I've been trying to expand on my embroidery skills for a while, and came across your channel. I must say I love it. Sashiko reminds me of how my Chinese grandmother would mend my shirts. Similar, but not as neat as your work and the boro reminds me of the American "patchwork" and again it looks beautiful and the stitching makes it look more unified compared to typical American patchwork. I'm going to have to try out this sashiko thread. You had me sold when you said it was 4 strands. I've been working with DMC 6 strand cotton embroidery thread and I always have to pull out 2 so I can work in my preferred 4 for my thicker stitches, but separating removes weakens the natural twist and makes my work a little uneven. I'm excited to try this style of mending. Thank you for posting so many wonderful and educational videos.

I cannot buy SashiCo thread as I live on Madeira island and the postage is prohibitively expensive. However I can buy Hardanger yarn which looks very similar. It is more economical for me to donate to you on Patreon.

I am going to try sashiko stitching with Patons dk cotton yarn. It looks similar weight to the original.
The weight isn't the primary factor of the thread for Sashiko. It is how it is made. I hope you would have a chance to try ours. Thread does matter.
