Hundreds audition, but only a select group will secure spots in the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders training camp. DCC director Kelli Finglass and head choreographer Judy Trammell oversee the intense audition process and decide which hopefuls will make the team.

@@alexcya7978 Also Judy seems to be more focused on dance capabilities. She doesn't seem to like girls getting cut for other reasons and she seems uncomfortable with keeping dance risks who Kelli and Charlotte just happen to like.

Vivian was such a disappointment in season 9. I loved her attitude and drive in season 8.
I don't think that it would have made a difference if she had practiced instead of writing that poem.

@@Donnaploss It was probably something like she told the producers her hobby was writing poetry, or that she journaled to relieve stress and they suggested reading a poem to Kelli. She seemed very vulnerable to being manipulated.
Vivian's cut was always so funny/awkward to me. She read a poem, really laid it on thick about how she'll do her best and how hard she'll try and then when they cut her off because it's getting weird/awkward she just goes "well this sucks🙄" and leaves!😂

For malena to be so apologetic, even in the moment, and for ppl to still be dragging her to this day perplexes me. And for julia, when kelli said they made a decision to move in a direction that does not include her on the team that year. I'm taking that phrasing. Kelli is hilarious
The fact is, she re-auditioned the following year without taking ANY of their advice to heart and was a bit shit in her attitude during so I think that's why more people are fine with dragging her.
Victoria got cut, came back kicking ass and made it onto the team and didn't she make show group as well? THAT'S respectable.
Malena shouldn't have been in training camp in the first place. They kept her to the end bcuz they wanted her to show them, everyday was a chance for all of them, i wish Julia didnt get cut tho like they kept Merideth and other girls but got rid of Julia. Boo👎
Kelly is very articulate very precise and she can find 50 different ways to say the same thing she's the consummate professional she's a coach and she cares very deeply for her team to be and the girls are very dedicated and determined to make their dreams come true so I just give them a lot of credit for and I feel for them because I know when you want to do something and you're passionate about it you know you could say it and and a lot of emotion comes along with it but hey it is what it is with Kelly knows what she's doing and it's nothing hilarious about that at all I'm Patti Bell not the one that sings the one that brings my point of view and I love the DCC and these girls if they really want to make the team they'll continue to try again if the coaches feel that they have what it takes
@@pattywilliams4456 humor to me is different than humor to you. I know she's being serious. And I find it funny to say that you're moving in a direction that does not include someone. I like the phrasing so much that I plan to use it myself.
@andream9470...I agree. I did want Malena to make it though. She was such a great speaker and was becoming a much better dancer. Lately, they have taken less qualified.
Compare to the other girls in this compilation, Malena did not handle this well at all. Sis made herself look crazy. The other girls from the earlier seasons handled it well. They smiled, thanked them for the opportunity and kept it moving.
And then Judy called her out on it when she re-auditioned the next season! Yikes.
That’s why she didn’t make it to training camp the next season. I still felt so sad for her. She was almost hysterical. It was probably a bad look and seemed very unprofessional.
Its bc she quit a really good job for it. No 1 forced her to but it explains her reaction
@@anakiyacreates It was so cringy to watch. Even Kelli looked uncomfortable. You gotta maintain your poise and your elegance at all times. Yes I know it might be devastating to get cut so close to your dream but that's not an excuse to go into a full-on crying frenzy. It wasn't a good look at all.

