Check out our coverage we posted an hour ago of AMD's new CPUs over here: ruclips.net/video/gxiPAow4fDQ/видео.html Lots more news coverage coming this week! Stay tuned.
I predicted this way back with the 20 series. Establish new prices with a bad release, then the next wave is a better value so people think it’s much better even though the prices still suck. Same thing happening here. 5000 series will likely be better and people will go “oh now THIS is worth $1000!”
@@looks-suspicious Spec-wise, the "4080" (not the 4080 "12GB" crap they tried to pull) is what the 4070 should have had. Namely, 256-bit memory bus and 16GB VRAM. Just 3 generations ago the 70-class used to cost $349 (GTX 970) and $379 (GTX 1070). So that "344" is not that far off the mark. You'd think after 30 years they'd be good at making GPUs. Entry level should be like $50-75 by now. Not $300. Don't be fooled by the "cost". There's a podcast called "Broken Silicon" where the guy invited someone who worked in the industry for 20 years. He said that every time someone tries to add up the actual cost of a graphics card they're way off (as in, it's way cheaper than they think). The companies get the parts in bulk, get preferential treatment and often get them for peanuts. Because of the sheer volume they move.
One suggestion for next time ... Awhen presenting tech specs, it would have been much more user friendly to see the new cards slotted in amongst the existing cards, instead of flipping back and forth between the new cards and the outgoing models. It makes for a much better comparison of what's changing and what's not
This is a rushed video, they are common with these events. They will release much better videos when they have the cards to review. No one with a shred of sense would be considering purchasing these cards (or the cards they supersede) prior to the new cards being reviewed.
agreed, and it's especially insulting this late in its life cycle. I think I'm just going to keep chugging along with the 3070 and wait until 5 series.
Given that the Nvidia promotional material compares the RTX 4070 Super to the RTX 3090, would you consider including the 3090 back into your benchmarks and charts? I understand when the 3090 was first released it was deemed 'not for gaming' and as a result, largely excluded from subsequent charts. However as a 3090 owner, I'd be very keen to see a comparison alongside all other offerings.
Same. Still have my STRIX OC 3090. Got it for the VRAM over anything else but I'd be convinced to bin it off for the 4080 Super just based on the power and heat this thing throws out even with a 912mv curve.
@@JamaicanMeCrazy980 it's 2x3090 + Quadro RTX 4000 on WRX80 platform (TR 5965wx) on 1300 Seasonic. I was stress testing it on all GPUs+CPU and it really does reach nearly 1300w but in practice I'm never loading all of this in 100% since I don't use Quadro for CUDA, only display and rarely GPUs are hammered together with CPU so there's always at least 100-200w margin on PSU. 1600w didn't fit my case either unfortunately xD It's all air cooled with Noctua IPPC 3000 rpm 140mm fans (7x). It's actually not THAT bad when it's not under heavy load. I can work with that even without headphones. So when I'm working or playing games or something it's fine. But when it plows through CUDA or CPU workloads, then imma out for groceries, don't wanna risk hearing damage XD
@@JamaicanMeCrazy980where do you live where you would even notice this difference on your power bill? I have a high powered PC of i7 14700k, 64gb ram and an rtx 4080 with a 1200w psu, my power bill changed by less than $3 lol. In any general modern country, there is no real hit to your power bill.
Yeah those times are long gone, the super prices are the new normal for prices. Many people will consider the 4080s for 999 "good value" due to nvidias marketing over the years.
Actually.. the 4070 TI Super should've been the 4080 in the first place, not over a year later. It's at 800 and is essentially a ever so slightly worse 4080. Despite it's name now, I actually consider it the 4080.. lol
@@Jsanon00not if no one buys these either. Nvidia reduced pricing because no one bought the 4080, so if no one buys the 4080 super which I suspect no one will in this economy, prices will fall again for 5000 series.
I can see the 4070 Ti Super and 4070 Super potentially being interesting, if the former can get close to the 4080 for $799 and the latter can get close to the 4070 Ti for $599, but they have to get there. These are the prices the original cards should’ve *launched* at.
They are still overpriced by about $150-200USD each. "Better" is not the same thing as "good". They could have lowered the price by $0.50 and it would still be "better", but still ridiculous. The cost of GPU tech has outpaced the rate of inflation by a significant amount. The GTX 1080 in 2016 launched at $599. It's comparable modern SKU is the RTX 4080, which had a launch price of $1199. The total inflation rate since 2016 is an increase of about 32% meaning that $100 is equivalent to $132 today. The RTX 4080 adjusted for inflation should have only had a MSRP of $792 or more likely $799. WHICH MEANS, that it has seen a price increase of 51.51% OVER the adjusted for inflation cost.
@@pbjandahighfive I generally don't adjust tech prices for inflation, because I think if you can't provide progress that makes inflation look like a rounding error you have no business being in tech, but I did come to the same "correct price point" of $799 for the RTX 4080 by just stipulating that it needs to offer 35% better value than a $699 RTX 3080 to be considered good.
All I can say is that if this means I'll be able to get a 7900XTX for 700 bucks or less in the near future then I'm very excited about the Super cards.
Yoyre smoking crack if you think this will cause AMD to cut the xtx to $700. Probably will go $850-$900 but anything below $800 is just not realistic while it’s still the latest gen.
The biggest excitement I feel with the Nvidia Super launch is the anticipation of price drops across the board. GPU's might finally be worth what they should've launched at.
I was literally split between the 4070 and the 7800XT during the holidays. Was planning to get the 4070 to upgrade from 2060. Luckily I held back and waited.
@@OstJoker Ethereum is no longer being mined, and nobody uses GPUs to mine Bitcoin. The remaining mining market is tiny. So, crypto should no longer meaningfully affect GPU prices.
Super seems to be Nvidias solution for when people don’t want to buy their cards. 2000 didn’t sell the best initially because of price and pascal was still good. Didn’t have one for 3000 because it sold pretty well. Had one for 4000 because the 4000 line was just a bad deal. Nvidias new plan, release cards that are lower performance wise than their tier says and then when people get pissed, release the cards how they should have in the first place and profit.
I don't know if this is too speculative, but remembering GN's reportage on EVGA quitting making GPUs, this makes me think: Will things like these affect board partners' trust in Nvidia? I'd have to assume if GPU margins have been in the 5% range, this kind of price cut must mean a hefty cut for b2b prices for the chipsets as well. It might make a manufacturer think "damn, they could have sold these chipsets for much less already?" Also, they may have quite a challenge selling the non-super cards they have in stock without making a loss.
