danced until we flat out, falling into bed"* sends actual shivers down my spine in the best way possible.
I can feel this in my heart, mind, body... soul. They feel so much when they sing. They truly love and enjoy it. It's so wonderful to feel music ... you know they are loving it. It's been a long time in music, when musicians put their heart and soul in it. I truly appreciate it!
I could almost swear I was listening to a Motown record that I've previously missed. That guitar goes electric in the middle, taking the song a new place. I very much like this.
This dudes voice is reincarnated from the soul of some other great singer. Some Mississippi delta shit.Hopefully no crossroads. I don't know where a voice like that comes from but it cannot be faked. I hear the bottom of a lot of whiskey bottles, loud nights and tough mornings. I am glad he found his calling.
Rare is the moment when one discovers a true gem, something completely unexpected and so profoundly soulful. Nathaniel Rateliff & The Nights Sweats is one of those rare gems! Such a happy discovery!
+David Driver um, there are plenty of real bands palying instruments with meaningful lyrics. Maybe tune away from whatever crappy pop station you've been listening to? This isn't a rare thing. At all.
+Alison Blake-Lobb yes it is there is no real music anymore . even the bands of present past have lost their spark. we have had a spoon of lyrical shit shoved in the direction of our mouths eat if you want.
I love music, all kinds..always have..my daddy was a lead singer of his own band for 15 + years before he died in a motorcycle accident...my point ; I grew up around music , it raised my soul...and I am a mama of 7 of my own now and I do not mean to seem dense , please forgive me , but I have never heard of this band until 2 nights ago when I was listening to the radio. I need never get old came on and right away my ears perked right up and I wanted to get up and dance to it...lol...then again the very next night I heard the same song...so then my curious mind went about to search the music video for this unique new song I'm digging...and behold...this guy has lots of videos/music out there and so far I've clicked on 4-5 different videos and I am absolutely loving every single one. He is awesome and I can't wait for my opportunity to see him in concert.....oh and buy every CD this band may or may not have out .....either way they just gained a new fan. YOU GUYS ROCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have found the music my soul has been searching to find. Every single song they do just makes me feel like I am in music heaven. Finally, a singer/songwriter is making music and people are listening and loving. It just makes me so happy to hear real music again. No auto-tune, no three word songs that just have a beat and a hook. Keep making the great music guys, it is truly wonderful.
I so wish my dad were here. He would LOVE this! I grew up listening to everything from 50s up to the 70s - definitely hear Slip Away vibes in this. So glad this kind of music is fighting its way back.
I swear I've watched every video I could find with yall's name on it. I have linked and followed, you name it. I want more of this, we all NEED more of this! Its a mix of yummy goodness and I could listen to it all day. This is the stuff your soul yearns for to no end. Thank you Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, I look forward to more.
I can't believe this band is actually from this decade... I heard "S.O.B." on the radio and loved it, so I looked up some more songs by them on here. I think I'll ask for an album for Christmas.
Bluesy rock with a folk twist......SONOFABITCH!!!!! I can't get enough !!! The Beach Music folks in the Carolinas are tripping too!!! I love it Nate and "Sweats"....keep up the great work!!!!!
Ahhhhhhh How refreshing!!!!!!!!!! That was close fellas, thought we were forever only gonna find "Real" music in the classics section.Thank you Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats.
These guys are/were fun as hell to see live. The amount of passion they have for what they do is very obvious. You can grab the energy in the air when they get playing because it just pours out of them.
This is insane! My grandmother raised me with oldies, back in the late 80's and 90's. This brings me back to the 'feel' of that music. This is just a good sound, a good feel and good rhythm. I've listened to these gentlemen for hours. True #feelgoodmusic
I have a fun story about them. Summer of 2016 I was studying abroad in the UK, and near the uni, there was this awesome record shop. Since I wasn’t as familiar with all the genres and didn’t know that much to begin with, I asked the shop owner what his recommendation was. He asked me who are my favorite musicians, I answered Richie Havens, Jim Croce, John Denver, The Animals. His eyes lit up, and said he knew just the thing, and showed me the CD of Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats. He played this song on the player and I fell in love with it immediately. One of the best purchases I made in my life, hands down, keep making amazing music :)
so glad some people still believe in what good music is supposed to sound like, true blue music fan like me can respect this! finally a modern day creedence!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh man oh man! This song has some soul! Between the sound and Daniels voice I lose myself in man. This band by far is probably my most new favorite band out right now. A definite song you can snap your fingers to that's for damn sure haha.
This guy is a killer dude. He came to my town - show was sold out. Prior to the show he came into a bar I was in and we had a beer and bullshitted a bit. He then put me on the guest list to get into his sold out show and he had never met me before. Just a killer guy. Need more of this stuff in the world.
Tim Covino just wish they would come to Scotland ❤️❤️
omfg ... I wish I was there...it feels like I was....and definitely a killer dude...so in sync with how I feel everyday and he's so damn talented ..I bet he wrote these lyrics as he showed up and sang them...maybe somebody else wrote them as he sang
Soooo good, and even better live.
I so much envy you that experience! But that don't mean I begrudge you guys at all! Rock on.

