Obviously, it is on the costlier side and there are cheaper ways to enjoy simracing. There is even games that do some things better than iRacing. BUT… iRacing is the better and more reliable all around package. So in the end, it is a question of what you are willing to pay and what you are looking for.

    • @ScholliUlz
      @ScholliUlz Год назад +2

      It's NOT. :D
Iracing has mediocre physics. Mediocre graphics. Mediocre sounds. And a Multiplayer, that you can get with LFM for ACC and rf2. The overall package is not more than mediocre. For the fee only? Yes. I would recommend it. For the fee and content you have to pay - and you are not able to drive the content you bought? That's a joke and really bold. Iracing is an overhyped joke. A mediocre sim (like many others) with hilarious costs. Nothing more.

Iracing may be bad in every other department (in your opinion) but you can’t deny the fact that there is always a lobby to join no matter what skill level your at compared to other sims.

Iracing does not give me 10 percent of the immersion than other sims do. I know, that this is totally subjective, but I really don't understand, why there are so many people driving.
And: iracing has a lot of empty servers and a lot of leagues, that nobody wants to drive. Every servers is full? Nope. They aren't. Most people want to drive GT3 and stuff like this. But smaller car classes - nobody is interested in driving races and the serves stay empty.

      @dbzcollector9963 Год назад

@@ScholliUlz I mean I never said it was the best sim available, I just said it has the most active players and it’s easier to find a race than any other game. Some games you don’t even have quick play anymore so your stuck looking through discord or something for lobbies. You may not get much out it but for me I just like the fact that I can find a race any time of day, all the servers don’t have to be full as long as there’s a good amount it’s still miles better than any other racing games servers, ACC official servers are dead on consoles along with pretty much every other game except for like forza which still has a small population and GT7 which is just full of ass brained drivers. I’m not sure what kind of setup you have but I have a Moza R9 with a Nextlevel racing HF8 and the game feels incredible. Every time I hit a curb my whole rig shakes so it feels more immersive, I started sim racing about 3 years ago and only now am I starting to feel like it’s an actual sim and not just a video game lol. The one thing I can agree is the price, it really is crazy expensive with having to keep up with the subscription and buying additional content just to participate it can get pricey but the experience is totally worth it to some.

You answered your own question with the first part of that sentence.
There is no doubt iRacing has mediocre visuals and sounds compared to sims based on latest engines like ACC, and that its pricing is questionable, but calling its systems for physics, car setup, safety rating and driver rating "mediocre" is entirely and completely your subjective impression, which seems not to be replicated by the tens of thousands of people - including some of the best real-life drivers - who race on it.

loved the vod. i agree with everything you said. even to the point where, it can be expensive however, it doesn't have to be expensive right off the bat. as you said every season is 12 weeks. so if you already know maybe one of those tracks, your not gonna race, you dont buy it yet. my point is, spend the money slowly, dont buy EVERYTHING at once. definitely try to get some deals, buy a new car and maybe two tracks and i believe you get a discount. iv been enjoying iRacing now for 3 years and i have purchased ALOT of stuff, easily close to 500$ but thats been over the course of three years. if u break it down, its about 15$ a month (less). not only that but something you didnt mention (iirc) is when u do start getting into C class, you can gain money/credits that you can spend on iracing, if you race so many weeks during a season, they give you 4-5$. so if you do for example, road course racing series for IMSA, 6 weeks or 8 weeks, and do oval racing series for say C class (trucks). you can acquire 10$. which then can be spent for the subscription, or a new track, new car ect. in the end, IF you do alot of racing and use this simulator alot, it eventually pays for itself. i now have every car and track i like to race so. i do a few races a week and every two months, i get one free lol. plus, the private leagues you can get into is unlike ANY other type of racing simulator/game. the game isnt cheap, but its alot cheeper than getting a real car, or worse, then crashing. its definitely alot of fun, but its not an arcade game. so you should have the mindset of racing clean or no, you won't have much fun.

Just that part alone explains why they ask money per track and car, nevermind the numerous other Real world reasons. Licensing is expensive enough, now add “Can we also can the entire car and track to put in the game?” To it, of course the price is gunna get jacked up.
Nevermind that its the only service I can find where some asshole doesnt use you as a brake marker or use the wall to keep speed like its forza.
Also to the “Graphics suck” people, when you are constantly staring at the next apex, focused on your braking point or anything of that nature, the LAST thing you are worried about is some pretty graphics.