Everyone loves to rip on Malena’s reaction during her cut. I agree that it was unprofessional and uncomfortable to watch, but imagine quitting a job you LOVED for the chance to be on the team. Imagine having really great moments, some okay moments, and a few bad moments but still bonding with the girls and giving it your all. Call her dramatic or over the top or whatever, but she worked her butt off along with trying to find new work amid the pressures of TC. I feel for her.
Kelli wanted to keep Lily and Malena, but Charlotte said no. Charlotte has a lot more say so in who makes or does not make the team. It is not Kelli and Judy, it is Kelli and Charlotte running the show so to speak.
Tiara. I agree with you. It is easy to talk about Malena's reaction. Many people write their opinion without thinking how she felt at that moment.
She quit a job that paid her as much as it did for her to make $4 an hour cheerleading? No. Just no.
Malena was a cutie for sure, but even the leaders came in and said to K & J that she has a hard time retaining the choreo, not in one dance, but ALL of them... Kelli even told her to come back, and she did, but at the interview portion of the program, Malena placed a lot of blame, which turned out to be a "No" from the interviewers... *sorry 😐*
She was having an anxiety attack. I have anxiety disorder and understand her reaction. My heart breaks for her.
I love how kelly subtly tells Vivian not to re audition 😂
3 years and Vivian was STILL making the same mistakes every time. That and the fact that her body is “stocky” for the uniform. She was ALWAYS looking at herself in the mirror, worried about her looks.😡😡
She went back to the AA Ice Angels for 2 more years and then retired. She did audition for the Mavs Dancers and the Stars Ice Girls but didn''t make it. Rumour was she was blacklisted and that's why she never made any other teams.
@@Ilovecheaptrick I definitely believe the rumors. She was extremely competitive with the other girls but not in an athletic way, so she just didn’t fit in a team setting. She was also very strange sometimes, to the point that it was uncomfortable just to watch so I can only imagine what the people actually around her must have felt.
Kyndell didn’t have what it took, to be a doc cheerleader, 2 yrs in a row. She was so awkward, she didn’t know the routines at all.

During Julia’s cut, Judy had her eyes closed and her face hiding behind her hair- you can really tell she hates making these cuts 😂😅

Being cut last two years in a row is brutal, borderline cruel. I think they should have done anything they could to avoid that situation.

I don’t know why but Julia’s cut annoys me to my core. It’s as if she’s trying to guilt her way onto the team.
Bc her crying was so fake . Not one single tear with all that face making and begging. She didn’t seem genuine
Malena’s cut is always so cringe-y to me. She struggled the ENTIRE time and I’m not sure what made her think if she couldn’t keep up with the Jets, she’d somehow be able to keep up with the DCC. I felt like all she did was cry and blubber so much.
I was rooting SO hard for Vivian in season 8, and then she came back to full of herself season 9 and I was honestly relieved.
PS Alyssa is all kinds of gorgeous, I’m so glad she re-auditioned and made the team
Ratings. She was not allowed to dance for whatever NFL team she cheered for before she tried out. She made the team but was benched the entire season due to memory mistakes.

That Katylin cut was super deserved. That girl was definitely on something and going through something while trying to coast by as a veteran and then pout to Kelli and Judy to gain sympathy
She was on meth at this time, she got arrested for possession of meth shortly after getting cut! Her arrest photo is hard to see.

Kaitlin looks like she’s in the twlight zone. When Kelli is talking to her,something is off. Very strange!!!!
I feel bad for Judy she’s always so clearly uncomfortable with cutting girls 😭 especially if it’s for a dumb reason
I think that Vivien could have made the team on her second attempt, but I can't help but feel that she played up to the cameras for extra screen time, hence her Lucid Dream poem. Different persona to the sweet Vivien who tried the first time.
I think there were a lot of little things that got her cut. Her vanity showed w/ always wanting to look at herself in the mirror. I sensed something catty w/ her and the newer girls. When she balked at doing the complete jump split, it told us she might have an uncooperative streak in her. Little things add up so that when there's a question, it's not going to tip the scales your way.

This might not be a popular opinion but I feel for Judy and Kelly. They have to sit there and dash these girls' hopes throughout the process. That has to be wearing on the psyche. CEOs and managers don't have to go through this. This is heart-wrenching for those girls.
You are so kind when you make cuts. That is really hard to do. Respect.
Candace is beautiful and so is Alyssa. Glad they both came back and made the team.
Failing the exit interview isn't doing anyone any favors. Why would they want them back after behaving like that?
What was Kaitlin’s deal? Missing uniform fittings and wearing the wrong outfit as a vet is alarming.
It was a number of things before that. She missed a rehearsal. She got pulled over by the police. The stories she gave Kelli and Judy weren't adding up or making any sense. In one of the office visit she even looked like she was high. They were dealing with a lot with Kaitlin. She had to go. Kelli and Judy don't have time for this mess.

