Great to get ahead . Well done . Before this one gets going ,could we have an update on your other jobs, especially the cowboy build , that was just coming to life😂. Great content Darren ,thanks for sharing
Hi. It’s my parents house that’s the cowboy build. It was agreed that he could commence this new project and come back to the cowboy build. So he has not abandoned it. Hope that answers your question.
I love seeing the grab man. I just think of all that hard work he saves you getting it into expensive skips. Mine shifted 103 tonnes for me to dig out my drive. (he even dug it out I didn't have to do a thing).
Darren you triggered my ocd Darren: he was due at 10, the time now 9:45, he's bang on time 🤣🤣 but all jokes aside another great day on site, its nice when you get ahead on project 🙌🏾 👊🏾
Really interesting watching this build from scratch Darren. I have some experience with extensions and the like but never really seen a build from scratch like this.
Yep hide them wooden stakes from the Building Inspector, that's been outlawed for many years, the science behind it is the wood can swell and crack the concrete, never seen it myself but just use 12mm rebar like everyone else does.
Not sure think it's part A foundations should be free from debris, especially wood that's gonna swell, then rot and leave weak points in footings... if inspector had seen em would of made u take em out.. I bet he ok'd it before u added em... he wouldn't of allowed it.. plus common sense should of told not to leave timber in a footing..
@darrenthebuilder I was only trying to advise u mate, won't waste my time no more. I don't pretend. Why on earth would u leave wood in a footing.. so I was right about u putting them in after inspection.. can see u love being the boss and don't like taking advise.... last you'll here from me...
Who's going to move the sky dish lol. I'm sure it was a tough choice for you Darren.... Go do some hard work with the boys or play on the digger for a day. 😂😂😂
Haha that Grab Lorry guy is going to sifting them loads of topsoil & making bank selling it LOL Nice productive week though. Does your Grab guy do aggregates also? Kill two birds with him drop gravel, Type 1 etc & then take a load of away with him.
Doing well ther Darr gonna look good wen done…how do you price for a job like that do you put one big price in or give a rough gist how long it will take u and price it on day rate plus 25-30% extra
Darren vs. the plywood in the trench: Darren: You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here. Plywood: Aaand I am teeeling you, III'm not goooing ... Darren: Hold my beer (gets in digger) Plywood: Whyyyyy! Whyyyy!
The building inspector checks after we dig the footing. Most of the uk soil is vey stable. The house right next to our plot have foundations of about 10 inches of concrete and they haven’t moved in all the years they are there. Many English houses even those over 100 years old have no concrete just bricks on hardcore lol. These modern foundations are extremely over engineered and over the top.

@@darrenthebuilder with a 150mm cavity, 350mm (inner wall 100mm+ cavity 150mm+100mm outer wall) would you not require a foundation of at least 700mm wide ? 350 x 2=700mm and the wall to sit roughly in the middle of the foundation.
Most foundations used to be 600mm wide, now a lot of engineers specify 650mm to allow for the extra 50mm. If you’re having a 100mm with full fill insulation you just do it 600mm as usual

Brilliant progress Darren, nice one
Nice one Darren, some graft this week! 👍👍
Well done Darren, good job
That was fortunate the grab lorry coming when it did. You managed to get a fair bit done 👍
Keep up the great work
Must have a nice day just to ‘play’ on your own with the digger .😉 Sorted out the site pdq.
You certainly work hard man
If I ever get rich and retire I want to buy a field and a digger…would never get bored 🎉
looks like a building project now, looks great
Nice job 👍. By the way how is the cowboy build coming along.
Top work D as always. Where abouts in London is the job? Looks a bit like Bellingham

Shuld have asked the grab driver to dig the ground out with his grab and do oversite for u
You are not used to sit a whole day on a bigger. How is youre back feeling?
Shame the grabber guy doesn’t also bring the concrete or collect the skips 😂
You guys dont play about. You have made great progress for one week!
Come on Darren, who you kidding, you just wanted to play on your toy all day lol

Is the foundation next to the existing house going to be dug and concreted by hand? Or have I missed something?
There’s no brick wall there

no rebar on the foundations ? what was the dimension of those foundations ?
You don’t need them in the uk in most cases. 600mm wide 700-900 Deep concrete
@@darrenthebuilder How do you know if the soil is strong enough to withstand the weight of the house?

Not a proper foundations pour without the cat inspectorate being involved!

Now, where did I put the other digger bucket ?
You are so lucky not having to go below the frost line.

Mikey here, Great progress on your own, looking good , now you can see the foot print more clearly , looking forward to seeing this one
5* as always
Shocking amount of work done and progress made in such a short space of time, developer probably sleeping like a baby.
Phenomenal for a weeks work and delays with the concrete incredible job
Darren you work well on yourself, keep up the good work 💪💯😊.

Cracking job 👍👍👍

No rebar in the concrete needed?
No needed
Why the hell would you bury your toothed bucket. Deserves to loose it due to poor workmanship