Tough. Prices need to come down. They are way out of hand Streamline the process and bring down production costs. Or simply people won’t buy them. Capitalism can be good sometimes
EVGA was/is owned by a great man and he ran his business in a classic, ethical American way, which is all but dead today. A relative of mine worked at their offices in California and he spoke nothing but praises for the company and his boss. The manufacturing prices were probably just as wonky to determine as Nvidia's unethical business. Even if the margins are really low for other AIB's I'd bet they're enslaved to the bitter end.
We're still here talking about spending a grand on a single component to play video games. This is madness. I paid 220 for my rtx 2080 and sold my 1080 for 100 bucks. So my gpu cost me a whopping 120 bucks. And you know what? Im still sorting through my mountainous backlog of games, just like i always will.
So given the 4070 super uses an almost perfect dye I'm guessing the price will be very firm. It makes sense why they didn't discontinue the regular 4070
Bought a new machine finally last month. Raytracing in games has been a bust, so I ended up getting an RX 7900 XTX after switching to nVidia back in the Riva 128 days. The pricing was absolutely insane on the 4080, the 4080S is still insane, at $1000 it should be coming with 20-24G of VRAM. Aside from some coil whine, the card has been fine, and works well with the current games I'm playing.
Raytracing being a bust I guess depends on what card you have, a 3070 upward should be perfectly able to use raytrace features, even my 2070 Super can do ray traced reflections just fine in some games like Control. Definitely not a necessity, but I will say by comparison screenspace reflections look terrible in comparison to RT reflections.
Hello Gamer Nexus. I have a request for a video if you find it interesting. Can you compare the integrated GPU's of CPU's and how potent they are? Maybe make an equivalence between them and some dedicated VC. Much appreciated and keep up the good work!
200$ price reduction on the 4080 is good, but no additional memory is puzzling. The Tisuper actually looks like it may have been overhyped in the leaks saying it would be near the 4080 when it’s only a 10% bump in compute performance. The biggest winner here is the 4070S with 20% more cores for the same price as the 4070 launch MSRP. That should effectively make it a 200$ price cut on the current 4070ti.
Realistically the 4080 Super can’t come with more memory. Physically the only way to increase memory capacity would be to clamshell another 16GB on there (which increases costs and eliminates the price cut) and would cannibalize the 4090’s AI sales as it would have more VRAM. If you thought Nvidia would bring in AD102, the 4090 already uses a cutdown die so Nvidia likely doesn’t have many poor yields to get rid off. Also, AD102 is in insane demand right now for AI and workstation uses, while AD103 had low demand with 4080 sales being very poor.
I literally just pulled the trigger on the 7900xtx yesterday, and now more news comes out about GPUs. Looks like the 4080 Super is going to be on par, or slightly below, the 7900xtx in performance for the same price--and combined with an AMD processor, the XTX is still going to be the better option for my system. But honestly, I'm using a GTX 1060 right now, so either way I know I'm going to be nuked with enough frames to see into the future...
Lmao im also still using the 1060 6gb and i looked for an upgrade in the 40 series but everything was disappointing value(except 4090 but im not buying that) idk what to get at this point, either a 4060 ti, 4070/super or something from amd although i never tried amd and am a bit skeptical
@@atias3840 ikr, for a while I was set on the 3080 12gb, but I knew I wanted something that can reliably push 4k 60-120fps on ultra. (That didn't cost 2 months rent lul.) Thing is, I would probably still be using the 1060 if I we're aiming for 1080 60fps ultra. It's still a very capable card for that resolution. But it really can't handle much above 1200p. But now I have a 4k 144hz monitor and it's more demanding than I thought. (Downscaling from 4k to 1080 looks MUCH worse than native 1080.) But depending on your native resolution, I think the 4070 would be a good sweet spot.
Not sure of the best way to get in touch - you need an array of mics for your anechoic chamber - minidsp and dayton are often used for calibration and measurement. Make a nice 1 meter radius icosahedron of mics - 20 channels - and look for differences in directional sound. I think that this feedback would be really valuable for case makers and users that would like to use their computers where they are recording sound.
As someone who is wanting to upgrade from my 1070, the main thing I am hoping is either that the 4070 Super value is worth it or it causes the 4070 to drop in price to where it seems like it should have been. I'd prefer the 4070 dropping in price so I can save money, but either would be welcome.
People with the 3070ti are crying tears of frustration because 8GB bit them in the ass so soon. You bought a 4070 Ti with 12GB for, I assume, +$800 and you're next on the chopping block. People are already reporting problems with 12GB at 1440p with RT enabled (which is the entire selling point of Nvidia). People who went with the 7900XT, for similar money, more raster power and more VRAM, will be good for years.... Remember this when the RTX 5000 series comes along. By that time 16GB for 1440p is going to be skating on the edge. But we all know the 5070 and 5070Ti will be 16GB cards.
i got my 4070ti earlier this year. its been fantastic, and glad people will be able to get a 4080super for the price i paid for my 4070ti , after taxes it came out to about $1000 at microcenter.
Would be awesome to see the dimension of the new cards compared to the old. I know the 4070 will fit in my SFF factor case, but will the 4070 Super or does it use the huge coolers of the 4070 TI + models?
It uses only 20W more than 4070, so it'll definitely be smaller than the higher models. Maybe a little bigger than the 4070, but propably the same size I reckon.
I’m so glad I was able to purchased a used 6950xt near me about a year ago. This card will last me sooo long and I dont have to deal with the stupid pricing market for a while.
Uh, the last 6950XTs sold for $640 while the XTX was selling for $1000. That's an exact linear decrease in accordance with what the new generation provided in uplift. And it's been like this down the entire stack. The only one with stupid pricing is Nvidia. But now where they're moving a bit AMD will follow suit (which is to be expected more than a year into the generation). I got my XTX for $1000 almost a year ago, and seeing it drop to (my guess) $850 a year later looks like "the normal times" to me. You have a top-shelf last gen card, so you'll sit this generation out (which is "normal times" too). Perhaps you'll pull the trigger on a used XTX once the RX 8000 series has been out for some time, or perhaps there's something intriguing that tickles your fancy. Either way, getting 4-5 years out of a good card is the sane approach.