I felt so bad for Kaime. She was late into training camp because of the debacle with the Minchew sisters so was always trying to catch up. It would have been better to just boot the Minchews and bring Kaime in for a full training camp the following year.

@@suzyrunninghawk7870 They both made it into training camp but both were pageant title holders and already knew the pageants to hand back the titles were scheduled either during training camp or when the DCC would be required for games. It came up during the panel interviews and Judy specifically told them "you won't have any time off in ....." (Can't remember which months). Both swore their commitment was to DCC as their first priority. They then decided no, the pageants were priority and left training camp only part way through.
Kelli said that Kaime would have made it into camp if not for the Minchew sisters, which is why they brought her back. But by then she'd missed several weeks so was totally on the back foot.
One of the Minchews tried out again the following year and Judy called her out on abandoning training camp previously. She didn't get invited back into camp a second time.
@@suzyrunninghawk7870 The two sisters were pageant winners. One of the sisters had pageant duties in June, and she was told during her Finals interview scene, she would not get time off in June. They (meaning Kelli and Charlotte) took both sisters into TC. Mid way through TC both girls left. Kelli said it was the first time any girl left TC which was wrong because two girls left TC in Season One. They (meaning Kelli, Charlotte and probably CMT,) decided to bring Kaime back because if the two sisters did not make TC in the first place Kaime would have picked instead. A very reliable insider on the old Television Without Pity website said Kelli and Judy were not going to take Kaime on the team. She thought she had it in the bag since she was brought back, and she was the first girl ever to be brought back. It was a new storyline which obviously crash and burn. Kaime tried out in Season 5 and was cut at Semi-Finals. It look like she was actually believe she was going to make the team in Season 4.

Amy Caroline was a little annoying. She kept cutting Kelli off, constantly saying “yes ma’am” and not listening to the conversation

Amy was cut because of her looks. She was a wonderful dancer. Never called out or corrected. At the end it was Kitty that wanted her out. I think her conversation with Kelly was edited to look that way. I'm sure she was a little nervous due to being called in but she was lovely.
Vivian once said, “I worked so hard and I feel like I deserve a spot on this team.” Uh, yeah ok.

@@Hoonqueen she wasn't cut because of her weight. She was cut because of her thick thighs. There was nothing she could have done. Had she lost any more weight, it would have been unhealthy. Bottom line, she was cut because the way she looked in the DCC uniform.

usually the anxiety and mental breakdown happens *internally* during these cuts... Malena let it manifest physically and it was sooo bad
No the show kept her on way too long and she thought she had an actual chance. She was cheering for another NFL team and kept getting benched the entire season bc of mistakes.

I wouldn’t be surprised if production told K or J to keep her around bc it would make good fodder for the show. Malena gave it a good run bI think she should have been cut waaaaay earlier in TC. If that’s true that production did do that to her for ratings then that’s cruel since she quit her high paying college job to make $9 an hour as a cheerleader.

I wonder what ever happened to Kristen Hagar? I know she auditioned again but she didn't make into training camp. I'm not sure if she auditioned again after that. Apparently Amy Reese didn't get cut. Back when MTT had a discussion board on CMT someone said that Amy had taken a job that required her to be on the road often so she couldn't be there. Something just had to give.

And Courtney cook was on Adderall. She was high as a kite during her panel interview for her 3rd season and quit due to personal reasons.

