Bluetooth works perfectly; the only issue would be if someone else connected to the speaker at the same time as you.
Make sure no one else is connected; otherwise, your music will pause all of a sudden if their phone gets a notification.

I can't answer that question because I don't own a Charge 5.
I personally will pick this over the JBL Charge 5 because its way cheaper but still has good sound and bass (depending on how you set the equalizer on the app).
