    Even as a Newcastle fan I find some of these comments embarrassing 😅 Isak is world class but Haaland is simply in a class of his own. At the start of the season Isak was struggling just like Haaland is now. The difference is that at Newcastle your not under the spotlight

    • @mhrlr8945
      @mhrlr8945 5 часов назад

      I think the difference is that Isak can make a goal happen for himself. Haaland needs to be fed, touched the ball four times against Liverpool in the first half. One of them from kick off

    • @davidwebster5946
      @davidwebster5946 5 часов назад

      @mhrlr8945 Haaland can definitely make a goal for himself I have seen him do it plenty of times for Dortmund. Most of the goals Isak has scored recently were put on a plate for him by Murphy. Whenever someone like Haaland pops up there is always people desperate to slag him off

      He didn’t stop us winning the league. We stopped ourselves from winning the league. All we had to do was beat Aston Villa and not drop silly points on other games. We took Man City to the very last day, Haaland didn’t stop us.

    I genuinely question the football IQ of people who are actually blaming Haaland. Strikers rely on service. It doesn’t matter if you’re a striker playing for City, Brighton, West Ham, or Southampton. All strikers require teammates who actually provide service. The problem with Haaland is increasingly not him but his teammates. Because if you actually objectively watch City it’s very clear what the actual problem is for Haaland. He’s playing with teammates like Grealish, Silva, Doku, Savinho, Walker, and Gvardiol who absolutely refuse to play first time balls into space or into the box when Haaland is clearly in great positions to score. It’s getting to the point of absurdity now. Instead, Pep has brainwashed these players into constantly predictably passing backwards and sideways on repeat. And every time that happens it allows opposing defenders to reset and get back into position. And the yard or two of space advantage that Haaland creates evaporates. Haaland is clearly getting fed up with his teammate if you watch him off the ball and I don’t blame him at all.

      Wow!!! Wow!! I love your analysis because I feel like I am the one who wrote it. I always feel bad when I see City players holding the ball so long until the opponent settles and any pass to Haaland they can just easily see it coming. We all know Pep is one of the best managers in the World but sometimes I think his attitude hurts the team. I looked some of goals Aguero scored and I say if City was playing like the way they're playing today, he would have never scored those goals. Kyle Walker gets the ball and stupidly points to the opponent where exactly he's going to put the ball. What do they do at the training that he has to advertise to his opponents where exactly he's going to put the ball for Haaland. Haaland was scoring goals when KDB and him knew exactly where the ball will be put and finds him right there. That's when he becomes very effective. Then City wingers get the balls and dribble so much until they either lose the ball or pass it backwards. And if they lose the ball with opponents long passes, you'll find 2 City defenders against 4 opponents.

      @marcelo1458 16 часов назад +3

      But that’s the point that’s being made in the argument of him vs these other great strikers is that they could still generate chances for themselves when the service wasn’t there by going on individual runs with the ball far from goal. Haaland can only score chances with a low degree of difficulty where he doesn’t need to do any technically difficult build-up work like other great strikers of the past did. Even in the present a guy like Isak can pick up the ball by half-field, dribble past 2-3 players to score his own goal when he doesn’t get any service. So could great strikers of the past, Haaland can’t do that and that’s why he looks like a fish out of water now when he isn’t being served up on a silver platter anymore.

    • @tomodul2619
      @tomodul2619 16 часов назад +1

      @marcelo1458
      You need to go and watch the old videos of Haaland playing for Borussia Dortmund. He used to run with the ball from the midfield and end up scoring. That isn't how Pep plays and that could be really frustrating for him if those who are supposed to supply him chances don't do so and the manager wants him in the box. How many times have you heard Harry Kane being blamed for doing exactly that? Infact they usually referred to Harry Kane as a combo of 9 and 10. Pep should come up with a play plan which can fit Haaland and enable him to score more goals.

    • @Photosoflife
      @Photosoflife 13 часов назад +3

      @marcelo1458
      Like the other person on this thread said, you need to actually go back and watch Haaland at Dortmund and Salzburg. Because the City version of him is being limited by Pep’s extreme possession system. A lot of people don’t realize Haaland is probably the single most dangerous striker in space and in the counterattack at the elite level. We’ve seen glimpses here and there of that version of Haaland with City. But Pep’s extreme possession system is taking Haaland too much out of the match. Which is a real shame. If Haaland played for Liverpool or Tottenham right now people would be seeing him at his very best.

    It’s not a difficult conversation..
    He’s an elite finisher but not a world class player, two things can exist at once. In yesteryears there were many strikers that offered far more than he does in all facets of the position but because his scoring feats are usually what’s highlighted then that’s what puts him ahead of most people’s conversations.
    If you took your head off the stat sheet and watched a game purely off the eye test, you’d see he’s got plenty deficiencies.
    Again, supreme finisher.. Not in the best ever.
    Also, as a player Isak is fundamentally better and far more dangerous individually.

    • @StarboundUK
      @StarboundUK 4 часа назад +1

      Exactly... Lineker was an elite finisher with fantastic inbox movement. But even he would argue that he was limited in other areas. Suarez was a better all round player & better No9 at his peak.

    Haaland is great when he has service and he is great when the opposition isnt playing a low block. At Dortmund, Haaland was the best in the world at being on the last defenders shoulder and making runs in behind. The timing of his runs combined with his speed and strength made him unstoppable at Dortmund. Unfortunately, the way that city plays, means there is rarely room in behind for Haaland to exploit. Instead, City have been providing him with unbelieveable service.. up until a couple months ago. That has dried up, and so has his goals. Haaland isn't a tiki taka striker, he's big, he doesnt work well in small spaces.
    But the lack of football iq by the presenters and the callers is comical, they do not have a clue. Haaland has literally been a goal a game player wherever he has played.

  • @gastonchi5901

    Clowns comparing Haaland to other strikers in league is crazy. Man he hasn't scored for weeks now but he's still the top scorer amongst all the strikers in the EPL. Stop watching only the EPL to judge players. Go back and watch Haaland at Dortmund and shut up. He plays this way because pep wants him to play that way.