This band is criminally underrated
This sound would've been tops, 40 years ago, and it's absolutely the tops now. Music like this knows no time, it is evergreen, it is timeless.

More like 60 years ago
My parents danced to Sam Cooke songs - I'm sure they would have danced to this music too and loved it.
Yah 40 years ago is in the 80's now lol

Sam Cooke , Otis Redding. This is American roots R&B. Timeless. Makes you want to be on that dance floor with your loved one and your friends. An experience every human should live. Compare him to whoever you want...the dude has soul pouring out all his body. And he kills it
sourDeadhead I think that they have such a unique a sound...I only compare them with themselves:)
Rag'n'Bone Man and Hozier are pretty good, I'd say those two are on the same tier as Nathaniel :D
he kills the soul coming out of his body, good god.
DAMN RIGHT BRO!
I can't compare him to nobody...he's one of a kind and so lovable...looks like a great dancer no disrespect to his girl or momma God bless them and keep your head up ....everything is gonna be alright
Oh my god. Every song they put out feels like I've loved it forever.
I felt the same way the moment before I read your comment. Preach.

Bill Roberts amen bro
THIS guy needs more recognition! He's way underrated!!
IM ADDICTED TO THIS BAND!!!
Some are waving it around
Someone carried me home
One was never noticed sleeping on the floor
But I know we were there
Some were playing around
Some were dipping so low
It never seemed to matter as the night slipped away
Cause there was soul in the air
We were howling at the moon
We were shaking our hips
Danced until we flat out falling into bed
But I won’t let you go
So let me in or let me down
Let me lay here so slow
Baby just keep holding got to move our feet
Cause you know it ain’t end
Step it in or step it out
Cut it all in and run
Kept on 'til it mattered baby I don’t even see
But I know we were there
We were howling at the moon
We were shaking our hips
Danced until we flat out falling into bed
But I won’t let you go
We were howling at the moon
We were shaking our hips
Danced until we flat out falling into bed
And I won’t let you go
Danced until we flat out falling into bed
Said I won’t let you go!

It’s always awesome discovering a new band and digging into all their songs and finding these gems you never knew were out there. Happens to me like once a year or so, and these guys definitely qualify.
Thank God, there is still hope. This feels so good for modern day music.
The way his voice sounds when he sings *"And we danced until we flat out, falling into bed"* sends actual shivers down my spine in the best way possible.

That guitar goes electric in the middle, taking the song a new place. I very much like this.
this guy would make a great pastor.......hes got the voice of redemption and the soul of a southern baptist choir
+K Silva I'd sell my soul to the devil for this voice!
+K Silva I agree. His voice has that raspy Sam Cooke sound. Awesome!
+K Silva sounds like Sam Cooke
+Rocky Mirro yes yes yessssssssss! I was trying to picture who he sounds like but you are so right. I love his voice.
+K Silva Otis Redding. Watch Animal House when they perform in the one scene, sounds just like them.

How could have we lived without this group since so many years ?!! Music from the soul for the soul...SO GREAT !
He takes the most simple of melodies and masterfully constructs them into masterpieces.
There are few talents out there who have the intestinal fortitude to play what makes them happy.
I have found the music my soul has been searching to find. Every single song they do just makes me feel like I am in music heaven.
