The foil has always been there it just usually sticks to the plastic . 🙂
I think he was questioning the colour of the foil rather than its presence. I haven't had one of the purple ones for years but I don't remember the foil being pink either.

Hey Barry, you will never believe this, or probably see it but i actually work for Nestle confectionery. I am Based in Halifax, where quality streets are made and work in the innovation team (we develop the new sweets!) This video is really cool, but i have to say the foil has always been wrapped around the sweet underneith the cellowrap. If you want any tips about nestle chocolates, or chocolate in General...hit me up!
I think it was the colour rather than the fact the foil was there. I haven't had one of the purple ones in years but I can't remember the foil being pink either. And why did they stop making them with Brazil nuts? They were so much nicer than the cheap and inferior hazelnut.
Why does no one make,coffee creams any more? There was always a battle in our house for the coffee ones

@@MrPixiepantz I had to stop the video when he dumped in the hazel nuts. The chocolate is literally in the shape of a brazil nut. The packaging is even in the shape of a brazil nut. Hazel nuts and brazils don't even taste all that similar. (going to keep watching and hope he addresses this bc it's irking me lol)
@@crystalsunshine according to Wikipedia the Brazil nut was indeed replaced by the inferior Hazelnut in the Purple One at some unspecified point.

the pink foil has always been there but it's usually glued better to the plastic wrapper.

Barry the nut is a Brazil nut and the shape and texture is to represent a Brazil nut shell.
As a clueless American, I have no idea about this candy, but it's chocolate and I'd faceplant in that tin of candy in a heartbeat. Another fun video, Barry!

We don't have them in our normal stores but our local K-Mart had imported excess stock from the United Kingdom after Christmas and I have just fallen in love with them. Thankfully staff has told me that they are bringing in stock in time for Christmas because it was so popular.

This is exactly why I love watching!
For future projects with thin fillings like these, spread the tempered chocolate on parchment paper then flip it over onto your mold. It clings to the paper to keep it from sinking while it sets. This also gives you a nice, smooth base to your chocolate.

What I love about this channel is I'm from south africa and most of these types of videos we can't do as we don't have the same ingredients but we do have the same as the UK like golden syryp. And quilaty streets and crunches

I have a tip for you. When you need to keep something level that say.. cant fit into a container like you did here. Rice.. container of rice. Like in a baking pan or something. Add enough to make it pretty deep and it should keep it level if its deep enough.

I'm an American now but I was born in the UK. I occasionally buy quality street on Amazon. Green triangle is one of my favorites. I think I like the Cadbury heros more. I live in Washington State (Seattle now - yes like Starbucks!) But I grew up in Tacoma which is about 45 minutes south depending on traffic, and in Tacoma they make a sweet called Almond Roca which is really delicious. It's a sort of English toffee kind of treat. We have some local chocolate too in the area. But obviously coffee is something we're especially known for!

Quality Street are popular in Canada around the holidays as well. When I still ate dairy, I preferred Celebrations. I worked at a candy store and imported UK Christmas chocolate was the best.

We also have this in Canada. There would always be a tin at my grandma's house around Christmas time. It has been a very long time since I've had those chocolates.

We have them in Canada and they’re so good! They’ve always had the foil but but it used to stick to the plastic wrapper instead of separating.

I made caramel to fill a cake with on the weekend and it would have been a perfect consistency for this! Its 200g butter 200g brown sugar and a 375g...i used a 395g tin of condesed milk. Its like a firm but spreadable consistency and tastes amazing!

Quality streets are great for the family. My dad always buys multiple boxs for chrismas (we have a big family). my favourite one is the one in the pink wrapper. the light purple wrapper thing has always been there you must have just managed to get them of at the same time in the past. I like the purple ones apart from the nut.

If your dog is afraid of fireworks you can wrap them in piece of fabric. It actually helps. My parents dog is old and afraid of loud noises and that wrap thing really help her last year.
Just google "dog half wrap". If you have a old bed sheats or something you can just use that. We don't use anything that would be too thight. Just so you can fit two fingers under it and so it doesn't limit your dogs movements.
I’m a quality street expert. I’m first one in to any tin when I enter my family’s house at Christmas and trust me those wrappers have always been their,,, i eat that much when I go home I have hidden wrappers falling out my back pocket and it’s always the pink/purple ones 🤤

He always talks off the top of his head like he's teaching us or he's a professional when really he's usually doing something the most sketchy half assed way ever. Ahah he always works harder and not smart I swear. And that's why I love him
another caramel recipe which i find way easier is : 2dl cream 2dl sugar 2dl syrup (we use lyles all purpose) and boil on a low heatt tills the bubbles are stable. COok until desired consistency.

I’m American, but they do sell tins of Quality Street at a store called World Market during the holidays. I’d say I have a favorite from the tin, but my guests usually get to them before I do.

The 'extra' wrapper, if I recall correctly (it being at least three years since I last had one of these) has always been there. It tends to stick to the plastic, which is probably why you hand't noticed it before.

Hello just watching this now lol-as a quality street afficionado I can state that the shape is meant to be a brazil nut, and that they have always been double wrapped like that and these are my abso faved as well.

The reason there is a pink wrapper underneath the normal is because the usual wrapper is now translucent (kinda clear, kinda thick) so it just makes the purply- pink/magenta brighter.
