Full Lyrics:
I’m alright today, You gonna find a way to cross and you gonna get there
I’m on fire today, Ain’t no water here to calm or even put me out
I’ll find a better way, Am I crazy or the wind is gonna blow me down
I’m gonna leave it all out there to dry
I’m gonna leave it all out there
I’m gonna leave it all out there to dry up
I’m gonna leave it all out there
You seem tired today, were you up all night afraid of what the future might bring
I feel fine today, I had dreams of you in places I’ve not seen before
You get so carried away, like lovers new to bodies first to touch you here
This ain’t a getaway, you build walls around your heart to try to lock it in
I’m gonna leave it all out there to dry
I’m gonna leave it all out there
I’m gonna leave it all out there to dry up
I’m gonna leave it all out there
And upon the wind it’s carried over the cities and the plains
You got time you’re on the mend babe
And everybody wants the same
Everybody wants the same thing
I’m gonna leave it all out there to dry
I’m gonna leave it all out there
I’m gonna leave it all out there to dry up
I’m gonna leave it all out there
But you worry me
You worry me
You worry me
You worry me
You worry me
You worry me - Видеоклипы
This is one of those songs that you seem to already know, even though you are hearing it for the first time. As if it’s from a dream, or a past life. Bravo, guys.
Whatever you're on, cut the dose man.
I could not have said it better.
Nailed it.
Wait how did you know i had dreams of this song multiple times before hearing it
Agree. Kinda reminds me of 'Couldn't get it right' by Climax Blues Band
"I feel fine today, I had dreams of you in places I've not seen before" really like something about that line
I've had dreams too. A beach. A spit of white sand. A nude woman sunbathing. As a helicopter flies over she rolls of the sandy outcrop into the aquamarine colored waters, and she becomes a seal.
It's that other place
I always had dreams when I was young where I was out clubbing and I've never seen the club in my life I need to go there
Its to a girl. Hes thinking about the future. Daydreaming places he's never been but would go with her. Its quite beautiful
Nostalgias of another life
My late son introduced me to this song and I considered it his and my song.
The opening line "I'm alright today." tells me so much of the song already. Incredible song writing.
Commenting here to make sure you didn't forget the song yet after 5 years
its still drying
You're gonn get there
Several years ago I spent the night at my grandparent's house and was messing with an old radio. This song played after a minute and my Grandma asked me about the song. I don't fully remember what she asked, but I remember her liking it.
That seems like a silly, unimportant memory, but whenever I hear this song I'm always reminded of it. I don't even think she listened to the full song or even said more than "I like it." But her passion for music and life just seems to reverberate back into my mind every single time I hear this.
Miss you Grandma
nicely said....I get it
hell yeah g’ma
That was beautiful brother, I took care of my grandma for 8 months before she passed away 2 days before Christmas, miss her everyday.. I remember watching tv with her and drinking baileys and laughing, the small things really are the ones you remember.. cheers from Idaho sorry for your loss
Now i rearlly miss my grandma
❤
The way the bass guitar is mixed in this song ties everything together, and it provides an unbroken thread. But, it also leaves plenty of space for the lead vocal and the story the vocalist tells. The result is amazing. Not many bands achieve this kind of balance.
I don't know why there aren't more likes for this comment.
I totally agree, you put it into words very well. Kings of Leon does this very well, too. I wish more bands utilized the bass fully like that.
The bass allmost lik e this in every song.
@@marcoseliash Sweet little groove
They're an incredible and underrated band!
Music like this restores my faith in modern music
eternall gamerz amen
It's just restored my faith in life itself .....again🤘🤘🤘
There is plenty of great music right now. With RUclips, social media etc. You can find great music and there's so much of it. It's a great time to be a music can. In 1985 not so much.
Modern musicians anyway...
if you get the chance, see them live. They are fantastic.
RUclips is the gold rush of our time. You dig and dig and dig until you finally find some gold.
This. Is. Gold.
All of their stuff is.
The more I listen to it. The more I love it!
Truer words were never spoken, brother
Nathaniel Rateliff is literaly one of the most talented singers of our time
Great analogy MCP/ChronicBuzz
My boyfriend played this for me before I was diagnosed with a mental health disorder. It hits me now the message he was tring to send. No more staying up all night worrying about what the future might bring.... Most nights
Huge fans of this one!