@@andersjjensen I live in Canada so basically add 30% to everything, prices have been stupid for both. Got a MSI gaming X Trio (top end card for the 6950xt's) for 675$ (500$ Usd) used which was a very good price in Canada. Also i dont live in a big city so used market can be very erratic. I'm not planning on upgrading for many many years. Had been using a GTX 950 for 5 years already and upgraded my 2600 to a 5800X3D Boxing day a year ago while looking for used GPU's. This pc will last me close to 10 years honestly.
@@wildwilie I live in Denmark. We have 25% VAT on everything, so I know the feeling. But yeah, if you could live with a 950 for that long, then a 6950XT will last you until the next ice age.... Unless you get a taste for having a brutally fast PC as you do now :P
I have been holding out on a 4070 ti super and it looks like I made a good decision. Black friday was hard to not pick up the ROG 4070 ti but I'm glad I held out. Now with a few hundred more dollars in my pocket I'll probably just pick up the founders 4080 super and pass on the ASUS.
if the end consumer actually sees the 200 bucks off on the 4080s, i would be actually interested in getting one. its still pricey, but at least we are now within the realm of good and evil.
@@ooyoututchmytralala B&H Photo has the 4080 super Strix listed at $1550. The other Asus skus are a bit better but still crazy IMO. The TUF is $1200 and the TUF OC is $1400. As a point of reference that $550 price difference just to get a Strix nameed one is shockingly close to the $700 I paid for my 1080 Ti when it was new. A whole top tier graphics card (at the time) for just about the difference between FE and AIB, no wonder EVGA packed up their GPU side.
I'm a layman when it comes to the specifics of tech, but would it not have made more sense to upgrade the bus width instead of the die on the 4080 super? Like what is the point of giving it the "world's fastest memory" just to limit the amount that can come through at any one time.
I was looking to get an RX 7900 XTX later this year. Prices are still wack but at $1000 a 4080 Super seems like a compelling option to what I was already looking at.
7900xtx has been seeling well by hitting that high performance for the price segment. Now the 4070 ti super (4080) at 800 makes that value proposition extinct so 7900xtx prices will need to come down to at least 800 to compete.
Same, I was also thinking between 4080 and 7900xtx, strongly inclining towards the latter, since I do not care for RT. This “super” refresh, however, will be a second chance for nvidia. Will wait for reviews, and hope for adequate prices here in Europe.
@@joshholmes1372 My guess is that it will settle at $850. The 4080 was flat out not selling even at $1100, as reported by several retailers. A "value increase" in the 15% range (+5% performance, -10% price) means that AMD only has to adjust by a similar amount. $850 is -12% from the current $950. The 7900XT, however, is very likely to drop to $700 from it's current $800, to compete with the 4070Ti Super.
For those who spent $700 in 2017 on a gtx 1080 Ti, I feel the $800 rtx 4070 Ti Super is the first worthwhile upgrade in what we are gaining per dollar spent. Excited to try one out
@@joeykeilholz925 I’ll wait for Msrp. Every 4000 series hit Msrp relatively quickly lol I’ve waited a while and this is the first card I’ve even been tempted by. I can hold our
Im still running that card and i feel that it's really pointless to get a card with 16gb. It might not last more than 2 years since every multiplatform game is linked to console specs. If the ps5 pro comes with more memory, then we are screwed. We already have plenty games that need 16gb at 1440p with ray tracing . Disabling ray tracing to save on vram -> just get an AMD.
@@sogetsu60 yea plenty of games that are terrible. $1000+ to play dogshit, no thanks. The only reason for upgrade is content creation, not games. There is no game selling card.
next generation of cards will have gddr7 & pcie 5.0, i would say almost everyone in the market right now should just hold off. RDNA 4 is out by the end of the year and judging by these offerings, i fully expect the 5090 & 5080 will follow.
I'm curious what GDDR6 memory modules they'll choose to use in these super cards. The 4070 TI and 4090 used similarly binned memory which was capable of extremely high overclocks. It'll be interesting to see if they use the same binning for all of these cards, as that could give the 4070 super an even bigger lead over the 4070 when overclocked.
Just hope w.e "supported" 12 pin lead into your modular PSU is actually capable of subplanting enough voltage/wattage/amperage properly when pushing these OC to their limits/memory clocks....Vdroop will probably happen and LLC will surely have to be adapted. To avoid any catastrophic outcomes in ownership. IDK if im even willing to use my 1st gen/ampere 12 pin adapter from seasonic given how things played out for the 4090. Im pushing the 3070 strix to 2.1ghz and +1000 mem clock and its been doing it like nothing since launch. Plus i also have issues with bs like coilwhine. Which typically can be mitigated by hard/benchmarking....and a more ideal voltage/curve. Compared between the 3070FE and the 3070 strix. Where The FE had some whine but a good amount of cards since including AMD options have some whine characteristics. Time with huge loads to minimal like mmo/aaa hack n slashers in "town" or populated areas.....vs menus/inventory/etc events which are largely MINIMAL loads. This constant pumping of wattage/voltage/amps leads to inherent aspects of ownership that can grow to be QOL fails. I just want something that can put out impressive numbers like 3090TI+ fps yields while having a more or less "modest" power draw and in turn thermal/voltage characteristics that lead to very quiet operation, thermals etc. VS past eras of running flagships/sli etc and immense draw/heat/fan noise and needing chassis fans cranked up too.
I picked up a 4070 a few months ago for £600 and while I wasn't happy with that being the price for a 70 class card, the performance uplift from my 10 series titan (Titan Xp, £1149 when I bought it) is significant (around a 70% uplift) so I was pretty happy with the card overall. Things need to change with regard to prices though, or we'll get to a point where the 7070 releases at £2,000.
Some prices of ASUS models are available at B&H. 4080 Super = $1,200 / $1,400 and $1,550 4070 TI Super = $870 / $880 4070 Super = $700 / $710 / $730 / $760 / $790
I will admit I do feel mixed about me buying a 4080 last month. But at the end I'm satisfied with what I have. Hopefully other people will enjoy the Super series if they *do* have a lower pricetag upon release
I'm curious how AMD will react to the 4080super at 999$. 24 gigs of Vram are still a huge advantage when texture modding at 4k, but overall the 4080super will just be the superior card in rasta and raytracing, so I am very curious how all of this will play out. Will AMD maybe decide to release a 7950xtx? I heard a long while ago the AMD line-up is finished for the 7000 series, so I doubt we will see any meaningful response from AMD other than maybe slightly droping the prices. But who knows. :D

