Also what if you have topic cluster pages that supports multiple other pillar pages? Eg you might be talking about different drinks that go with food. Many different drinks go with many different types of food so I might not be specific to a single theme?
How do you combine pillar and cluster pages with customer based product information that’s not general in nature? Eg. if I built pages around what a cloud server is? What it’s good for (general information) ect....I also need to build content around the type of cloud servers I have to sell, I use specific cpu...can I combine this type of content? The idea is that I have general content, product specific content and join this as a pillar page
I would argue that your advice to try to rank for the main topic; being a short keyword or phase would be very difficult to rank for. The long-tail cluster pages are where most of the traffic will come in through and maybe that should have been made more clear in your video. Just an observation.
At 2:42 in the video you say ""a topic cluster is a more in detailed, specific content piece that supports your main broad topic, or pillar page."" This is why so many continue to be confused by these subjects. Isn't the piece you just described the "sub-topic content or article" that is part of 'all the articles' that make up the actual Topic Cluster? As in your own diagram earlier, this is a description of the "cluster content" that makes up the Topic Cluster. Yes, No? This is why there is still so much confusion on this. Also, you mention in an answer below that it doesn't matter if a Pillar post is on a page or a blog post. How do you keep your linking straight and siloed if they are pointing at both 'pages' as pillars and posts as pillars? All very confusing.
No. A pillar page is long-form piece of content that is used to give a broad explanation of a certain topic, allowing other sub-topics, or topic clusters, to connect back to it. Pillar pages talk about a topic in a general way and the cluster content covers related topics more in depth. They also are longer than typical blog articles, as they cover all aspects of the topic you want to position yourself for, but they don't go into as much detail.
Hi! Thanks for watching our video. Regarding your question, it's up to you! You can start writing the pillar page and then creating all the cluster content, or the other way around. Some people prefer starting with smaller pieces of content and then using that knowledge to create the pillar page, while others like to start with the pillar page since it's the central piece of your content strategy.
Unable to hear what she is saying, background music is so loud :( Need to concentrate more, what is the need to add background music, when I have to only listen to what she is saying?
Thank you for the feedback! We apologize for the inconvenience. We'll work on balancing the audio better in future videos to ensure the speaker's voice is clear. Your input is appreciated! Sorry, although interesting topic (and likeable speaker), I had to quit watching due to the annoying loud background music and the fast and slurred speech. It is a bit stressful to listen. I don't want to be offensive, hope I can do something to improve your great channel. Greetings and please keep going.
@@marketing-explained I recommend @drosoph get a hearing test, I turned the volume all the way up and neither of those observations are true... Slurred speech? More like slurred hearing. Nice job on the video, I hope (some) of your viewers can do something to improve their comments. And yes, keep going!
Awesome explanation!
Awesome, glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
Hey! How important url structure? /pillar/cluster really better than /blog/post or not so? or deal in links?

Does "this pillar page" have to be an actual page on the websites menu navigation or can be also a blog post? Someone explain thanks!!
Yes it should be a separate page
It can be an actual page or a blog post.
Hi do you advice to use a static page for pillar content and blog post for the supporting content or is it okay if I make all my content as blog posts
Hi there! Doing either is fine.
@@marketing-explained thanks
by pillar page do you mean pillar blog post or just a regular page
I’ve been trying to find the answer and I can’t! Should I link the pillar page back to the home page? If not, Where does the pillar page link to?
Hi Curtis. We recommend always including a link to your pillar page on the home page. Hope that helps!
Perfect explanation
Thank you! 😉

This is a really nice explanination. Can I know the background music in this video.
Thank you for watching 😊 We use primarily songs from RUclips's free audio library
Is the pillar page the homepage of the site?
No. A pillar page is long-form piece of content that is used to give a broad explanation of a certain topic, allowing other sub-topics, or topic clusters, to connect back to it. The music playing while she is speaking is really distracting from the good content.
Your very beautiful 😻
