I can’t believe Nadia took the whole 9/11 meme criticism and made it a legitimately valid point of criticism. That’s next fucking level, kudos to you Nadia.
I feel like Nadia has just an amazing ability to block out the memory of any part she thought was dumb or made no sense, and so arrived at a much more pleasant movie experience in comparison because the worst parts are just gone from her memory until she's reminded of them 😂 I relate!
Saw it with my girlfriend on Valentine's Day in a theater with three other people in it. A revelation. I skipped Morbius and Venom 2 so I think I underestimated how bad these movies can be to watch. Hard to explain in a review how disconcerting it was to watch the film; I left during the CPR scene to go to the bathroom and when I came back she was saying "I need to go to Peru." I asked my girlfriend why she was doing that and she just shrugged.
I mean, Venom 2 was pretty watchable. It's completely forgettable and frankly I remember nothing other than characters making baffling decisions but in a surprise to no one both Tom Hardy and Woody Harrelson pull their weight so it wasn't utter trash.
Same. My girlfriend is a big Dakota fan,and this was it. I already had low expectations and it blew that away, considering I'd always talk about plot holes and mistakes, but I kinda gave up after the first 10 mins on this one.

Based on how empty the theater was, I’m fairly sure that my wife and I are the only people who actually saw Madame Web without any intention of doing an online review afterwards
When even Dakota Johnson was skeptical about the movie's quality when she had to react to fake explosions and blue and green screens, you KNOW that you're in for a stinker.
@@No_True_Scotsman the problem is when the performer is doubting their performance, which happens much easier when you have less to react to than children do when they play pretend.

Dakota Johnson absolutely did not have the energy to do this film. Aren’t there interviews that came out of her basically complaining about the direction of shooting such film that gives no context to how the character is suppose to feel? Especially for the CGI action sequences where she didn’t know how to react to a director yelling “explosion!” at her and she’s suppose to act like she saw one but was just in front of an empty green screen.

Some of these comments are so off-putting. One half of the comment section is calling Nadia dumb for having an opinion they disagree with and for being "loud and domineering" (???), another is calling out Jake for interrupting Nadia, as if Jake didn't apologize to Nadia for interrupting her and for being rude. This video is literally just two passionate people discussing/ranting about a movie, and sometimes people will interrupt each other to speak out their opinion. I swear to God, it's like y'all have never had an interaction with a real human before.
Everything I've heard about this movie makes it seem that a executives found a list of IPs they were going to lose the right too and went " OH SHIT! we better make a movie." Edit: commented before finishing the video and this was one of last thing they said lol.
I like how Nadia keeps saying no spoilers, as if I or anyone was planning to see this movie and cares for the plot of Sony’s Spider-Man free cinematic universe.
I don't understand why they couldn't say certain names if Sony themselves have the rights to Spider-Man and his related characters. I assume the deal with Marvel Studios has some protections in place that they just can't willy nilly use Peter Parker's name or even Aunt May for that matter? Just baffling. They have to do this stuff every 3 years or so to retain the rights.. Ugh.
I wanted to see Argyle. Wish I'd just rewatched The Long Kiss Goodnight. (Was really upset the main character never crushed someone's skull with a book and said "Authors do that?!".) This I have no interest now. Although the concept of Madame Web sounds interesting. And sounds like the other 3 girl characters could have been interesting. As could terminator spiderman. But the difference is this has a crappy by committee script and isn't trying to do anything but set up future movies. Argyle was a psuedo original idea that fell flat. But I LIKED a ton of things they were *trying* to do in Argyle. It just fell totally flat. But it was also a fully 100% self contained story even though it tried to set up a universe attue very end. But it was a complete movie on its own. I haven't seen both. But based on what I've heard Argyle was better. I was at least mildly interested and occasionally gently amused by Argyle and it dodn't feel that long.
Movies gotta work standalone first in order for future films to be built on top: Iron man, Captain America, and Thor are all stand alone movies except for teasers tacked onto the end that don't really effect the rest of the movie. Also if I'm getting this right, they shoved in a bunch of Spider-People into the film only to have them not actually look like or do Spider-People things?
I waited til The Flash was at the $5 theater to watch it. After I got out of the theater, I just felt sad. Annoyed and depressed and empty. I'm not even going to watch this when it hits streaming. My mental health is too important to me.
This film has executive meddling written all over it. As Chris Stuckmann said, there is no way that a screenwriter decided that the final fight scene should take place under a giant Pepsi sign.
Morlun is one of my favourite spider man villains and I’ve always been disappointed he hasn’t made it to the big screen. But If this is what they do with Ezekiel, I am so happy Morlun has been left alone.
I'm just peeved that japanese hero shows that run on lower budget and have to do 50 episodes of storytelling can somehow be a higher quality product than a Hollywood superhero movie
I went to see this on Thursday because the trailers made the movie look so bad. I was curious if that was really the best trailers they could make. After the first 10 mins in the jungle with the exposition, with the really weird cut in the moms dialogue and the spider people running down the tree I texted my girlfriend "Oh this movie is ass" I got worried that the rest of the movie was gonna bore me but the fact that it continued to be really bad made me enjoy most of it, until like 3/4 of the way when it starts to drag. I wouldn't recommend it, especially if you've already seen funny clips online or seen reviews because knowing whats coming will make it boring, but if you are tired of making fun of birdemic this is a good one to throw on
This isn't current and thus maybe not what this channel is designed for, but given the lack of good Marvel/DC content right now, I'd love to see ye discuss of Moon Knight. It's got a unique world, it's quirky and fun, but it also deals with some heavy material in a very commendable way (certainly better than a lot more "serious" media than a superhero show). Absolutely loved it.
The reason Cassie was able to go to the Amazon is because the villain is extraordinarily incompetent. The police or government at large don’t have Cassie’s identity.
