You are my favorite sewing youtuber. 😊 I love your enthusiasm and thanks for clearing up the tension issues that others have. It makes the machine much more appealing.
Ahhh!!!!! Thanks 🥰
Great review, thanks 👍
I absolutely love this machine! My goal was to find a more portable industrial machine duo to lack of space for a real industrial, that can handle vinyl and heavy thread. How Heavy thread nobody could answer me, so I gave it a shot and guess what, 6 layers of 700g/m2 vinyl, with 20 thread (tex 135) both up and bobbin, but I used topstitch 100, and it works just like butter and really really nice stitches. Was surprised that the manual recommended 20 to 30 thread. But it don't like only 2 layers with that heavy thread, it struggles a little to keep the knot in between, so if I don't want a knot here and there to be seen on the top, I have to keep the knot juuuust going in the bottom layer. With 20 thread it's a big knot so. Just got topstitch 110 so going to see if it's work better.with 3 layers it don't happen. It works really nice for upholstery, better then I thought. Most important for me was it can handle the knot with that heavy weight thread, with ease. Thanks for the vid 😊
You are so much fun! Thank you!!!
Thanks!
So excited to see this
Hello
I purchased my HD9 because you used one. That was good enough for me and I love mine🧡
Oh wow! Thank you. I’m so glad you like the HD9. I love mine!
Thank you for being you.😊
I appreciate that. Thank you Joe
I have had mine for 2 weeks! It’s bloody fabulous!❤
I’d love to have it, but darn that price!! Not in my budget at the moment.
Short answer: Heck yes it can. I love mine for sewing bags w/vinyl and cork. It's a beast and I'm so glad I didn't have to fork over the $$$ for an industrial.
Ooh forgot to mention - if you don't want white, it comes in black - and Elna (owned by Janome) has the elnita ef1 which is the exact same machine in a gorgeous mint green!
Hi thanks for making this video. I had just bought a Titan industrial machine about 2 months ago and it is not going well. Have broken 5 needles trying to do binding. The owners of the shop have agreed to switch it out for he HD9. After viewing your video I am going to take them up on their offer. BTW where did you get that beautiful Barbie material?
I love my hd9
Me too! It’s a great machine.
Quick question, do you use the same heavy weight threads in the bobbin. Looking at this and a Sailrite Fabricator
Yes! I use the same in the bobbin
Quick question if I may. making a vinyl strap like you had ( which I presume would have been through 4 layers of vinyl what sort of setting would you have your machine on. I use a tex 70 thread both top and bottom, with a 16 or 18 needle, and most of the time it gives me a great stitch, then for no reason the thread will fray and miss stitches, any comments would be helpful
That sounds like a needle size issue.
When in doubt or when you are getting skipped stitches use a Janome purple tip needle ;)
Thank you I will certainly give them a try, but a bit surprised as it is like a ball point needle, which I did not tend to associate with vinyl. Also you did not mention what your tension setting would be on when doing those straps. Thanks again!