I’m sorry but I’m glad they didn’t let Malena back into training camp the following season. Her reaction was borderlining in scary and it was far too over the top. I get being upset, I’m a very sensitive person too, but honestly it was uncalled for. A reaction like that doesn’t warrant another chance.
Melina embarrassed herself. She should have said thank you, taken dance classes and came back. There’s one girl that tried out 4xs and finally made it. Can’t recall her name.
I think there was a couple that tried out a bunch of years. I know Brennan and Christina tried out like 5 and 4 years respectively before finally making the team, and I know one of the Amy’s tried out for 5 years before making it into training camp but not making the team

I don't mean to alarm anyone again but more cuts have been made from training camp. I'm not too sure if its veteran cuts but cuts have been made.
They were TC candidates cuts. If I counted correctly there are 5 cuts left. I am confident to say the vets are save honestly

Amanda resigned Supposedly because they all need to have a COVID-19 injection and she didn’t want to,and Daphne had to retire due to an injury in her leg in Training camp.

@@romychar I found out through the DCC fan pages on IG. Yesterday I found out that there were 2 veteran cuts.
The girl with the height problem that didn't "fit" with that year's squad should have been kept and put somewhere else on the field. There should never be anyone who is cut because either their body type doesn't fit the uniform or the squad. The DCC organization should have more ways to keep such women.
The problem is they only have so many spots and they fulfill a specific role at the games. They can't keep her and make up a role just to have her hanging around because they like her. It's so cutthroat. I definitely feel like they shouldn't have kept her all the way to the end knowing her height was a problem.
I think a lot of these ladies need to realize that they are auditioning for a job. You do not cry, whine, beg etc. You need to be mature adults and take your bad news gracefully. Thank Kelli and Judy for the opportunity and move on.
Don't cry when you're absolutely devastated and you got so close to fulfilling a dream? You're ridiculous. Reality is that people cry, and it happens mostly when your world has been shattered

What pisses me off the most when ppl discuss Malena’s cut is that they forget this was her second cut and it was more brutal than the first. Why? Because while I’m sure Malena knew she needed more training, she had literally quit her job with a university (a really good job) to devote herself to the training camp process. So I believe her cut really overwhelmed her, thinking about the sacrifices she had made only to fall short again. Ppl just want to depict her as this super crazy girl.

Kendall (25:00 mark) got cut on the last night and came back a second time and again got cut on the last night. Natalie Woods from season 1 also got cut last night but came back season 2 and made it. I also think Lilly from the season before last got cut last day but came back again next season and made it only to get cut her 2nd season.
Are they required to always say “yes ma’am?” It’s so annoying. They are leaders but the girls treat these 2 women as if they are God. It’s so weird!

@@EmVee. I was really hoping that she would come back. Just to prove them wrong when they said she was just using DCC to boost her resume. Julia is a fantastic dancer. Very sexy and boy can she move. I could see her dancing for Beyonce or something.
I hate how judgy they are sometimes "you saw her robotic answers" like some people have social things like autism or just anxiety even if they work on eye contact and social ques to look for but their answers come out very quick and to the point and its like ok I get it its a performance but just judge the performance not how "weird" they look
part of being a DCC is being approachable, being able to hold a conversation and being well spoken...If you're robotic, autistic or socially awkward or anxious, you're not qualified.
You cannot have that in the DCC organization. Part of the girl's job is to be fully approachable. Not every job can be inclusive.
So in the history of the show, seems like Dani (season 15) is the only girl to be cut on the last night of TC, and then make the team a subsequent year.
Victoria and Lilly were cut the last night I believe and made it the next year.
Natalie Woods from season 1 was also cut then came back for season 2 and made it.

I don't understand why they think the girls will believe "we need to cut because of space" especially when they had 38 on the squad last year...
And then the season for Lilly and Meredith’s rookie year they had 37 but only 36 would perform on game day as they’d take turns being benched that season.
they had over 36 in different years. One year they had 37, another 38 and yet another year they had 39.

@@snsd717 I briefly saw her in the 2 hour special before MTT. The team was being scolded bc vets asked if they would be placed on the back line of the triangle
