I can only say: I take my hat off for you, Niels, for what you have been through and still staying positive. Well done; truly amazing and inspiring. All of the best from a fellow traveler of life in Namibia.
Hello Nils, I really wanted to see cycling videos from Africa and I was looking for it for a long time. Now I have found yours and they exceed all my expectations. It's just great what you experienced, how you edited it, the music, everything. I stand in awe of your physical and mental accomplishments. Thank you for taking me. Greetings Bernhard
That was nice tour to my country and I felt sorry for your stolen things and may get back one day another time better and safer and more secured trip with best wishes and regards 😊
Hi Niels, man I felt so sorry when you said you'd been robbed. Tip from an old traveler - always keep your valuables in a security pouch inside your underpants, next to your skin and your family jewels, believe me you'll know if anyone is trying to rob you.. Now to the rest of the video. Do you know the arabic word "maknoon" - it means crazy. You are without a doubt one of the toughest, craziest long distance cyclists on RUclips but what I admire so much is your absolute joy of life and your practical and pragmatic attitude. Keep on doing it Niels, you are an inspiration! 2 things - 1) your video work has got sooooo good. 2) Do you have a PayPal account? I won't donate via Patreon because I find their charges extortionate. I would love to donate to your journey, please send your PayPal account details. Stay safe and keep up the good work. PS "The beans have to go somewhere" - absolute classic Niels!!!
Hi Paul, haha, I guess I'm a bit "maknoon"! It's very nice to hear when people tell me I'm inspiring them. Yeah, Patreon really has abnormal charges, PayPal is better. My PayPal account is niels.jansen95@hotmail.com Any support would be much much much appreciated :)
Getting your bag stolen obviously sucked big time, but no doubt in later years it will be one of the situations that makes you smile the most, as it also lead you to receive all that amazing kindness. And great desert views by the way! Thank you for sharing your journey.
Glad you were able to continue after the loss of your valuables. Your journey is much more adventurous than all my journey in the USA and Asia. Luckily nobody tried to steal stuff from me. And embassies can be time consuming and nerve wrecking. Still the ordinary people are the same everywhere: friendly, welcoming and curious.
Brilliant vidoe and commentary, sorry your stuff got stolen though, but glad you got it sorted.... The Immortal Khartoum Cyclists.......... (I lived there till the war started in 2023, but didn't dare cycle)
Awesome, in the middle of the damn Sahara! Aren't you glad you didn't let curiosity get the best of you instead of choosing to eat the fruit? The theft situation is never good and causes unnecessary challenges. Glad everything improved. 20000 km, what an incredible accomplishment. Congrats -Thank you for taking us with you around the planet!
Yo Niels , so happy to see you enjoyed your Sahara desert cycling , i have done it twice!! in Jan and Feb ,tail wind and cool weather,Safe travels and happy Cycling ;-)
This adventure just gets better and better and the drone footage is stunning. Shame about your misfortune in Khartoum. I had my passport and money stolen too while I was trekking in Peru so I've got a good idea of the despair you must have felt at the time. I'm glad it all worked out in the end and that you were able to move on. Ethiopia is one of my top 5 bucket list countries, so I'm very much looking forward to seeing that video. Best wishes on the road 👍
Great camera work, Niels, as usual! Please keep your security pack with passport and money under your shirt ALL the time! And hey, beans are super food and VERY good for you! Stay humble and on knees praying when needed! God bless! Kostya
Excellent video, very professional. You are a brave young man and witnessing the best of human nature but also occasionally the worst. 95% of people are wonderful, the rest not so!! Stay safe and always choose the adventure!
And another nice video. Thank you very much for that. I'm so jealous of you. What a beautiful adventure. There aren't many young people imitating you. A journey has beautiful moments, but sometimes also setbacks. It's part of it and that's what makes a trip so special. Keep it up!
Het zal ongetwijfeld zwaar zijn door de woestijn fietsen, maar wat een onvergetelijk avontuur moet het voor je zijn. Ik kijk er echt steeds naar uit om je filmpjes te zien, bijna rustgevend😊. Veilige kilometers Niels
bad luck on the theft but good you have continued and reached your goal etc. nice one!! even when cycling (and camping) i always keep my passport / ccard / cash in my money belt on my body... its a minor discomfort for the hassle etc in case they get taken from me etc.
What an awesome experience given the hospitality of many Sudanese. Beautiful scenery, love the drone footage - especially of you on top of the pyramid of Meroe! You're right, not like Egypt. Sad about losing your bag and how long it took to get passport resolved. Geez. I'm really enjoying your journey from the start. Keep up the super great work! Take care.
Wow. Could you not have cycled through the desert at night or very early in the morning and then rested/siesta during the middle of the day, then started riding again in the late afternoon/evening? Passport, credit cards, money whilst losing them to theft is a PITA, they can be replaced. Losing camera gear or hard drives with film footage of your trip on or indeed if you were injured in a violent robbery would have been a real disaster. Was it your handle bar bag that was stolen or similar bag? Still you got so see a side of Khartoum that you would not have otherwise have seen and you hooked up with the Sudanese Cycling Club. Good luck in Ethiopia. I heard many accounts that the locals like to chuck stones at visitors. Nice.
I can only say: I take my hat off for you, Niels, for what you have been through and still staying positive. Well done; truly amazing and inspiring. All of the best from a fellow traveler of life in Namibia.
Another incredible video ,I'm watching all of them , lost for words ,god bless!

It was like a small backpack that was stolen. Yeah, imagine my harddrive with all my footage stolen. We would never get to see this video!!
Epic video again, bet that was fun climbing those mini pyramids.
Here's how I traveled by bike ruclips.net/video/UctbTpzIf-Q/видео.html 🤝
