An addendum for the sneaky ship placement - if the other player's ships are straddling a sea zone line, make them tidy up or use a mobilization card such as those from AA:Revised. Be absolutely sure which sea zone a sea unit is in, and if your opponent is being wishy-washy or vague about positioning or fussing about keeping things obvious, they're trying to cheat. I've played A&A for decades. It wasn't until I started playing online shooters did I find a more dedicated group of crooks and cheaters to rival A&A.
I just had a game today where I faced a hyper aggressive Turn 3 KJF attempt and in addition to a few other naval units to hedge, it was the one time where buying an AA to protect Japan was the perfect choice. They’re hyper situational, but can be extremely useful; ideally never bought but amazing in the right spot. Ninja edit: learning when to sacrifice bombers over fighters in the attack massively improved my Allies game
Love your use of those arrows. What my friends and I do is; once you have used a unit for either combat or non-combat, you then the unit on its side. This prevents anyone from accidentally moving their unit twice. For aircraft, we place a die next to them to denote how much fuel each specific aircraft has left, as it can get complex remembering which plane came from where if you’re doing some big land and sea battle in the pacific. Did you get your arrows from Risk?
How about the convoy raiding of Japan, I just had my first G-40 game this week and played allies, we made 6 turns without a clear winner. My USA was building a 2 ocean Navy with mostly submarines in the Pacific, I had 17 USA and 3 ANZAK subs ready for convoy raiding, could you offer some insight into weather or not that is an effective war tactic for disarming Japan's maybe large income, he only had 4 destroyers, 5 subs, 4 loaded carriers and the other starting ships. I felt like another few turns and Japan's income was going to be down $20-30, but my Russia I think was not going to survive past turn 10, I made a good retreat but Italy got completely out of control with turn 5&6 both collecting well over $40, I didn't do a Toronto raid and my opponent was very effective to take full advantage. No large navy was sunk except for the opening set up for England as Germany did a fine opening game play, smashing the shipping. ANZAK even had a small carrier fleet. I'd love to see a convoy raider video
Tac bombers sound good on paper but feel a bit lacking in my opinion. They needed something else unique about them. So while I love using the ones I start the game with I tend to go for fighters over tacs. How about you?
@@CorporalClegg i think of them like super artillery. When paired with a fighter or a tank, and infantry to soak hits, they bring a less costly alternative to strat bombers, and if caught in the defense still defend on a 3.

Axis really needed this in a game we had like 14 hours ago xD

What a great vid yet again! I especially liked the zooming in part on those sneaky bombers when talking about the risk of a lone transport 😅
I appreciate it, Dutch 😊

I really wish they would rebalance AA to have a regular defensive value of 1 in addition to its opening fire.
Looking forward to part 3 - thanks Corporal Clegg!
Thank you Matt!
Omw to send this to friends 🗣️
Great video! P.S Love your roundels!
Thanks buddy!
Love your advice and how it's delivered :-) !
Love it Clegg!👊
Cheers!

@@sullivannix4509 nice ideas for new players! Yes got the arrows from risk 😁
Thanks for the comment
great vid!
Glad you thought so!
Good job buddy
Thanks mate!
At 4:50, you talk about Fighters Pros. You forgot to add “Can pass through enemy territory”

Where can the arrows be found for the Axis and Allies? I have searched and have no idea where its possible to get them
The ones I use are from the 2008 Risk board game
@@CorporalClegg ahhh. understood. thank you very much
Excellent series, love the little bits of humor also! Can I ask what lengths you used for your flight stands (bottom of base to magnet)?
Thanks man!
I have 2 sizes, one for fighters/tacticals and one for bombers.
The smaller size is 3.5cm and the taller size is 4.5cm 👍
What a Great Video !
I watched it many many times.
Can you tell my what is the version of this game. I really want to buy one : )
Great video! Thank you!
Excellent series.
BTW what did you use as a base for those flight stands?
They're M3 high thumb nuts. I'll probably do a full tutorial on how to make them this year

And just as a reminder as someone who has read the rules many times, if you deploy more units than you can mobilize, you are refunded them in IPC 1:57
What is your opinion or Tac. Bombers who attack on 4 when paired with a fighter or a tank?

Pls do another blunder or maybe a new video on lucky moments instead
Lucky moments is a good idea. I'll do this one day. Thanks for the suggestion!