Iracing is more for the serious “sim” racer not gamer. If you add up what is spent for your rig, this is cheap imo. It’s all relative, if you’ve have hobbies like golf, boating, fishing, sport bikes, the likes of this is cheap. People spend more on Starbucks monthly then what a subscription costs. To each his/her own. I’m no iracing fanboy, I am a league racer and that has kept me at iracing since 08. Not a fan of the tire model, you get to about 98% and there’s not enough yaw in the tires/cars. Below that # it’s great. I would say they should either have the sub and/or have a discount on cars if you have the sub or make you pay for the sub and have the content in bundles. One of the biggest problems for me, aside from paying and having to have 5000 programs to have the sim running to its full potential, is that you can buy a car and not like it/not adapt to its driving style requirements and have that money spent. They should at least let you try the cars out. Also, they could sell you season passes like a discount on all cars and tracks for this particular season.
If you compare to other hobbies sure it might be cheap, but for golfing or fishing you can always sell that stuff you bought if you're not willing to use it anymore, whereas you can't sell your iracing account (at least not legitimately I guess) and your whole content if you're done with it

I bought a Logitech G920 for WRC and Forza and was hooked over the months. Though I've finally taken the plunge into the world of PC gaming and legit sim racing.
I'm super excited. Pricey for the initial PC, coming from a console gamer where everything is super cheap and accessible - it was a bit of a tough swallow setting a budget of £1500 for a full PC set up, granted, this is pocket change for some of the PC's other people have, though for me it's quite an investment.

With the way iRacing is set up to drain your bank account slowly and evenly, I don't mind paying for it.
I am a tinkerer so this is an ideal hobby. I just added a TruBrake to my pedal. I may build a bass shaker system this month.
I used to work at Summit point many years ago. What impressed me about iRacing is it feels more like real racing with the code of conduct and especially the safety based class system to keep it more realistic. I have a copy of FlatOut if I get the urge to just wreck things.

Feels like iracer developer have just made some easy patch working through years and made shit load of money from players! Just look at games like world of tanks that don't even have subscriptions but still made the game go from bad graphics and today modern HD+ graphics and yet iracer looks like robocop 3 from 1991 on nes...not worth it all in my opinion! It's a outdated game and reensport has every opportunity to overrun and kill iracer in the coming years...

I'm not perfect, I don't expect people to be perfect.
But fair and clean..... Meh. That's yet to be determined.

I have raced iRacing since they opened their doors. I own most other sims as well. If you like to collect cars and occasionally drive, iRacing probably isn't a good spend. If you love racing. Actually driving a car in competition, enough to buy a sim wheel and pedals. Jump in. You can control your costs if you need to, and if you have a little disposable income even better.
There is literally non stop, skill matched racing around the clock with just the subscription content. Even with just the subscription, there is a well populated race constantly going off. As an example, there are over 110 racing events available (GT3, NASCAR, Rallycross). One of these events, the Mazda Rookie series has ~250 people racing at the moment, automatically split up by skill level across about 20 servers. There are ~12K racers on line at the moment.

So after trying nearly every other sim I finally got iRacing a few days ago. With all other sims they seem to have good points and bad points. Assetto Corsa looks great when modded, great in VR, physics are great but I think lacks decent online rated racing. AMS2 Looks Great and doesn't need modding, questionable physics and online racing is not there yet. ACC probably better than the other 2 for online racing but runs like a bag of turds in VR. GT7 is great in VR. I really enjoy sports mode, rating is great but races are repetitive and only really 2 each week to choose from (race A is a waste of time).
So iRacing instantly got me in. Great VR, runs well & physics are closest to real like ive tried. And without a doubt the best online racing I have expended so far, only down side is the price, but after doing a few races I can see why people think its worth it. If i'm wise it shouldn't be an issue. If I get Black Friday deals etc it will actually work out cheaper than my PS plus subscription, which I will probably cancel because I only use it for GT7.
after 4 days of iRacing i'm loving it, just moved to D class on my 4th race and about to race Ferrari GT3 cup. so the Ferrari 296 was £10, this weeks course is a free track, but I think I will buy 3 tracks. Monza, Sebring and maybe Daytona. The tracks are so accurate they draw you in, I seem to know every inch of laguna seca after the MX5 cup races. I was so afraid of safety rating I practiced loads. great vid ive subscribed

