And why do you think so?
He used to get really down on himself when he lost and that affected his future performance as well as making him miserable. "I don't care" is his way of putting things in perspective.

Stats aren't being relevant. Hikaru played less matches compared to Ian and Carlsen so by playing less compared to them it's easier to achieve that rating. Ian is pretty impressive considering he played 24 more matches than Hikaru and 12 more than Magnus and he is in second place.
@@peolfpetler8500 I doubt he's really downplaying that, it's just basically a meme that Ian's perpetually 2nd since he's lost two world championships in a row.

Me searching for someone named Rozman Levy
Gukesh has 70 points out of 107 games. Even if his performance is lower than Hikaru's, I think it's more impressive than Nakamura's 18'5 points out of 31. If someone plays 5 games in the last year and gets a 2840 performance that wouldn't mean he is the best player in the world of the year.
i agree
Hikaru has only been playing very strong Super GM players, which is not the case for Gukesh. If Hikaru played opponents of the level of what Gukesh was playing against, it's very likely for him to shoot an even higher score due to his ability to punish opponents' slightly worse positions
Firouzja at 2759 with 20/40. He literally only played top Super-GMs.
Hikaru Does care, This is literally what he’s worked years on accomplishing. he’s just being a Humble human being… we need more people like him.
"I don't care" is his way of keeping an even keel and not getting too depressed when he loses, something he was prone to do earlier in his career.

Just one thing, chess experience is gained when no. of chess matches keep increasing and you learn from your match mistakes.
Magnus having a shit year is 3rd best 😂

Gukesh played 107 matches in last 12 months..
A number very high

Hikaru chill we all know you're sexy, smart and the best chess player
31 games are not enough.
7 of the top 25 here have played less then 35 games, its not that crazy honestly.
Playing 107 games and with 60 of them being against worse opponents is just padding your KD.
We need to know the average strength of all matches to be able to make any useful observations.
@@thisisnotrealasdfasdfasdf1704 It's simple maths bro. The higher the sample size the more accurate the result. Lower the size, more biased in the result. Simple 8th standard stats.
How do you say those 31 are strong opponents and not weaker ones? Higher sample size always balances the extremes. Basic maths isn't it?

Let's go!!! Congrats!
It is problematic for you Naka that you really believe it . But deep down you know who the real boss of chess is 😢
The whole world knows who the real and absolute King is, in all formats.
ANG THAT IS MAGNUS CARLSEN
Hikaru and Ian both only 3 points above 50:50 so they were obviously consistently playing only the top level opponents and playing well in order to get AP that high. Contrast Magnus who is 7 points above 50:50 score and Gukesh also way above 50%, but both with a lower rating so must have played many more lower rated opponents.
One really should take into account how does the calculation method treat the 3 possible outcomes differently. Having higher points and no. of games ratio tells you that the player must had gone for decisive games pretty often, so how much occasional losses affect that AP is a big deal.
For reference, Magnus got 66.28%, bested by 2 other players in the top 11, Dubov(69.44%), and, had to include him, Yu Yangyi(72.46%).
Hikaru had 59.68%, Anish was pretty close to him(59.18%), while Gukesh was an inch behind Magnus himself(65.42%)
"over a small sample size, ive been the best player in the world" 😂
his performance in last fide world cup...MEH
Well, I’m not sure there’s a prize for that. Like Fischer said in his 60 minutes interview “First thing’s first, right? I gotta get the title”.
I was a big fan of the NFL and for decades rooted for my favorite team. But now that I started watching Hikaru play tilted Tuesday and other tournaments he has became my new “NFL” to watch. This guy wouldn't even care if the earth split in half
He also has been the one playing the least.
31 games against top players are enough games lol
@@youtubewatcher8982 if he were to add 10 games and won all of them, he would only match Magnus, even though his 2023 rating is much lower.
@@MaxIronsThird how if Magnus is already lower the way it is lol
@@youtubewatcher8982 check the points won
@@MaxIronsThird nope he would be more than magnus as 31+10 is 41 but still the same amount of wins
Amazing pragnanda not even in this list still reached final of world cup
Plot twist: Hikaru is playing it off like he hasn’t grinded his entire life to get to this level of success in the Chess world and assumed it would be a flex to just put it off.
An 18year old South Indian Guy : I'm the one who knocks
if you divide the "score" table, then Magnus got 0.66; Ian 0.55; Hikaru: 0.6
soo... no.. Magnus is nr 1, Hikaru nr 2, Ian nr 3 (if you dont take the rest into account, someone might have scored higher or not, idk)
No matter what, I always wait for him to say, "get outta here".
I wonder if Hikaru will ever become the classical word champion.. I certainly hope so.
Hes trying to be as humble as possible
No one comes close too magnetoo
Where is Drunk Magnus?
i dont quite understand how elo is calculated but if we just go by winrate the rankings for the top 5 on that list would be as follows:
Magnus: 66.3%
Hikaru: 59.7%
Anish: 59.2%
Fabiano: 56%
Ian: 55.5%
Depends on opposite player for example if you play with a player higher rated than you and u win then u will gain a lot of points but if u loose u won't loose a lot of point and if u play with opponent lower rated that than u and u win u won't gain a lot of point but if u loose u will loose a lot of point because u lost to a player less rated than u
@@Dxer81 well yeah thats the basic concept but numbers feel random
i havent seen an actual formular anywhere
granted i probably havent looked properly
It’s easier to have a great score if you played less games than everyone else
Hikaru will eventually become an Only Up! grandmaster. I believe in him.
Didn't go to well in the world cup tough
Nobody is a bigger fan of Hikaru than Nakamura is 🔥
Man.. after he got the mental thing out if the way.. he is unstoppable..
Should've taken a draw in that last Candidates game, you would've played the WCC.
You need to get your Classical World Champion
its amazing how calm he is about this.
Magnus WR 66%, Hikaru WR 59%, and Nepo WR% 55
Well that aged well
😂😂 An 18 years old cleared him
Pragg not being on that list is surprising!!!
doesnt matter much if you odn't win the tourneys that matter.
"Hikaru is coming for magnus 🗿"
who isnt
Realistically if he was the best he would be world champion or at least get to the final.
It means nothing if you come to a must win game and play d4. 😢
True measure is head to head surely. Hard to play at 2800+ when Magnus is refusing to play standard openings.
