It's crazy how Bethesda can write millions of quests and stories, but cannot write 1 tweet to their fans for an update.
Not millions more like 10 they just reuse
Whoever is in charge of marketing should be fired. They have no clue what they are doing. You’d think they would make their announcement before the show came out. Sounds to me like it’s either not really ready and are pushing it out because of online pressure, or they are really just incompetent when it comes to communication.

To be fair, the show wasn't supposed to be out yet originally. They moved the date forward twice. It originally wasn't planned until the 12th. Give it 2 days.

I loved how Bethesda released that update for Skyrim breaking all the mods fixing Skyrim without fixing the bugs themselves...

The game is 13 years old, there are hardly any bugs in it. The majority of the significant (and the worst) bugs were fixed when Special Edition was released.
Yep, my FO4 experience is on indefinite hold until I find out which of my mods will get splattered by the update.

I'm trying to finally finish up my 5 year old playthrough before it gets updated. But at this rate, I'm pretty safe.
Look up how to set the Fallout 4 Steam File to Read Only and the game won't update and you can keep playing.
You must be new to modding, you can easily stop that from happening. If you are playing on console, well only thing I can say is mods were never really made for console and all those issues are bound to happen. Get a PC.
How can l stop it from updating? I'm new to modding and dont want my game to break, also the restrict updates between, in steam doesnt seem to work for me. Thank you!

Honestly that whole dlc is just completely fucked. Besides the main quest I gave up completely on it.
It's doing it on my ps4 too. I can't even play it for the first time. Bethesda is worse than they've ever been. Skyrim doesn't reload after death correctly anymore, either.

@@DeltaLeader309no, you would just need to launch it through your modding tool of choice, Vortex, MO2, etc. this is what a lot of people did when they murdered Skyrim special edition the first time

Plot twist, they actually can't update it any further, they've reached the limit of the Creation Engine but are too embarrassed to admit it, so they've gone radio silent hoping people will forget about it.
Yeah engines dont work like that at all and they've announced the update now.
Donk on bethesda for other things but the creation engine is seriously not that bad for what Bethesda does with it.
The update just announced. Along with new (free) Creation Club Content like Enclave Remnants. I think these new CC contents is canon with relation to the recent release Fallout TV show Series.

I'd recommend not waiting and ensure fallout 4 CANT update.
Install all the mods you want, if or when the next gen update arrives, some mods might get updates, but you wont want to install them again, because they just wont work on older versions of the game and not every mod is gonna have archives of their old versions available for download.

I wonder if you have heard THIS story--- it appears that any Ps4 and Ps5 players, who have downloaded any of the FO4 dlc's in the last week or so--- those dlc's are missing textures, to the point that everything--- craftable items, even npc's, are bright reddish-purple. There's been some kind of recent update that has borked DLC's for Playstation players---- sure would love if this story got some traction.. maybe enough attention could get Bethesda to fix the issue--- I mean, these are paid-for dlc's that aren't playable.
Aren't playable is one thing, actively breaking the game with a skin is entirely another
Honestly, this update is either 80% sure gonna be the worst or 20% great. If the update doesn’t break any mods or only some mods which is highly unlikely, it’s gonna be great, or if mods that haven’t been updated get updated as well especially to be optimized with a better base game, it’s going to be awesome. What is more likely is that it’s going to break a lot of mods. And most of these mods are what was keeping fallout 4 alive in the first place. Sim Settlements 2 and America Rising 2 will probably be updated, but mods like militarized minutemen, quality of life mods and maybe even fallout London will be unavailable and unplayable until they get updated as well to support “next Gen”.
I'm not a betting man, but if I was I'd put a lot of money on these updates not fixing any of the ancient bugs that were never fixed, adding MORE bugs (That also won't ever be fixed), breaking most mods (Especially on the older games that aren't really actively modded anymore), and shoehorning in more MTX and CC stuff. I'd LOVE to be proven wrong, but... It's modern Bethesda.
Surely they didn't port Fallout 4 over to the Starfield engine. Surely Bethesda's not that crazy.
Nvidia just dropped a possible Gforce Now Fallout release teaser. Maybe it will be released with that.

It had better come out tomorrow. I'm tired of excuses. We have been waiting 5 years for an update to _Fallout 4,_ and that is ridiculous. They could always delay paid mods to a later date, and release the next-gen update (along with the unreleased Creation Club content) tomorrow. I am a paying customer; I will buy the Creation Club content if it is good... but I can't do that if Bethesda continues to drag their heels like this.
Do not support cc. Mods were always meant to be free adons for the community by the community. Bethesda continuously trying to force this business model is further destroying what little bit of good reputation they have left.
Fallout 4 actually did get a depot update right after this video released so you are probably right about it being soon.
Imagine Fallout 4 getting a dlc what would be cool i know this is most likely not the case but would be cool non the less

Dude, they don't care about the consumer anymore. I mean if they really cared, they'd give 4 the same treatment as skyrim but for the past 5 or 6 years we haven't gotten anymore bug fixes, we have the exact same mod limit as we did when they released, and we haven't even got a merged mod and creation menu yet, lol. People need to wake up and realize that bethesda has gone full blown ea, stop expecting them to care about anything other than the almighty dollar.
Bethesda is asleep. I mean Starfield is 7 months old and got no new content, it's just ridiculus. Just like having 15+ years between Skyrim and ES6 or the same with FO4 and FO5. It's like they have a money printing machine and they refuse to use it. Elder scroll should have had a game every 5 years, ES8 would be on it's way and Bethesda would have made millions with ES6 and 7 already.
Why would they do that when they can resell Skyrim for the 500th time and dopes will still give them millions for it.

