I’v been looking some time until I finally found this video, which exactly showed what I’ve been asking myself: the different effects of different thicknesses of Yarn. Thanks a lot. Maybe to exclude any doubts about the effects the panel should have been worked with the same pattern for every yarn. But I totally understand, this would have been a lot of more work todo just for a video. Thank You very much 👍👏👏👏
The shinyness of the embroidery thread is intentional, it comes from a process called mercerisation. If you can find unmercerised cotton thread of similar weight, the end result will probably look about as matte as the sashiko thread.