@@phant0m92same, it seems to be coming as the 4080 Ti, likely at the end of the year along with the "full" ada 102 Rtx 4090 Ti. There's a huge gap between the 4080 and 4090, and a 4080 Ti on ada 102 with 20gb vram and 384mb mem bus width is absolutely the right card to fill it. It's almost a certainty at this point, given the huge gap between the 4080 and 4090. Some will disagree, but anyone with sense looking at the spec differences will see there's a clear space for a 20gb 4080 Ti.
Nice cards, but I think I will keep my EVGA 3080ti for a bit longer... I still can't fathom not having a EVGA GPU, I have had one for 20 years. The last Non EVGA Card I have used was an All-In-Wonder Radeon 9700 card from ATI.

I'm glad I got a 4070 ti for $350. Used parts are definitely the way to go when it comes to these overinflated prices that these companies are pushing. The 5000 series cards will probably start with the 5060 at $1000 at this point 🤣 I've been using almost entirely used parts in my pc since 2012 and I've only had 2 parts actually break, both were motherboards, and only one GPU that arrived DOA and Ebay reimbursed me for that. I've spent around $600 total after you include the money I get back from selling my old parts. If it wasn't for buying a couple of SSDs brand new that would be around $100. The only thing I won't buy or use as a used part is SSDs.
Going to wait a year or two possibly. Already getting a solid performance at 1080p with a 3060 bought last year. Figured I get one more year at 1080p before jumping to a higher rez monitor. Until then ill just keep enjoying 99 percent or so of titles at 60 fps.

