Thank you so much for the recommendations! I'm learning Japanese and French right now and for Japanese, hoping to start reading novels in a couple of months and will definitely be checking all of these out!

Just bought 母影! Thanks for the recommendation! I had already read 夏と花火と私の死体, I think you recommended it before. I own ZOO1+2, which is a collection of short stories form 乙一 that's how I first got introduced to the author. One book I really liked this year that you might enjoy is 我が友、スミス by Ishida Kaho it is about a business woman who decides to take up bodybuilding. I appreciate you making Japanese book reviews in English.

@@elpanaprogrammer8252 Awesome! Make sure to come back and tell me if you agree with the reading level. I’ve read both the Zoo books but think 2 is stronger than 1. I’ll keep 我が友 in mind, thanks.

I decided to get some basic Japanese under my belt as I work my way through The Tale of Genji (in Translation, of course). I will take up some of these suggestions next year. Thank you.

Other topic: do you cut off the hair with the perm? Looks like it's not so easy to manage when the hair grows out. I find perm with curls also nice, i see many j-vloggers with straight perm but not with curls 💇‍♀️

@@hegaukatze1599 Usually I use a curling iron to blend in the old perm and the new growth but yes, you just have to let it grow out and cut it as you go. I figure it’ll be another year of growth before it’s finally gone. Then who knows, maybe I’ll restraighten it again! 😁