I keep coming back to it. Its uplifting but sombre and I like feeling a little bit of both. Edit: just to add its the piano that makes it feel uplifting to me.
All his songs are great.
Just saw these guys two nights ago for the first time. Far exceeded my already high expectations. Great show. Horns are a dying art in today's music, and they're doing their part to keep it going. Awesome job by a great band.
Hell, music is a dying art. These guys make whip me to a different time and place and I'm young and the music is good. I'm gutted that I just recently found them.
Matt Scheer I don't disagree about the horns as I wish it was more mainstream today like it was in the 70s with bands like Chicago, but there are tons of funk and jazz bands out there today that keep it alive
Gutted, meant to be seeing them bath UK 4th May! Truely gutted! Will have a #Nathaniel concert at home, smoke, lights n beers #fuckyoucovid!
If you cats aren’t familiar with “JJ GREY AND MOFRO” you’re gonna want to check em out. Awesome live shows too.
@@BlueRidgeMtns100The OP and this are pessimistic and false takes. I wonder if some people who make these "X style/genre/etc are dead" or fucking "music is dying" (...seriously???) comments are ONLY listening to and judging based on pop radio station lists and trending pages.
I can very confidently say music is flourishing in every genre that's ever been conceived. Look around.
This song kind of makes me sad.I don’t know why, it just does.
@Dewarren Marshall ye
@Dewarren Marshall it is my understanding that this chord is not an easy feat! I just started playing a few months back. I'm loving these guys they have a knack of highlighting complicated emotion. So awesome!!!
😢 it is sad
I don’t know why but this song gets to me. At the end where he says “ you worry me” I can feel that he’s speaking to someone directly.
REAL MUSIC...so refreshing
Wait...you mean to tell me that band alter their sounds slightly over each album????
nooooooooo way..
*btw this sounds the same just more polished than the self titled album
@@byrnesdubc i had a stroke reading this
Hearing this for the first time at 4am, gettin ready for work, heck with it, taking the day off and putting this on replay, phenomenal tune, sure tickles the pleasure spot in my brain!
greatbasinman don't leave it all out there to dry off
Peng Hong 😎😎😎
I remember when i first heard this..i had relapsed and didnt know what to do, so i turned on the radio and heard the lyrics "you seem tired today"..
I first heard this in 2017. Around that time, my dad passed away and every time I heard this song, I resonated so much to it! Recently survived separated domestic violence cases and started listening to this song again.
I turn to it as a environmental scientist. And I cry. Because I can't leave it out to dry out, but do hope you can.
From within the mind, reflections of the past, hiding within a moment where melody and harmony are meant meet, manifests lyrics such as this
That intro into the guitar... so cool it gives me chills
Prothope same!!! After a long period of losing interest in music due to mental health struggles, I think this riff/song is getting me back into being passionate about music. This band is so talented.
Larissa Branovacki Exactly! Nate has always had a knack for introspection but in recent years has found the perfect blend between deepness and upbeat jazzy soul. All their songs make you feel like they understand life’s ups and downs and that you’re not alone, there’s still good things and it’ll be okay :)
Dancing Monkeys definitely stole that intro
As someone who is currently coping with complex ptsd and coming to terms with it; this song could not better define what I'm going through. There is such a spiritual relief you feel when you find a song that can define that for you.
Bravo! You ht the nail on the head for me personally as well. Wishing you the best. You are not alone
I completely agree. I'm going through some similar stuff. Today is the first day in a while that I left town to reclaim my identity while going back to the place I met my abuser.
"You gonna find a way to cross and you gonna get there."
You seem tired today, were you up all night afraid of what the future might bring
Aye sir
Yes sir
Plan for the future, live in the present my dude!
The last few years have made that line all the more poignant. Civil unrest, police brutality, pandemic...I definitely lay awake at night terrified of the future we are leaving our children.
I've never heard this song during the day, the evening or at night. It only comes on the between 3-4am where I live. Very unusual feelings come from this song.
Really starting to love this artist. His music and lyrics are so emotionally relatable. Can't say that about too many artists nowadays and, yes, there are many people I love that worry me.
Thank you Mr. Rateliff for your music. In my family, it's managed to span several generations of now fans, from my 80 year old dad and boyfriends 83 year old dad, who discovered your music by the way, to me, I'm 46. My oldest niece is 15 and said, she "gets it," and that says something to me. Thanks for the music bridge. We'll keep listening!