AC Ultimate from G2A for 20,- then you pay 1,- for Rainfx and 1,- for Pure (or sol weather that is free) then you have the best looking and handling sim out there with endless 'free' mods and great community!.. Then after I would consider Raceroom over iRacing, that also has in depth ranking system if you into that - and the overall cost should be lower, they both also offer great VR support.. For iRacing I would at least want to see graphics comparable or even better than AC and or prices heavy reduced, it is so bad they should actually shame on themselves..

6 months ago I bought 2 years of iRacing coming from ACC and AMS2. I've had amazing races that I'll never forget, but can't make it my main sim depite the multiplayer system, just because I find the GT3 cars don't feel intuitive to me. I find that the ABS penalizes you way too much, like I can't even use 5% brake pressure into an apex because the ABS seem to be made out of rusty iron. Also, I feel like releasing the brakes like in any other gane will not give you the desired rotation and it feels like it demands you to take most corners in a very rounded way, almost as of you were driving a formula car. I also feel like you can't fight the car or drive on the limit like in other sims or it just spins out of control unexpectedly. Does this mean the game is bad? Absolutely not, it just doesn't give me the feeling I want out of a GT3 car, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the other series and the unrivaled competition it offers. Take the Porsche Cup for example, it is just amazingly fun and competitive at the same time.

Would you still pay the money each year? It also depends on what you want from it. If you are happy to race AI and not race other humans, then ACC is great, or F1 is great, or AMS2 is great. What your iracing subscription is paying for is the infrastructure that supports the multiplayer online experience which is beyond compare. Plus, if you are smart, you renew your subscription each year during the Black Friday sale at 25% off and save a heap of money.

Nice video. Personally i think it is a terrible model. They need to go with either a sub, or paid content. I buy stuff for say DCS or MFS and those addons cost a lot more, but hey, there is no sub to pay.
Also, i think you are too liberal with the word "free". The "free" content is not free, you pay for it, monthly. It is also not something you own, it's something you rent (but that goes for all digotal stuff).
And that brings me to my biggest petpeve of iRacing, as soon as your subscription expires you get a 100% locked out of your account. Like you cannot even access your account information to see what content you own. I have never experienced such a crazy live service system before. Any other system i used prior, even if the subscription expires i can still login and see my details, i just cannot use the system. Not in iRacing. You don't even get to log in to check some of the basic info, like current season info, your "owned" content, etc.
Tbh, if people want to go to GT3 or GT4. I would say, get ACC on a discount, and use the LFM platform. You get the same type of system, with only the cost of the game. And you can choose to help the system by having a voluntary donation.
iRacing can only do what it does because of a lack of competition and a large crowd of fan's that try to defend their invested money. It is honestly surprising no other more modern sim has triesd to use the same system. I was quite shocked ACC for example didn't do that.
iRacing is also getting very dated. Both in sound and visuals, it just isn't as good as the other more modern sims.
Also while iRacing does have a lot of diversity, thera also are a lot dead series also depending on what side of the pond you are.
That said, iRacing does have the most solid online system, one of the few proper multiclass series, not too crazy system demands and it really is a good sim, donæt get me wrong. And if you play it for say 5-6 years and race daily the cost per minute really isn't bad. However of you buy it just to race to the C/B licences and maybe get burned out or lose interest in a year or 2 i would try LFM instead.

Some may look better but the competition is the best on IRacing, once you get your A license.

You get an rf2 key for 6 dollars and use LFM to drive a lot of rookie races for free. Or you wait for a sale and pay 10 to 15 dollars.
You get AC with all of the content for less than 10 Dollars in sale and spend 1 dollar for the content Manager.
You get ACC in sale for 15 dollars and you don't need a subscription.
Iracing is the cheapest for trying it out? That's simply not the truth. :D

It’s a good game. However, i just cant stand their business model. Would love to play the game, but i dont think its worth all that money.
