Good video, nice to see kids helping out and not on the Xbox. One thing you can try to help with starting is to fit and use a fuel cut off between the tank and carby. (If not fitted already) Let the carby run out of fuel by turning the tap off. That way no gum left in the carby from evaporated fuel.
Mate I knew I was buying a "lesser" quality splitter and longevity was always an unknown. So far yes I would buy again. If I just have to pull the air cover of each time and give it a spray to get it going I will take that any day of the week.
How many tonne is your splitter ? Your kid is very smart. "Probably needs new fuel". If it sits around for too long, the fuel goes stale pretty quickly. I'd drain the fuel tank prior to storage or used stabilised fuel. You can buy fuel stabiliser which you can add to a jerry can. Probably a good idea to start the machine every few months to keep it all running ok. Carby can gum up from dry fuel too.
@@aussiedadlife Cool thanks. I ended up buying the same splitter as you have just this morning because I previously purchased the 9T electric banner ag version and it really struggles with hardwood. I'm hoping the 20T petrol smashes through it.
Great effort with the family mate, good stuff 👍🏼

Great review. I would like to purchase this model. Any regrets now a couple of years later?
@@Lawzy nope, been working flawlessly every time I dig it out
@@aussiedadlife Great, thanks. I put an order in.
Hi mate, Great video, have subscribed!
After a year would you buy that hydraulic wood splitter again if you had a choice?

For a budget machine, it seems to go alright once started 👌.
Your boys were eager to help dad out ☺️🪵🪓