It's the same in my family, their music seems to reach everyone's wave length, no matter the age.
Ok.
About Bloody time!!! Finally someone who is worth listening to that gives me the hope that music what is being played today and shoved down our throats will eventually fade into the abyss.
Anybody else hear this on the radio and searched for it with the only memory of the song being "I wanna leave it all out there"
Caitlin Maguire yeah thats exactly what i did lol
I hear these song like two times each day in a radio station here in México, and it got stuck un my head. Real music, fuck reggaeton
I did lol I heard it on the radio out here in Denver on our modern rock station shout out to 93.3 ktcl
Caitlin Maguire I did!
MuzeGravibus 18 fuck you
I'll tell you this. I'm aged 55 and this music of today is beyond fantastical. Excellent.
Songs like this don't come around that often
Melancholy. Masterful arranging, music, singer, group.
I was working at a dive bar years ago and a cover band of young 20 something year olds, were playing this and I loved it. I actually thought it was an original song at first but searched for it for months based off the little bit of lyrics I remembered, and now this is one of my favourite songs ❤️❤️
Love it. Sounds new and old at the same time and great lyrics as always!
this guy gives me chills w every single song i hear....i love the high piano during the chorus
Incredible song . It makes me get ready to work hard and kick the days ass.
I love this song so much. More than anything I’ve heard in my life. I come back to it every week
im so late hearing about this artist. along with this beautiful AMAZING, AMAZING song. i could listen to this track all day on a rainy day!!!
ruclips.net/video/tvvJDPLacMs/видео.html I can't believe you haven't heard this one ( everywhere) last year and the year before.
It was just a treat to hear this on the radio 📻 today, had to come here 🥲
Just got this album and man o man am I stoked. I love all Nathaniels music. He and the boys are for sure headed to the HOF one day.
Haunting, fantastic, authentic. Real music from really talented musicians.
Mr. Raitcliff, Nightsweats, you make spectacularly honest raw music. It's poignant. Bob Dylan meets the Fabulous Thunderbirds, and Bill Withers. I bet you're great in person.
Found some gold here. Those night sweats caught my eye. Been there as a cancer survivor (age 25).
All the best to you!
That intro is soo, just * kisses top of fingers like happy chef*
So happy I get to exist at the same time as you legends in the making.
This band is right on point with what is going on in my life right now got to leave it out there and get away from evil people and things
This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I'm going on 40 and I've heard a lot, more than I care to admit, of music. There's not a day that can go by that I can hear this song and not have some form of emotional experience.
I’m obsessed with this. Really happy you didn’t try to make a song too similar to SOB
Allison F preach!
Try "Nobody" by the Sheepdogs. You won't be disappointed
Represent !!
jason dumoulin OMG I went & listened to that Sheepdogs song & I LOVE it!
if you think this is good?
listen to his first and current "album"
amazing..
Just saw them in Chop Suey, Seattle. Amazing band, sound same like on radio, I would dare to say even better. Really fun to listen live, can't wait to see them here again!
I haven't heard this song in god knows how long, I finally heard it in a show I was hyper-fixating on and immediately in the span of a millisecond it felt like time stopped and I remembered and I rushed for the name of the song. This made my day for sure
Nathan and the band just keeps on getting better. Happy music!!!!
So excited for the new album..LoVE these guys!!
0:09 Sends chills every time. Love it.
This is addictive!!! In the best way possible...the mix of new/old, I can't get enough...Love all the way around. It doesn't get much better than this in the music scene!!
Song of the year! I can't stop listening to it. Looking forward to the rest of the album. Well done, boys!!!
So many great lyrics. We’re you up all night afraid of what the future will bring. Like lovers new to bodies to touch you there. This song is so emotional.
Fantastic, absolutely love it. Looking forward to the new album!!
What a fine way to start off the new year, a gift from some of the finest musicians I've ever heard.
This song makes me feel something, not sure this song is powerful, every time I hear this song I feel some emotion, thanks for this great song
Yes! As a kid who grew up in the 70s it’s great to hear MUSIC!
I didn't realize how cool the lyrics were. Thank you. Plus the main verse is sung at the end.. Cool tune!
Few artists can match the feelings that NR&TNS induces. This new album seems off to a great start
Excited doesn't even come close to what I am.
Tickets purchased, plane booked, Paradiso in Amsterdam here I come.
