- This Millenium Jade C33 Nissan Laurel is one of the cleanest cars we've had the chance to work on. The Built 2JZGTE VVTI is paired with a Garrett G30-900 and backed by a TR6060 6 Speed Manual Transmission.
WIth Kye in control of the @haltech Elite 2500 we were able to see the difference VVTI Makes through the powerband.
The Final figure ended up being 660HP at the hubs before running out of injectors.
That's going to be pretty punchy on the street!
What's your opinion? should Matt upgrade the turbo and shoot for more power?

No. It's probably going to run at 400hp most of the time anyway, unless he's going roll racing, then it needs 1400hp
I mean, it all depends on what he's planing on doing with it. As it is, 660HP is plenty enough for pretty much everything. Just enjoy it.
More power = more breaking things
No, that’s a wild power curve and great all round car.
upgrade the injectors, doesnt look like that turbo is falling off to me , thing would be a weapon, comes on strong
This fully deserved a stand-alone episode. Any detailed Kye dyno session deserves an episode as they’re very informative and a cracking car.
I’d love to see Kye’s NSP tuning page layouts in detail with tips as they look dialled. 👌
Next time I'm down there ill quiz him on the setup!
What a beautiful car! You have to love Kye his attention to detail and thoroughness where close enough isn't good enough is just awesome. If only we all had a Kye to rely on.
As much as we liked to see all the Page Ups and getting that Moon Tune done. Having Kye go through and explain the process and showing the difference on the Dyno. ❤❤
650 should be plenty to boil the tires at all times in that light a car.
"Isn't that car expensive in fuel?"
"Nah mate, the real expense is tires and dry panties"
@@andersjjensenyes
I agree I think 300 350 would be perfect for a street car 650 some serious power in a small car
Kye is a weapon and nothing seems to slow him down! Beautifully built car, I'd leave as is and enjoy it. Nice vid Woody.
sheesh that car is super clean, nice work all involved.
coming from tuning i love listening to kye? is that how its spelled? talk over his processes, clearly a very intelligent BLOKE
Thanks mate 😁
in Queensland we'd refer to him as a " Farking Good Carnt aye"
Nothing better than sitting back every Wednesday and watching some Skid Factory! Another great video Woody keep it up
These G series turbos are seriously impressive
Mint. That's all you need to scare yourself silly on the street whilst being driveable the rest of the time. Front end looks super clean.
Sorry Woody, no Kiwi would say Laurelle. Its Laurel mate. ( pronounced lorel )
alot of work went into making that engine hole look that clean nice stuff
Wicked car. It isn’t Barra too so I could even have the sound turned up when it was in the dyno. JZ❤
aw chur my cuzzie itz laurel or lorry aye mbro da manurewa breavas kno wer itz at cuz
Glad he wised up and decided to stop drifting it. That's far to clean to beat up. I can't wait to see what my 30/25 goes like on the dyno with it's tiny turbo.
“Doesn’t make as much power as the crown”. Doesn’t matter, has 3 pedals not 2 😂
The Skid Factory is missing something the changes the whole show. What is that thing? Not enough Toyota Crown
Almost bought an MS55 wagon the other day.m but decided I shouldn’t make any stupid financial decisions
@Woodrigos that's just a business expense for the chanel 🤠
It would be nice to see that car with a nice RB30/25 just like Al's.
Doing good as always Woody… but we need some Old Hard Headed Aussie to balance the vids. Can you get some mix of low effort high concentration of grumpy comments sprinkled through? Oppo of Funfetti for content!
4:09 oooor OPEL, cuz I'm on the other side of the world ;)
Nissan Yanny had me kekkin
The Doctor Tune'm All of Australia
Have asked before, are the front inner wing/tubs standard or custom i think they look so good and super clean
Yeah it's tubbed in the front for more steering angle.
Great vid, Merry Christmas Woody and say hi to Al!
Miss Al, and nugget garage...
.. hrrmmm hey woody, you talked about the hoff needing a camera guy...🤔😉 Keep going man you're doing great 👍
I always thought it was a Laurel as in Laurel and Hardy, i.e. a boy's name.
Woody's already cut Al out of the intro. HERESY! 😅
I tell ya, weird effect from watching this kinda thing on you tube. you asked about the Oil cap and my brain answered 5.5 wasn't going to put an answer in because sounded to low...
Nice work again! What size turbine housing does it have and is it twin scroll?
You know it’s a good video, when the viewer check how much longer is left in said video.😂
And viewer is pleased they’re only 1/4 way through.😂😂
🇦🇺🤜🏼🤛🏼🍀😎😂
Here’s hoping computer monitors can use “Free Sync” in the future to remove the Moiré interaction pattern between cameras and FPS monitors.
Full torque at 4000 RPM, that is pretty nice.
Goodness me I remember back to the early days.. Mental health has its place.
R.I.P
Manual, finally a real man's 2j 👌
Nice clean car, good HP. I'd be stoked to own that.
Why don’t Golbys ship to nz and the c33 needs the factory front lip
Using Spanians intro music aye?? Let’s OGG
Its called Royalty free music........
It's called a paid subscription service.
Not knocking ya woody your a legend but the skid factory isn't the same already without Yoda
How TF do you have reliability without an air filter?
spanian iykyk
Thought I was the only one who picked up on this 🤣
How much boost were you running for that 660hp? egt ? back pressure?
Get old mate to change the rev limiter to hard cut on ignition only 😉 then let her sing
What a sweet build, too bad Nissan doesn't build such great looking cars today.
Yup, 6.5l with filter
Imagine some poor mf searching nissan yanny lol
Should paint lines up the road no worries.
