The Aire & Calder canal at Woodlesford is only 5 mins drive from my house, so I fish it a lot. This stretch has towpaths on both sides, which means that there's no advantage to fishing the bottom of the far bank shelf. The fish get an equal amount of disturbance on both banks. It's much easier for me to fish the bottom of near bank shelf, so I generally target there. As this video shows, it's a wide and deep canal which needs a slightly different approach to the usual shallower ones. It's an interesting challenge.
Hi guys, very good video =)) where can I buy a split Aventus 13.5 m fish rod? it is not available at all in the Czech Republic. Please link to the internet, Martin =)
what is happening to this breams 40:56 is angler fough or something is wrong in water looks terrible also i love these vlogs they are amazing keep them coming
Large sand and gravel barges coming down the Trent into the Ouse to Goole and into the canal to Leeds for the HS2 , the barges had their engine water cooler intakes guards removed and were sucking fish in damaging and killing fish ,there was a big problem the full length of the canal ,my local tackle shop Aire Tackle in Knottingley wrote several times to the E/A and the canal and rivers trust ,but nothing was done ,then eventually one of the barges collided with the bank causing the breach .its also been breached upstream too ,suffice to say since the barges have stopped so has the fish kills , hope this helps and has answered your question
Started rutting. Breeding season just about to kick off. That's why they are all tightly shoaled. Go 500 yds and you wouldn't get a bite all day. Fish damage themselves rubbing up against structures where the eggs are.
@@unionjakjakson Sorry but you are wrong this was happening to the fish last Autumn right up till the barges stopped ,check out Aire Tackles facebook page videos of the dead fish after the barges came through ,funny how there has been no fish kills and injured fish floating on the canal since the barge crashed and breached the canal
@@andybenstead7240 That was in January, it's now May. That injury to the fish is very recent, the barges have not sailed since up that stretch, as they can't get past the bridge where they are fishing. So sorry, not the reason for that fish's injuries.
@@unionjakjakson Wrong again , fish do not sustain open wounds like that from spawning , they have been caused by the barges ,wounds of that nature take several months to heal and in some cases never heal fully .i suggest you do your research about the damage caused by those barges
