MASSIVE ATTACK - THE KINGS OF TRIP HOP! Massive Attack are an English trip hop collective formed in 1988 in Bristol by Robert "3D" Del Naja, Adrian "Tricky" Thaws, Andrew "Mushroom" Vowles and Grant "Daddy G" Marshall. The debut Massive Attack album Blue Lines was released in 1991, with the single "Unfinished Sympathy" reaching the charts and later being voted the 63rd greatest song of all time in a poll by NME. 1998's Mezzanine (containing the top 10 single "Teardrop") and 2003's 100th Window charted in the UK at number one. Both Blue Lines and Mezzanine feature in Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. The group has won numerous music awards throughout their career, including a Brit Award-winning Best British Dance Act, two MTV Europe Music Awards, and two Q Awards. They have released five studio albums that have sold over 13 million copies worldwide. Throughout their history, Massive Attack have been supporters and activists for political, human rights and environmental causes. The discography of British trip hop band Massive Attack consists of five studio albums, three compilation albums, five remix albums, one soundtrack album, five extended plays, eighteen singles and twenty-seven music videos. The group was founded in 1988 by musicians Robert "3D" Del Naja, Adrian "Tricky" Thaws, Grantley "Daddy G" Marshall, and Andrew "Mushroom" Vowles in Bristol, England. Prior to the formation of Massive Attack, all four were members of British sound system The Wild Bunch. Massive Attack's debut album Blue Lines was released in 1991, and was a pioneering force in the forming of the fusion genre dubbed trip hop. Blue Lines peaked at number 13 on the UK Albums Chart, and was certified Double Platinum in the United Kingdom. The album spawned four singles, three of which charted in the top 100 of the UK Singles Chart. In 1994, Massive Attack released their second album, Protection, which peaked at number 4 in the UK. In 1998, the group released their third album, Mezzanine, which peaked at number 1 in the UK and Australia, and was the group's first release to chart in the United States. 100th Window was released in 2003, peaking at number 1 in the UK and three other countries. In 2006, Massive Attack released Collected, a compilation of the group's singles and music videos. The compilation charted in seven countries, and was certified platinum in the UK. Their fifth studio album Heligoland was released in 2010. It peaked at number 6 in the UK and was certified Gold. And I have the great honor of having in my discography the five studio CD-albums of this band from Bristol, including, of course, the CD-album of the first greatest hits collection of this wonderful band that inspired a musical genre that was very successful during the nineties and early 2000s. Therefore, I have the CD-album BLUE LINES (1991) remastered, just one unit. Then I have only one unit of the wonderful work entitled PROTECTION (1994). I still have the group's biggest commercial success, originally released in 1998, MEZZANINE. There are four copies of this CD-album! It follows 100TH WINDOWS (2003), only one drive also in CD format. I still have two copies, always in CD-album format, of the greatest hits collection released in 2006, COLLECTED. And finally, at least until now, and also on CD-album, Massive Attack's fifth studio work, HELIGOLAND (2010). Altogether there are ten CD-albums! I hope Massive Attack will continue to edit new music in the future. Honestly, I miss them. I consider myself a big fan of this group because of their musical genre. I keep good music and good artists in my heart, as I buy their records! Heligoland is the fifth studio album by English electronic music duo Massive Attack, released on 8 February 2010 by Virgin Records. Named after a German archipelago, it was their first studio album in seven years, following 100th Window (2003). It has been certified Gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). The record primarily features vocals from Horace Andy, as well as a number of guest vocalists: Tunde Adebimpe of TV on the Radio, Damon Albarn of Blur and Gorillaz, Hope Sandoval of Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions and Mazzy Star, Guy Garvey of Elbow and Martina Topley-Bird. Further contributions include guitar by Adrian Utley of Portishead (on "Saturday Come Slow"), keys from Portishead collaborator John Baggott (most notably on "Atlas Air"), keys and synth bass from Damon Albarn ("Splitting the Atom" and "Flat of the Blade" respectively), guitar (various tracks) and bass ("Girl I Love You") by Neil Davidge, bass by Billy Fuller of Beak (various tracks) and drumming from both the late Jerry Fuchs and regular Massive Attack session and touring drummer Damon Reece. Dan Brown and Stew Jackson (Robot Club) co-wrote "Paradise Circus", played guitar on and co-wrote "Saturday Come Slow", and part-programmed and engineered those tracks. Tim Goldsworthy contributed additional production (specific tracks unstated). Most tracks were mixed by Mark "Spike" Stent and mastered by Tim Young at Metropolis Studios, as with previous records. Unlike previous records, there are no personal acknowledgements on the inlay. Most tracks were co-produced by Neil Davidge and Robert Del Naja; Grant Marshall only contributed production to "Splitting The Atom", "Paradise Circus" and "Saturday Come Slow", but co-wrote every track. The album is dedicated to the memory of Blue Lines co-producer, Jonny Dollar. The album's release was preceded by the release of the Splitting the Atom EP on October 4, 2009. During its development, the album was often referred to in the media as "LP5" (a reference to this being their fifth studio album) or "Weather Underground" (Robert Del Naja's early working title). The artwork, as with every Massive Attack album since Protection, is a collaboration between Tom Hingston and Del Naja, this time based on Del Naja's paintings. For an advertisement campaign on the London Underground, local traffic authority Transport for London insisted the cover image featured on advertising posters be altered so as not to resemble "street art", obliging the artists to remove drips and fuzz from the original image; this was intended to conform with their policy to not encourage graffiti. Many other guest vocalists recorded sessions in the time after 100th Window but did not end up being featured on the album. These include: Stephanie Dosen, Yolanda Quartey of Phantom Limb - effectively Robot Club's band) and Jhelisa (Anderson, who had previously recorded in 2002 in the studio for material that was not included on 100th Window); and, mostly before the release of Collected - Mike Patton, Aku and Akwetey Orraca-Tetteh and Devang Shah of Dragons of Zynth, Elizabeth Fraser, Terry Callier, Fredo Viola, Debbie Clare, Beth Orton and Dot Allison. Mos Def and Leslie Feist were named as artists scheduled for recording sessions back in 2004. Backing tracks from Grant Marshall's side of Massive Attack's writing (mainly facilitated by and done with Robot Club) are known to have been sent to Alice Russell, and prepared for Sharon Jones, Patti Smith and David Bowie during the era but collaboration did not come to fruition, nor did talks with Tom Waits or Tricky, in terms of featuring as guest vocalists on the record. Post-punks Mark Stewart and Keith Levene were pictured inside Del Naja's 100 Suns studio in 2009, but played no part on the album. The track "Girl I Love You", one of multiple tracks featuring Horace Andy, is a drastically reworked version of a song originally written by Andy during his solo career.