The 4080 Super not getting an uplift in VRAM to match the 4070 Ti Super's seems weird. The chip and cache are faster than the 70 Ti, but that being what they're offering for a $200 premium seems ridiculous.
Well, it could have been a $400 premium if they didn't price drop to compete with AMD. Definitely a bunch of GPU pricing issues any way you put it though.
You are not thinking like an Nvidia executive, you need more than 16GB for your workload, well then that’s another $1000. You need more than 16GB a year from now when AAA games require it, well we have a 5000 series upgrade for you to purchase.
They can't just "add more VRAM" the way you can in a desktop computer. Their options for the AD-103 die is 8GB, 16GB or 32GB. Unless they want to cut the memory bus DOWN. Which is not an option for the fully enabled chip, as that will ruin performance.
Keeping my 3080 Ti a while longer. It's an EVGA FTW3 model and it still works great for everything I use it for. I spent $1500 on it during the great graphics card shortage during the pandemic so I gotta get my money's worth out of it haha.
I just can't get over the fact that I paid the equivalent of $700 USD for my 1080 Ti and now the jump to go from an FE model to a Strix is almost that much ($550)
@@HasPotatoAim I wish I could have gotten a 1080 Ti. I upgraded from a 780 Ti to the 3080 Ti. Seeing how EVGA left graphics cards after that it was a good choice because I've always had EVGA when I had Nvidia cards and they've always been great.
@@NamTran-xc2ip I mean I had a 780 Ti that was finally starting to not be able to run AAA games in 1080p medium even anymore (it only had 3GB of VRAM or it would have lasted a lot longer as it was basically a 1060 in performance when it wasn't memory starved and I wasn't using DX12) so it was time to upgrade. I wanted a 3060 Ti but I never got picked in the queues for one, nor for a 3070 or 3080, so when the 3080 Ti came up I just said screw it and got it. It's so powerful that I'll honestly probably not need to upgrade for 5+ years.