Great video, well done Woody 👍
I miss Al 😢
I expected to see the vvt cross-over way sooner, like 3500rpm. For the advantage of 10 hp at 6500, you might aswell have it locked at the maximum 20 degrees and run a less complex, (more reliable) non-vvt setup. Thoughts?
Yes i was suprised by how high the revs were at crossover ,you could be right
Absolutely. Kye doesn't know what he is doing. He just hasn't done enough of these yet. You'd better go and teach him.
The advantage is all that power and torque in the low rpm range. That doesn't exist without the vvt. The Kelford cams are what is making it hang on so late in the rpm range, a std cam would fall over much quicker when advanced.
I thought that too, if it advances static 20° and not slowing blending from 20 to zero then it would be much easier to use a non vvti dial in to what ever 20° might be in lift and call it a day...
Also, 600isch HP can be done with wasted spark, so no need of cam sensor. Last session I talked to a guy who had his 2.0 16V up to 468hp and used wasted spark, semi sequential injection... His hole loom has the diameter of my pinky and in ran actually better than stock, even cold in the morning when he drove it on the trailer😮.
It all depends on what's your goal and how many shortcoming your are willing to accept... This guy here loaded up the parts cannon pretty well, so I suggest he wants it all...
You can also simplify the pressure boost to a single figure, the timing to a single figure then may as well throw in a single figure for fueling. Your rationale would negate the need for many more sensors and wires. Probably would not even need an ECU, or at least only need a simpler one. You should take a job with a vehicle manufacturer,. You could save them a lot of money. Also would you have a "hole" loom or a whole loom. Don't think you could get a job as Kye's offsider.@@dledsdleds432
Man that car is so great
Too bad it's caged and doesn't have a rear seat if he's not racing it, would be a mad street car to ride with friends !
6.2L oil.
It would seem with these cams the VVTI is quite pointless no?
Millennium Jade for the win
Sounds like a RD28😂
Have heard the Astra pumps are useless for drifting, poor feedback / feel etc.
Anyone else try them?
i use a late model astra pump with canbus, got a little box that talks to my e46 canbus and does assist vs speed and its perfect for industrial area drifting 😅
@@tcolloganin Mexico
@@shaneobrien148 mate i cant afford a passport let alone tickets to claim Mexico bmw's are expensive to keep running 😅
Gotta set the power up correct with 2 relays one on a delay, it's fussy with first starts and how it builds pressure but alot of people run them we install them on basically every big build that comes into the shop haha
@@tcollogan Everywhere you don't get caught is 'Mexico' \o/
5 - 5.5L
Beautiful machine
Such a good soundtrack this car makes
4.5L
not a jz guy but i guessed 5.5L, not too bad
Not the spanian intro song😂
That’s why it’s familiar! I suppose Spanian uses the same music subscription 😂
@Woodrigos haha good stuff bruz
Lol someones been watching spanion..
Two Step Check 😮😊
That C33 is insanely beautiful
Thumbs up for "Yanny" referencce
Hmmmm already not the same without Al
Love the Pilarless models
surprised to see a g30-900 on a 2j with cams and not something like the g35-900
Yet it still made 660hp atw.
Motors are electric, engines are internal combustion
For a manual (the only correct!) setup I would rather have a turbo that comes on soon than get a gazillion horsepower all at once at 6k RPM. If the interior in this car is put back to stock it's gonna be "the daily of all dailies".
Just a question, can you convert an old 8V 4cylinder engine with VVT and get good results? Like is there any universal kits around/something you can fabricate up
Thanks for the amazing suprise imbus key set you put in with the merchandise ❤🎉
Looks shmick!
Ay, not sure if this was mentioned. Can i ask what size rear housing it's running?
.8x I think. It's sized for response. G30 turbine flows far more than a GTX30 so don't use old mindsets to size G series.
14:18 looks like your using Penrite Racung 15 15w-50.
Beautiful car
Great build Al ....... top tuning Kye ...... and excellent filming Woody.
awsome build, but why 15w50? seems pretty heavy
Impressive power figures!
13:56 I'd assume about 6 quarts (or 5.7L)
Not wanting to sound pretentious, but I agree with Matt, this vehicle is far too nice for drifting now.
Soon as he said Vauxhall I was like "I knew it" haha that power steering pump is the same as mine but just not in the back of the car lol
That whistling in the background was driving me nuts
Why go to all that trouble with a nice engine build and still run hot air induction?
"I watch Gale Banks videos"
Why is there not an R B IN THERE ! Nearly sacrilege !
Quality!
5qt EDIT: damn, I was close.
Moist
Indeed
What rear housing??
Beautiful Car.
Nice work Barty Farty
That cloth brought back childhood memories 😂
It's like a relatively modern day "Super Six". Did Nissan make a Cedric version?
Cedrics had VG V6's. A turbo V6 was available, but nothing special power wise.
@@Vaino_Hotti Thanks for the info. Merry Christmas.
And a gloria, i had a 91 diesel RD28 gloria it was real funky.
@@stephengibbs4372 oh yeah the RD...
Gutless crap so you'd want to drive hard, but it's like the engine actively protests against more throttle.
Heads crack if you even look at them wrong.
What size injectors are in this beast ?
1000cc from memory.
Great video .do this tuner do remote tuning?
4.9
Stunning build, the drivability of it should be glorious!
No Its Not......
Love this car. Can I ask why you are using 15w-50 engine oil? Seems like a very old school diesel oil for such a high tech modern engine.
I’ve been running 15w-50 Mobile One on 3S-GTE and 1JZ-GTE for twenty-five years. It’s the only thing I’ll run and has saved my ass twice now.
Gas struts on the hood is mounted upside down!
Love the rocket science episodes! Modern ECU’s are wicked!