The clip is really great (the music is perfect... nothing to say)... but it's such a pity i can't find it anywhere on the net in a better quality than 720p. I would love to see it in a greater definition.
I don't know, but here in RUclips the both versions was uploaded this year. But the original releases in 2008-9 I don't know wich one was released first, but is hightly possible this version was really released after the corrida, or original version.
I'm talking about the music video not the music. It's clearly visible that in both videos the song is absolutly the same, but the video isn't! Just think a little bit.
That Feel - when you had listened that track LIVE on UPARK festival - Kyiv UKRAINE 27.07.2018 Thank you so much - Massive Attack! That was insane, just awesome concert! Please come to Ukraine again!

does anybody know the story behind the two music-videos? the one by Salier, this one posted and the other one with the corrida, which ends with the death of the bull? I can't find any explanation about this double videos. thank you
honestly, the song is amazing. The video on vimeo is amazing. This youtube video.. isn't that amazing. Its the same video.. but its not amazing.. is it the crop?? the render settings? idk. I get goosebumps from vimeo, but bored after 1 min of youtube version.
Guys pls help me ı’m losing my mind😭 so there it this image from my childhood. We had a music player and there was a cd and there was a black and white video background to it. The music sounded like electronic, minimal tunes. And in the video clip it was so weird there were tiny weird looking people (or soldiers can’t recall) walking (or running) in crowd. It was like an animation. Years later i bumped into it somewhere else and i remember someone saying the original video is taken from somewhere else. But i complately forgot about it and it’s driving me crazy!!!! Pls anybody knows something like that from 80’s 90’s maybe. İ watched it in 2000’s. The video was kind of chaotic. War theme maybe. Everybody was gathering for smt