been looking for some upgrade for my 3d workflow, my 6700xt has quickly shown its age with how big textures are getting and all the live, realtime renders wedging into the pipeline. pulling the trigger for the 4080 super would drain my budget (not my whole financial situation, but budget), it'd get me going again on the works (and hopefully steady income). Or, keep on saving, make do with my current setup and go in on the next gen.
3080 launched at $699 and was viewed as a good deal. In today's money that's $855. I view the 4080 super as worth it for the features and performance uplift for $150 more. But at the same time, they're going to slowly price themselves out of the gaming market and into the Deeplearning and AI market, which makes me sad
4070 Ti Super beats the 3090 with 60% more VRAM than the 3080 for 800$ so going by your logic that's not a bad upgrade isn't it? (I'm still more concerned about the power connector issues?!)
As someone planning a new build sometime this year, this is interesting. For I'll probably go for the 4070 Ti Super (what a name...). 1k for a GPU is still outside of my comfort zone, 800 is within it. It will still be the most expensive GPU I ever bought (last was a 2070 Super for ~550€ in fall of 2019, which I though to be not a great deal...). But I will wait the reviews and what Team Red has to offer in comparison, which I was tending towards because what a company Nvidia has become.
Wow man this comments is exactly me atm about to start a new build for my 1440p 165hz monitor. I last bought the 2070 Super around the end of 2019 but am now thinking of grabbing the 4070 ti Super its still expensive but i think this will be my best choice as i want high fps. Im going to pair it with a 7800x3d im hoping this card will do me well the market for Tech is so fkin atrocious these days.
@@hugoanderkivi well i know it will handle 1440p but i want high fps like 120fps and up . People are telling me dlss upscaling causes blur and idk if i should be wprried about that or no?
@@xXxC0nSUm3rXxX1337 Even without DLSS, it should get above 100 fps in most games. I've seen DLSS firsthand and the quality preset looks quite good; I would use it. I wouldn't be worried too much.
Prices are still too damn high. Nvidia finally fixed the 4070ti by giving it 16GB VRAM, but did nothing to address the price issue. I said it once and I'll say it again; 200-225W, 16GB VRAM, 3080ti level performance, £500-600. If they won't make a card like that or better, I will simply keep my money. £800 is too damn high for hardware that rapidly depreciates in value within a matter of years.
It's a step in the right direction, but as part of one of my New Year's Resolutions that I'm fully switching to Linux I switched to AMD because Nvidia is still just pretty horrible on Linux if you ask me. Wayland still has severe glitches with Nvidia cards, even on current drivers, kernel and desktop environments. And X11 can't do VRR (Gsync/FreeSync) with more than one display because all displays are treated as one "screen". For those interested, I switched from a 3080 to a 7800 XT, so it's not really an upgrade performance-wise (got AV1 encode at least), but I'm committed to giving Linux a shot and I didn't want to troubleshoot Nvidia + Linux every step of the way. I might look stupid if prices of AMD cards fall in one to two weeks because of these SUPER cards though. I would've probably fallen for a 4070 Ti Super or 4080 Super if it wasn't for Linux.
Good luck. Steam os would be great to use just for gaming. I used linux mint back in the day during college. Liked it, but It was a pain trying to find workarounds for everything. Maybe it is better now idk.