$5 foot longs for everyone!
This is, by far, my favorite song of yours I've heard thus far. Always mad respect, but this is just *perfect* - catchy, poignant, gritty... love it.
I heard this song today on a local rock station. I had Siri find out who it was and the name of the song. It's been on repeat all day long. I'm in love with this song!!
Now this is MUSIC.
I was a fan the first time I heard Nathaniel on some talk show doing SOB! Now I've listened to lots of his stuff, and I'm still a big fan! 💜
Nathaniel, you guys have done it again. All the best from "Down Under".
I just LOVE this song--the rhythm, the lyrics, Rateliff's voice. Right on.
Thank goodness for Nathaniel Rateliff and the night sweats. Such great music in a time where most new music is garbage.
I seriously have been hooked to this band's music.... Great sound awesome vibes...
All time favorite artist strikes again!! Yahtzee!!
UNO!
Well hell, I keeping listening and he just keeps getting better! Where you been my entire life guys!?
😳❤️
I remember hearing this not long After it was released. Iv spent years trying to remember the name of this band. Today on the radio at work I heard it. Now I’m back and this time I’ll remember for the sunny days spent fishing by myself. Definitely a song to keep the head up.
I wish the music this artist produced was as appreciated as other music of our time, its sad
I'm one of those people that "hates" newer music but damn this is a hell of an earworm
It's new music, but an old sound. These guys can't make a bad song. Check out The Dead South too
First time I heard this song, it didn't catch me like I Need Never Get Old or S.O.B., but that driving beat with the lyrical vocals keeps playing in my head. Looking forward to the rest of the album!
This is the first song I wanted to tackle with my vocal coach. I did my best to do Nathaniel justice because he and I have very similar vocal ranges! I'm excited about performing it soon. I'm pretty unassuming at times and I can't wait to make people's jaws drop. I have to say he's one of my favorite modern singers and everything he does is just top notch gold.
Music heals the soul. Great music is truly inspiring and can restore optimism
Music heals gets you in the feels
Nathaniel is such a great artist! We all want the same thing! We just don't realize it. Thanks for the great tunes brother!
Listened to both previous cds so much I had to take a break for a bit. Buying this the first day It's out. Never stop making music!
Love this song-but everytime I hear it I tear up..was listening to it as my pup died in my arms-love the song-gets me in the feels for that reason
man... this brings tears to my eyes.. how do artists come up with this stuff!!
What a great song - Keeps getting better every time I hear it!!
Love it.. It's not just a re-hash of the last record. Sounds from the back-story that it's very much a collaborative effort.
GRAHAM HABBEN I agree. Was feeling the exact opposite about parlor and coolin out
I need music like that.
Love, love, LOVE IT 💖
Struck gold yet again...These guys are the shit!
*Great Tune* Hard to find music like this nowadays
Love this! The beat is such a unique one!!
Love this!
I'm trying to memorize this song by Saturday so I can sing it at karaoke night. One of the best songs I have heard in a long ass time.
How did it go
@@VladtheZat I sang my heart out.
@@ambercarr861 👍
Masterful, as usual! Like most I became hooked after hearing SOB. But I continue to only be more and more impressed at the diverse but always soulful sounds you guys produce. Already attended a performance in Birmingham and will jump at the chance to see you live again!
This music is really needed today
Nathan...you are a musical genius. If my father were still alive, I know he'd love you. I love you. My friend's kids in their 20's love you. When you can span generations like that and have everyone loving you - you are a musical genius.
The horns at 2:14 play rent free in my mind.
Now that I hear this song it’s just so great I get agitated if I don’t listen too it like 3 times a day. It’s just such an amazing and beautiful song.Props to you guys on making this song.
I think was was S.O.B. that i heard on the radio that led me to discovering Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats but i am so glad i did. This group is amazing.
Heard this at the beginning of 'The Rookie'
What an amazing song to begin with
Such a beautiful song! Love you guys.
I love this band! So refreshing. Doesn't sound like anything else!
Awesome! Gives my soul strength!
You can find it hard these days to get great heart'n soul songs...with a great beat...but here it is....and I CANNOT stop listening to it!
Great vocals
lo lindo de cuando te dedican canciones conocer a otros artistas y quedar ...volver cada cierto tiempo cuando lo extrañas por ejemplo!! gracias Juan de Madrid
This is such a great song
Another piece of art by these guys