Honestly, I think Todd saw all the backlash from Starfield. I think it hurt his ego a bit. He probably told the team; "Do whatever you want, this game is a flop."
So don't expect any content for it anytime soon.

Todd has been on top of the world since oblivion, everyone loved Bethesda, but slowly but surely, they've been losing more and more of their credibility. 76 was the start of the awakening, and Starfield has made even some of the most diehard Bethesda defenders waver.
We're also waiting for the Fallout 3 remaster release which is slotted for 2024. Hopefully we get plenty of announcements!
It's good to hear about the next gen update bringing quality of life improvements, bug fixes, and bonus CC content for Fallout 4, but how about the Mod space for consoles, they haven't mention that.
It would be outrageous if they don't increase the storage space for consoles.
Yeah, especially if they do what they did with Skyrim that mergest the CC into normal mod space. It's the only reason I bought CC stuff (especially the backpacks), so I don't have to download mods and use the precious mod space.

Same. I re-downloaded Fallout 4 2 days ago, and have spent quite a few hours updating mods and tweaking stuff.
Its the only reason this video was even recommended lol, I havent touched Fallout in years.

From what I've seen so far, it's just small quests and goofy skins that makes the game even more cartoony than it already is, immediately turned off auto update
All I’m hoping is that Fo4 next gen updates don’t come with more bugs and glitches or make existing bugs even worse. Although that is the Bethesda way.

It would be insane for Bethesda not to at least announce a release date for the Next Gen. This is the absolute best time to release it. I figured they would wait a couple of weeks or when the viewer count goes down for the Fallout TV series then release the Next Gen update to skyrocket the viewer count for the show again.

Just got the 14.46GB update on Steam for Fallout 4 and for some reason I cannot access the creation club or the mods options as it says the operation cannot be completed.

Besathesda has spent so much time on 12 year old games they wont get to fallout reboot till 2030.
When it comes to the older games, doesn't really matter what they do, people are just going to save copies of the older executable file so they can run their mods.
Update might happen around the same time when the latest Fallout Anthology releases on their site, the SPECIAL version that has 1, 2, 3, NV, 4, 76, and Tactics.
Went back to play on the console. Couldn’t even get pass the menu screen without it crashing, Something to do with one of the DLC’s because it started working without the DLC’s.
I just want to know when the Next Gen Update is released and what is part of the update. I'm on PC so if it's just a graphical upgrade than it's likely not for me. If it's similar to Skyrim AE than I really need to know before upgrading to it because I would need the F4SE mods in my load order updated.

But if it has any significant changes, it has potential to mess with every kind of mod on one level or another.
yeah the fallout tv show I think initially was a global release, but usa got bumped forward. Its dropping in 40 minutes in the uk (11th at 2am)
At first I had assumed the next gen Fallout update for Fallout 4 would be next year, since next year is Fallout 4's 10th anniversary.

Bro I just got this game like 2 weeks ago. Spent a fat minute messing around with mods and FINALLY set some up that has made my play through really fun. I just finished the story and on the DLC. I’m glad that’s they’ll fix some bugs/update it, but if it brakes my game/mods, imma be so upset.

I really hope we get this update soon all the games went on sale on Xbox to which is kinda interesting but you probably want to take this with a grain of salt, though you never know it may not even come out tomorrow

Most likely, you can expect it to come out between April (this month) for the new tv show and November (the 9th anniversary of the release date)...hopefully they don't wait until the 10th anniversary.

How about a video showing how you keep your old Fallout running in another folder on your PC. I remember once you mentioned doing this to keep different modded versions of it for footage. With a next gen update and Fallout London coming soon thats 2 reasons to have it seperated.

April 11th (4/11) would be a logical day. You can even spell it as 'F411out', plus the show releases.
If they released fallout 3 and new vegas and fallout all dlc included with remastered and next gen update with a price tag I’d pay it

I hope they do this "next gen update" as a DLC similar to the, LOL, HD pack they offered. That way, no one has to worry about all of or majority of the mods they have get shattered.

Don't forget the other time that we can word from Bethesda (or rather an employee) for the update, where they complained about people asking about it and said that they're working on Starfield too so "of course it takes time" or whatever. You can really tell they were giving Starfield their all so I guess that makes sense......
They had better not shadow drop ANY updates that break mods. Sure, many of us already have updates turned off on modded games but it would still create more bad publicity for BGS when they are already struggling with that.
Just give people at least a week's notice and a lot of unnecessary drama will be avoided.