Nvidia… please… I was hoping they would take advantage of the refresh so that everything above the 4060 Ti 16GB would have at least 16 gigs of memory… this really leaves the 4070 super in a weird spot.

Yeah absolutely. I also found it a little Jarring. Maybe they did it this way to get the video out quickly once the press embargo was lifted...

They are way out of hand
Streamline the process and bring down production costs.

It makes sense why they didn't discontinue the regular 4070
firm and guessing a limited supply as well.
Aside from some coil whine, the card has been fine, and works well with the current games I'm playing.
i agree, it should've been 20GB
Raytracing being a bust I guess depends on what card you have, a 3070 upward should be perfectly able to use raytrace features, even my 2070 Super can do ray traced reflections just fine in some games like Control. Definitely not a necessity, but I will say by comparison screenspace reflections look terrible in comparison to RT reflections.
Hello Gamer Nexus. I have a request for a video if you find it interesting. Can you compare the integrated GPU's of CPU's and how potent they are? Maybe make an equivalence between them and some dedicated VC. Much appreciated and keep up the good work!
Hoping for a direct comparison to a 3080ti as this seems to be missing from most tests.
I can't wait for the 4070 Ti Super Max 9. It's like the regular one, but loses random parts while running.
4070 super is restrained by a smear 10% increase in wattage (220 W vs 200 W) which leaves the performance increase pretty low 10%~
(Projected performance bump, real world performance may differ.)
Thea cards are just price drops with a name slapped on.
There's nothing puzzling about the 4080's memory size. It's still the AD103 chip with the same bus width. Fully agree with dex6316.
I literally just pulled the trigger on the 7900xtx yesterday, and now more news comes out about GPUs.

Good luck beating the bots to a founders.

If there's still no DP 2.1, it's a pass for me. A shame too, as I was actually considering the 4080S.

As a point of reference that $550 price difference just to get a Strix nameed one is shockingly close to the $700 I paid for my 1080 Ti when it was new.
A whole top tier graphics card (at the time) for just about the difference between FE and AIB, no wonder EVGA packed up their GPU side.
Let’s go, Nvidia coming in clutch to help AMD lower prices on the 7900XTX.
Or third parties will just push prices above msrp and reap the profits... I hope it's what you said though.
True! AMD does not need to do nothing!
Impressive, very nice... Now let's see the price and amount of VRAM on the 4060 Super.
@@joshholmes1372 Yep, and if it does drop that much it might very well convince me again. This is looking like a win for me either way so far.
Same, I was also thinking between 4080 and 7900xtx, strongly inclining towards the latter, since I do not care for RT. This “super” refresh, however, will be a second chance for nvidia. Will wait for reviews, and hope for adequate prices here in Europe.
I bought mine at msrp, couldn't find any 4090 that wasnt twice the price... I'm happy I did. BF did bring the 7900 XTX down to 800 at some places.

I would love a 4080 with 24GB

Edit: yes, I realize that it has a different bus width, but there are always around that with proper memory chip selection, and I’m not even saying that it had to be 16 GB. Just… Anything except being 25% less than the lower tier card.
Hoping Intel shows off something soon with Battlemage. Would much rather buy one of their gpus than an Nvidia gpu.
There will not be any high end Battlemage products that come close to any of these new Nvidia cards, sorry.
@@looks-suspicious I prefer good performance at a good price over stronger performance at a much higher price.
Plus, rumors can say all they want lol. In the end, we don't actually know anything until something is released. For all we know, Intel could make a card that beats the 4090. Very unlikely, but possible.
@@Zxanonblade battlemage will most likely be a mobile graphics product, Intel need something in that market and battlemage just can't compete in the discrete GPU segment by the time it comes later this year, since rtx 5000 and Rx 8000 would be ready by then
Price / Performance: Not so Super
I bought a 4080 2days ago, should i send it back and wait a bit? What do you guys think
I'll start considering an upgrade when I can be sure that there won't be any issue with the power connector.
You'll have a long wait. Every connector has burnt at some point or another, there is no such thing as 0 defects.
@@alexatkinYou mean that even the good old 8pins are prone to defects?
My attitude in general is that I'd rather wait for new standards to mature and avoid taking the potential bullet with them.
As a 3090 owner I'm in no rush for an upgrade currently. I'd rather pay the extra electricity cost.
Thanks to Nividia and AMD, I was finally convinced to buy consoles.
They don't care as consoles also use their hardware.
@@nossy232323 only AMD in this case then.
@@RiasatSalminSami Nintendo uses Nvidia.
@@nossy232323 nintendo has potato graphics, no point in buying their console.
@@RiasatSalminSami I agree. I used to get a high end gaming PC + Nintendo consoles (only for the Nintendo exclusives), but the Nintendo hardware really is too crappy.