When this song played on FIFA 2011, I was mindblown
I don't have words for this. Another level.
This song was a near-religious experience Live. 💜
I don't know why this song gets me so good but every fall I am compelled to listen to it over and over again.
И вот снова осень 🎉
It’s easy, don’t let it go

SPLITTING THE ATOM
[Verse 1; Daddy G]
The bed it was warm nettles and ferns
The evening it chokes the candle it burns
This disguise covers bitter lies
Repeating the joke the meaning it dies
Pass me a coat I'm not afraid to leave
I'm letting you know I know what you need
I'll turn you around this beautiful town
And then you'll believe it when your eyes then deceive you
[Refrain: Horace Andy]
It's easy, don't let it go
It's easy, don't let it go
It's easy, don't let it go
Don't lose It
[Verse 2: Daddy G]
Its getting colder outside your rented space
They shadowbox and they paper chase
It never stops and we'll never learn
No hope without dope the jobless return
The bankers have bailed the mighty retreat
The pleasure it fails at the end of the week
You take it or leave or what you receive
To what you receive is eternited leave
[Refrain: Horace Andy]
Its easy, dont let it go
Its easy, dont let it go
Its easy, dont let it go
Don't lose it
[Verse 3: 3D]
Incandescent light at doors
In adolescent menopause
In little clicks you got the music stops
The needle sticks and the penny drops
The summer's gone before you know
The muffled drums of relentless flow
You're looking at stars that give you vertigo
The sun's still burning and dust will blow
Honey scars I'll keep you near
Our blood is gold nothing to fear
We killed the time and I love you dear
A kiss of wine we'll disappear
The last of the last particles
Divisible invisible
The last of the last particles
Divisible invisible

The needle sticks and the penny drops
The summer's gone before you know
The muffled drums of relentless flow
You're looking at stars that give you vertigo
The sun's still burning and dust will blow
Honey scars I'll keep you near
Our blood is gold nothing to fear
We killed the time and I love you dear
A kiss of wine we'll disappear
The last of the last particles
Divisible invisible

Wickedly good..!!
The baby was born
Nettles and ferns
The evening it chokes
The candle it burns
This disguise covers bitter lies
Repeating the joke
The meaning it dies
Pass me a coat I'm not afraid to leave
I'm letting you know
I know what you need
I'll turn you around
This beautiful town
And then you'll believe it when your eyes then deceive you
It's easy, don't let it go
It's easy, don't let it go
It's easy, don't let it go
Don't Lose It
It's getting colder outside
Your rented space
They shadow box and they paper chase
It never stops
And we'll never learn
No hope without dope
The jobless return
The bankers have bailed
The mighty retreat
The pleasure it fails
At the end of the week
You take it or leave
Or what you receive
To what you receive
Is eternited leave
It's easy, don't let it go
It's easy, don't let it go
It's easy, don't let it go
Don't lose it
Incandescent light at doors
In adolescent menopause
In little clicks you got the music stops
The needle sticks and the penny drops
The summer's gone before you know
The muffled drums of relentless flow
You're looking at stars that give you Vertigo
The sun's still burning and dust will blow

I couldn't get involved in Heligoland, but still, I love this track so much...It's so much intriguing.
First heard it from friend and school and immediately fell in love ❤ Then heard and saw it stoned and on trip. It was fuckin' awesome, good old times.
Splitting the atom & atlas air - masterpieces
Si nos detenemos por un instante, esto todo lo podemos ver.
Video started out sooo peaceful.
One year listen this track. A master piece...
The clip is really great (the music is perfect... nothing to say)... but it's such a pity i can't find it anywhere on the net in a better quality than 720p. I would love to see it in a greater definition.
love massive attack
I loved this version more than the original one
TrippyNight Inc. What original version?
The "Corrida de Toros" one. Just search Massive Attack - Splitting the Atom on RUclips and you'll find it.
actually this one was posted years ago before corrida... am i wrong ?
I don't know, but here in RUclips the both versions was uploaded this year. But the original releases in 2008-9 I don't know wich one was released first, but is hightly possible this version was really released after the corrida, or original version.
I'm talking about the music video not the music. It's clearly visible that in both videos the song is absolutly the same, but the video isn't! Just think a little bit.
JUSTE SUBLIME 🖤🖤
classic fifa soundtrack tune

No idea dude, but I feel the pain 😞Any more cues?
